.... Now if a pre-made kit comes along I'd be fine with swapping out the parts.

 

The last day has been an experience…

I had yesterday off and waited patiently for Unicron to arrive. Unfortunately, once the FedEx truck pulled up to my apartment and got up to the gate, it immediately turned around and left. I got an alert saying delivery had failed.

After calling FedEx to complain, I ended up going through 3 people until I got someone willing to talk to me (they have a habit of hanging up once you give them a tracking number). I asked them to see if it could be held at a FedEx location. The person then rerouted my order and gave me an address and time to arrive in the morning.

As it turns out, this location was the FedEx hub/warehouse (not open to the public from what I can tell). I then call again and ask to have my order moved. The person on the other line then informs me that it will be arriving at a Walgreens near my house on Sunday.

Well, the tracker updated, but now it says a contradictory status: “On vehicle for delivery, scheduled for delivery next business day.” I call Walgreens and they tell me they don’t get packages in on Sunday, so the FedEx rep didn’t know what they were talking about.

So now everything is up in the air. I’m not gonna lie, I’m getting pretty nervous. Has anyone else here used the Walgreens pickup option? It’s too late to change it to a FedEx Office, so I’m on pins and needles for the next few days.

My biggest concern is if this fails for whatever reason, it’ll be returned to sender. I’m hoping BBTS can reship it to me again if that happens  

The anxiety is too much right now!

 

Finally got mine the other day. He is in planet mode. My son wants to transform him into robot mode. I currently do not. I don't know...I'll get it eventually

Behind the living room, is this upper "shelf." So I knew dead center was where these were going to go. Extras are just up there for storage until I sell them. Getting rid of the Star Wars crap on the right--will eventually put DX9 Gabriel and TW Constructor up in that corner battling it out. But Unicron was going to take that literal center spotlight.

Still painting his maw, but I wanted to see it all set up. Very happy with how it looks.

 

Wow, so it turns out somebody at FedEx hit the wrong button. He was delivered to Walgreens without issue. I received no notification, and shipping still said it was two days out.

calling this figure impressive is an understatement. It really feels like a piece of toy history. Good show, Hasbro and TT.

 

that was way too much effort for such an underwhelming result. i got the 3d printed eyes that @Trunkkey made and they are absolutely amazing. a direct fit and you dont have drill or modify anything.

not to mention they literally light up the room.

his work is the absolute best.

 

Just an idea for those of you that had my problem: Where to put Unicron and where to put his giant box?

My Mom had some stretchy black material and she was looking for something to do during lockdown, so she made me a box cover. Unicron is way too large to put in my usual display area so I put him at the back of my theatre room AKA Batcave which is pretty dark. The picture was taken with the flash on but normally it blends into the room really well.

i haven’t transformed mine yet… and might never lol. He’s just so perfect in planet mode

 

I transformed mine the day I got him (yesterday!) only because I was concerned about QC issues. But I agree, he looks so good in planet mode I wish I had bought two!

 

LOL my Mom does not live with me. I’m 45 with a family and it’s my house. She just made me the box cover.

all these guys who havent transformered their uni's yet. or dont even know when they might even feel like getting around to it.

my advice is please do it as soon as possible.

hopefully there arent any QC issues. but that way if there are any issues you can address them with Haslab and have them taken care of asap. dont take the chance or getting to them too late and finding out you are SOL.

just my random 2 cents.

 

I agree, transform him asap. Be sure you have no issues now or regret it forever.

He has great legs, really able to pose any way I want especially with the toe and heel ratchets. The arms are definitely somewhat limited though due to the way the shoulders are done. He has a presence like none other in robot mode, especially posed dynamically.

The transformation was rough and the instructions are minimal despite the overdone presentation. He's just so big, awkward, and tight. I loved the wing transformation, I find it quite brilliant.

 

Unicron is not only the great centrepiece of your transformers collection, it is also great as a home decoration.  

 

When you work from home, Unicron can be your desk bot!
