Watched a Liam Neeson movie the other day and he was in it. I liked him, but he didn't seem like the kind of actor that carries a movie. :(

He's in it for more. Makes me wonder if the writers have some sort of planned out direction for the movie franchise to go in. I'd really like to see TF movies with more of an overarching plot.

Sounds promising. But I\'ll be cautiously optimistic.

I'm glad he is in more, if they introduced a new human in every film they would need to introduce their story every fucking time, just do it once and right.

You know.. I really want to see a "Megatron" turn into a purple dinosaur and eat John Cena. I'd buy tickets for that.

The term your looking for is “Jumping the shark” or “counting your eggs before their hatch.”

Studios these days are so greedy they want to make as many movies as possible, and so they will use that to try to both generate hype around it by saying “look, this one is the FIRST one! Make sure your here when it starts” And also because it shows a confidence in a product and how well it will do.

I’d say we largely have the success of the MCU to blame for it, as every single studio on the planet has wanted to repeat their success, some with a single movie. But none want to do the work or build up required. The best example of this is Warner Bro’s fucking up the DCEU by throwing everything at the wall while micromanaging and forcing market study changes into several movies which all turned them into dogshit.

That isn't what Jumping The Shark means. It's typically used in reference to TV shows that do something so bizarrely out of character that it taints the show. It's derived from an episode of Happy Days where Fonzie quite literally jumps a shark on water skis. It's typically seen as an indication that the showrunners are out of ideas.

Edit to add - I think you meant Jumping the Gun which actually makes sense.

    Yes, that's the term! :D

Yeah, I can see why, the success of MCU is tempting. What they don't realize/don't learn is that MCU was build over 10 years, so it's a long process.

Imagine if MCU started like Dark Universe.

I’m totally okay with having a 5+ year break of Transformers films. Paramount seems like it has no idea what it’s doing in deciding whether they’re rebooting continuity or continuing the franchise. Bumblebee is quite ambiguous as to whether it’s separate or not. Even if it is, there are WAYYYY too many links to the rest of the franchise for it not to be seen as a prequel if you wanted it to be.

And now, this. The Bay films, possible Bumblebee continuity, and now this. What a headache

I'm not putting much stock into the whole "crazy" bit. For all we know, he could have meant something along the lines of "this is something I've never done before. Crazy!" or "Giant robots fighting. Crazy!"

Or Joby Harold wrote a story about how birds aren't real and are actually Laserbeaks that Soundwave's been breeding and selling to the government to spy on humans.

Damn it's so confusing is this a new reboot completely new or is it apart of this new universe bumblebee set up. Its confusing really.

Yea well his new upcoming film is almost out and what ever that year came out and he'd now a leading actor he probably gained more experience same way christina hodson her scripts were bad then bumblebee comed and birds of prey and it seems like shes learned alot

Heres the thing tho if it was apart of the bay films why was he all of a sudden mute during world war 2. Rewatching the last knight its better to not have it apart of it. It appears that optimus has been on earth 3 times but each time hes heard of earth it's like a thing hes never heard about.

    Yup

Unfortunately, even slightly cynically we like to think of these actors being a vehicle for transformers - helping to sell the movie. The even more insidious thing is often people positioning transformers as the vehicle to push the actor...

Having said that this guy seems genuinely engaged so I wouldn't just assume its just a gig, and he said honestly the screenplay and execution is of more interest to me than plot details or who is acting... Unless they really suck.
