He needs a lot more than that to look like this and match Sunstreaker:

Luckily according to a leaker who's seen him (can't remember which one), this is exactly what he looks like, minus the exposed engine intakes presumably.

Don't care about Grimlock (or any BW character) but Mirage just isn't doing it for me. It looks better than the siege mold on the back half, where at least the spoiler isn't just a brick, but still nowhere near as good as the old classics mold for an earth mode.

Can't remember who listed it. But they say Sideswipe and Nightprowler will not be till December. Anyone think there will be a reveal soon then?

He didn't. That G2 Megatron is actually really inaccurate and was a cosplaying G1 Megatron at best.

No not really. It's just G1 Megs in G2's colour scheme. This Grimlock still is how he looked head-sculpt and all.
    [IMG] [IMG]

Oh but heaven forbid his colour scheme is slightly different. Absolutely ruined and a terrible figure.

This feels like if a G1 Ratchet toy came out with his colours slightly different instead of his toon colours and people who actually fit the description of geewunners started going off about it.

:lol  Walking the talk. Would have wished for the Dalmatian spots but hey, you win some you lose some! Ordered the pack from Amazon. (Btw, to you know who, order the pack too before it sells out and live with deep regret for the rest of your life :lolol ).

    No GPS eh Hb?

As someone with no connection with the original BW Grimlock, I think the Kingdom version looks pretty great. In my opinion, the dalmatian spots of the original look silly.

Deco, Gentlemen. The deco is accurate to the source material. Whereas Grimlock's is not. That is what is being discussed here.

Well, it’s kinda comparing apples and oranges. Megs is the right deco with the wrong engineering. Grimlock has the right engineering with the wrong deco. We’re just trading one caveat for another. Personally while I kinda prefer the original deco for Grimlock, what Hasbro’s done here isn’t that bad. I never cared for the mold as Dinobot but it looks pretty darn good as Grimlock so I’m grabbing one for sure.

I'd say a fairly accurate sculpt is more important than the deco.
Case-in-point being the 3rd Party Cybertron Starscream and Armada Prime. Still stylized and different deco's but they're still clearly Cybertron Starscream and Armada Prime

Unless we're having another Prime with yellow eyes and grey hands situation then please don't continue.

Again, the deco is what is being discussed here. Yet here you are, inserting yourself into that discussion, saying the deco isn't important.

I'll kindly ask that it is you that doesn't continue.

I'd have to agree. If the sculpt isn't there, no amount of paint will save it. This version of Grimlock definitely invokes the source material and looks good. Personally, I don't mind the 2 tone legs, what bothers me is the 2 tone feet lol

I don't know if this has been pointed out here already but, Grimlock has spots

If this is going to be the Kingdom 2 pack Sideswipe, just a red sunstreaker with a head swap then I will be savein' myself even more mullah ha ha ha ;)

But we do really need more pics of Mirage to end the shoulder cannon confusion...only thing holding me back from ordering right now.

The earliest, my guess, is an announcement six months from release. So maybe in June if it’s a December release.

Hey man, I don't care if Grimlock comes with spots or not, just like I didn't care about Prime having grey hands but people than made such a bigger fuss then it should have been worth.

You're making this a bigger deal than it actually is. The fact Grimlock is getting an updated Beast Wars figure at all takes more precedence then if he has polka dots.

It's not really about the spots guys. It's the weird unfinished looking legs the split colored feet, the unpainted beast head halves in bot mode.

Just for a sec think if they did any other character this way....

I wonder if we will ever get a Mirage with the toy headsculpt that came with the translucent version?

If you're happy to so readily dismiss the iconography this brand has amassed in it's nearly 40 years, so be it. All power to you. But some fans, understandably, are not, and they're free to express their thoughts. You should note that Hasbro actually listened to the thoughts of those in the fandom in your example.

As soon as a Dinobot figure was announced for Kingdom, we all knew that Grimlock would happen. What we couldn't have known is that the deco would stray so far from the original. It sets a precedent going forward which may just affect Beast Wars characters, but it may not. We'll have to wait and see.
