Thanks, though, after finding that photo again (used as one of the lifting pictures on one of the Aliexpress listings), i think those particular claws come from something else. Now I wonder where do they come from, they look wicked cool.

Unless it really has them hidden somewhere, then awesome.

The lateral arm movement is there, but its a bit weird.

It comes from two joints that are separate (instead of one universal joint). You have to rotate the bicep out and then move the arm laterally.

Otherwise, I've found articulation really good on this figure. It can certainly hold a pose really well (solid, multi jointed legs with big heavy feet).

    Head is a ball joint
Shoulders are weird but can move forward/back and in/out.
    Elbows bend and rotate
    Wrists swivel only
    No waist
Legs fairy universal, impeded only by kibble.
    Ankles on ball joints.

Funny claws, yes. But not the ones provided with Kalavinka. The regular claw-fingers are slightly smaller :D

Yeah, noticed as much. Anyway, with an aliexpress coupon, managed to score him for about $70 shipped, can't wait to have him in my hands.

Those claws look 3D printed. They seem to have a rough texture to them if you look closely.

Question, does anyone know what the difference between the "Japanese version" and "Overseas version" are?

Secondly, is the one listed on Hobbylink Japan the second batch?

Never heard about a japanese or overseas version. I think there is only one version.
But if you have more informations about it, please share :)

The first batch was released a long time ago.
So yes, I think this is the second batch, with a bag of corrected missiles' bays. Or presumably corrected, as said on some reports on this thread, mine included. All were not perfect, but do the job.

I got the confusion over the two versions because of one Youtube review I saw which had two separate amazon links for the figure that were two different prices. But since I don't order from Amazon, I suppose it probably isn't a big deal.

Thanks for the info on the updated release!

    Very happy with mine! :D

I just picked this figure up last week and damn it’s nice! Really glad I pulled the trigger and got it. As some have already mentioned the articulation in the arms is a little weird but you can still get plenty of dynamic poses. I’m really excited to see what Big Firebird do next.

I just picked this up from The Chosen Prime. I'm not sold on the robot mode, but that jet mode is sick!!

I think the robot mode is solid, you just have to find the right poses for it.

They pop up on eBay from time to time, I found mine in January from there.

Just received him. Nice figure, not that big, but heavy due to the diecast.

Easily to transform as well. Instructions aren't that clear, but it makes sense.

Just figuring out where to store all the weapons on the figure in robot mode. Not a big fan of those clips, they're very tight, and I can see these getting stress marks and breaking in the future.

Jet mode, all armed up, with every piece attached.
Yes, the plane is black, it's lighting that gives it a type of bronze color.
