I think it was Legends. United EX was the line for Takara's versions of the Power Core Combiners.

Between Rhinox and Slag, I'm impressed with how they're figuring out some ways to give the quadrupeds broader shoulders in bot mode.

Rhinox beast modes looks like its about to charge after a house-sized fruit full of Predacons.

Super excited for this! The only real gripe I have with it is that I wish his waist cape thingy was a bit longer.

I really don't mind the fake chest jaw. It being so wide was a key look of his BW CG model, and you can't really achieve the same on a voyager budget with the actual beast mode jaw. I do wish the jaw could be left down in robot mode so the illusion is there though.

He looks good but it's odd to me that the overall look and proportions are clearly drawing from the show model, and yet the headsculpt is less accurate to the cartoon than it was on T30 Rhinox. If anything, this head seems BW toy-inspired. I like it, but it's a strange choice given the rest of the design.

I'm still getting it as it is miles better than my original deluxe Rhinox from back in the day. Also hoping to be able to swap the head with my T30 Rhinox and see how that looks. Hopefully it will have same size ball joint, but somehow I doubt it.

No damnit. Every new figure has to be something that I, a person who has been buying Transformers for 30 years, will use as a replacement for some other toy I already own.

Joking aside, you're right. Never buy something because you think "it's the definitive version" of a character. Buy the toy if you want the toy for what it is.

I was pretty excited for this release before and now even mores after getting such a clear look from several angles. It looks I'm in the minority here but I actually think this looks more show accurate than the T30 Rhinox (which I can't get at a reasonable price anyway). It's really the proportions that sell it - this figure is stockier, less 'heroic' but more 'solid', and the faux jaw actually covers the entire chest rather than slimming it down. The rhino skin is thicker and looks more draped over his build, rather than integrated directly into the limbs. Normally I'd consider that a con but that's more how he looked in the show, almost like he was wearing a big rhino-skin coat.

Biggest disappointment is his chain guns being turned into pinwheels. However it's clear now that this was done so they could fit in the beast mode, and I'd rather that they be a small part of beast mode than risk a huge gaping hole in Rhino mode if you lose the guns. Plus it'll be pretty easy for a 3rd party to make extensions for them to slot into. Certainly easier than fixing Dinobot's weirdly colored and disappointingly blunt sword.

A third party will probably come along with some glorious full-bodied chain guns that we can use. So we have that to look forward to.

and they’ll cost the same as the figure itself and folks will defend it and say it’s worth it. For guns. Guns for a figure. Little chunks of plastic.

I'll buy him because I'm not sure how well the rubbery parts on Thrilling 30 Rhinox will hold up over time, so this will be a backup... BUT... as long as the rubbery bits hold, he will not be replacing him. Just something's off about this one. I can't explain it. The head's a bit off, for one.

If I wasn't a beast ear completist, Rhinox would be an easy pass. We need an mp version more than ever.

"I can't believe Hasbro is charging $30 for a Deluxe sized Hot Rod...now off to TFSource to drop that plus shipping on a sword for Predaking."

If you don't think this Rhinox is worth $30, you probably aren't going to like what you see when you check MSRPs on the MP BW stuff.

My favorite part about all this anger over his chain guns is that it's coming from people who aren't the target audience. Like some kid is going to know who Rhinox was before they see this thing on the shelf in a few months, let alone start getting out the tape measure to compare gun sizes.

It's amazing Beast Wars succeeded at all considering the original Rhinox toy only had *one* chain gun and it spun horizontally.

I mean look at this piece of shit. Barely resembles the show, has those weird face wings, and has those giant ass hip skirts. It's practically a shell former. What a slap in the face to all the kids who get up every morning to watch new episodes before school. Does Hasbro WANT Transformers to die?!

(But I'm guessing y'all didn't care back then because you were kids who liked cool robot toys, which that was and this is.)

Looks pretty cool.  My only criticism are the green shoulders.  They should have made them grey so they don\'t stand out in alt mode.

Toys aren’t for children anymore, they have their electronics. Plus, it’s bold of you to assume that any child under nine would buy a
character that isn’t Bumblebee or Optimus.
