I always liked how the slot for the hinge on her head was kept on her show model as a sort of mask/gap over her real mouth. It gave her such a unique face.

In general there were a lot of creative faces in BW that, by all intents, should have been just "normal" smooth metal faces ala G1, but they knew that'd be limited with the CGI of the time. So they opted for more abstract designs that used separate pieces rather than one continuous mesh for more pronounced, expressive features.

 

Yeah His arms is just a stump (or a tiny 5mm gun if you feel that way) and main weapon is just a tailpiece placed on one of the arm stubs. Lastly he looks FAT even for a bunch of bones. I thought we had seen the last of wide fat characters that are unnecessarily fat with not much context since Fattimus Prime from Energon.

 

How is a character looking fat a problem? It adds personality to the figure you wouldn't otherwise have. Besides he turns into a Styracosaurus, which are pretty big and round fossils to begin with, and they need to fill in that negative space a skeleton would usually have for toy and structural purposes.

 

I know it is an early one but we dont really know how scale change we dont have a real comparison between the models the height might change depending on the scene so far it seems they are following this one and been honest is the only official one we can make 1000 comparisson charts, but we dont have the 3d models so this is the only one real one available

 

Sorry, I meant the prototype. I know it was unproduced... looking to see if anybody has seen any of those masks (or the entire figure plus the mask) for sale somewhere.

I mean, given how each new BW Masterpiece that comes out lines up nearly perfectly with that one fan scale chart, I think it's safe to say the people who put together that chart got it really damn close to whatever finalized internal scale chart Mainframe had, that Takara is now using for the MPs.

 

we havent seen yet a masterpiece scorponok that is when we would see what scale they are using we just know dinobot, primal, megatron, dinobot, tigatron and blackarachnia

 

I believe in the chart. When 1 pixel = 1mm, it's been out by only a pixel or two to date. Pretty insane really.

 

been honest i dont care about scale but think it could in certain way help more people accept the figure hahah

Those earmuffs remind me of the weird circle ears that DBZ villains often had.

 

Ok, i hate fossilizers, but weaponry options are kinda cool.

 

I actually like the hinge joint details added to wear his ears would be, because I always felt he should have something like that since the side of his head was always slightly bare to me.

What I DON'T like is that his mouth is no longer segmented into an upper and lower jaw, which makes those aforementioned details come across more like robot ears, which might be where the designers are going, but having the regular mouth is the most egregious thing here to me since seeing the front of the face, that stands out way more than the added ears/hinge joints/whatever they are.

 

Yeah they really bungled the headsculpt on this one, Rhinox has such a distinct head that the tiniest changes are very noticeable.

Other than the head the figure looks fine, kinda hope he gets a Netflix release with a better head and maybe a darker shade of green.

 

Aaaannnndddd now I can't un-see that.

Im not sure is it only me, but i really hope some 3rd party gonna come out with a show-accurare scorponok beast head. But not sure how to fit into the figure since the beast head cannot be dettached
