Well they failed on both fronts since accuracy wise, characters like Arcee are the wrong colors, Starscream and Bumblebee have added details they're show designs never had, and Bumblebee has added scuff marks he was never seen with, and the articulation on most of the figures isn't even good, just mediocre.

Someone wanted quality TF action figures ("these") but Hasbro hasn't really delivered them, IMO.

    Yeah, I know.
And they say that they use this pvc to give them more detail. I sure don’t see it. I don’t even know why Bee’s chest comes off.

    These things turned out cheap.

But for me, better plastic and I’d be having some of these. I wanted RED Megatron to be my CHUG Megs.

So instead I hit a sale at Hobby Lobby and got some Furai kits. Their IDW Megs is gonna have to do- at least until Furai decides to make a G1 Megs.

Whether they do or don’t live up to their intentions they look fun. I just hate that rubbery material.

I think the only reason these exist is because for a $20 figure, they make more on these vs an actual transformer. Less parts, less molds. It’s the same reason they’ve basically killed off the 3.75” figure, it cost them the same amount as making a 6” figure they can charge $20 for. So they’re trying the same thing with transformers.

The story you linked doesn’t have any bearing on scaling complaints, so...? I have no idea why you think this is relevant. Nothing stated in their behind the scenes explanation is incompatible with properly scaled figures.

It doesn’t cover scale complaints because there isn’t a problem with scale. Scale isn’t, as of right now, a part of its mission focus.

Why do I keep linking to that page? Because you made a claim about it’s marketing:

So I linked to that page to show you the actual marketing of this product.

You assumed they would scale because you wanted them to, and other figures in other lines apparently do.

Nowhere did they give any reason to expect a line of scales figures. If anything, their marketing implies that they won’t.

    Me too.

Just need Starscream to go with wave 1 and I think I\'ll be done with this line.

The vast majority of collectors would expect them to scale to one another because the vast majority of modern toy lines scale to one another. Arguing the opposite position is the standard is expert level trolling.

Well, your expectations were false, now weren’t they?

What is gonna happen if they release a RED Metroplex? Tantrum that it’s not to scale because it’d be the same size as Bumblebee and Megatron? And that it should scale because the Star Wars Black Series scales?

Good thing I didn’t say that.

And saying that I said something I didn’t is being a troll.

A YouTube channel I recommend is Scott Neitlich's "Spector Creative." He was a brand manager at Mattel for MOTU Classics, and worked at Jaks. He basically talks a lot about the business of the toy industry, and answers a lot of questions from collectors. He goes into the basic bottom-dollar issues of why things marketed the way they are. Everything in toy retail is aimed at hooking in kids first, (or at least adults buying presents for kids.) The cost of tooling a figure for a line is a kind of set thing against how many guaranteed sales, etc. And the collector market is niche, and big companies rely on purchases that appeal to kids.

Hence, I never even think about Cyberverse, but if you look at the toy aisle, that's primarily what is there. With their chonky limbs and obvious ball joints, it's something I'd get my son, let him smash it around, and I wouldn't worry about if he ends up crushing it in the car door or dropping out the window. (Because... yeah... that happens...) Because they're not things worth keeping and displaying for collectors.

What is interesting about Transformers is that it's such a strong Japanese brand, that you have economic factors of what sells over there, where buying/collecting habits won't necessarily be the same.

I can see the benefit of these RED figures to display over, say, non-moving statues they also sell at retail. If this Bumblebee was half the size, and they tossed in a Cliffjumper in the box to make it value-added, it'd definitely be a decent display choice IMHO. As is, no—cannot display a Bumblebee the same size as Prime.

Bro, you really gonna look at all these comments criticizing lack of scaling, and say that most fans don't expect scaling? Maaaaaaan ....

Your argument about an RED Metroplex doesn't hold water, either. There's never been a truly scaled Metroplex, and there never could be a true scaled CITYBOT. But again, most lines at least make some attempt at scaling by making him larger than everything else in the line. So yeah, same complaint would apply if there were a RED Metroplex.

    I’ve never said that.
    At. All.
You Better quote where I said that.

What I am saying, and have been saying, is that Hasbro never gave any reason to expect any sense of robot scale with this line, and anyone expecting a sense of scale despite Hasbro’s marketing had false expectations.

At first I read it as red! Cliffjumper. . . Of course Cliffjumper would be red. What other color would he be. . . Then I even read my post and got really lost at why I described him as red. Now I am just confused on how I got so confused.:D o_O

Whether you were talking specifically to harrisongibb or the fandom at large, your argument seems to be, because Hasbro's marketing for RED didn't explicitly state that these figures wouldn't be scaled, that fans had no reason to expect they would. Which is ludicrous. There's a preponderance of precedent that makes scaling a rational expectation.
