Ah, right. I can’t remember stuff like that. I do know she was available for a long time. I dare not tell my daughter how much she sells for because she might sell her Orthia!
I'd love to see a release that isn't an Amazon Exclusive. Not a fan of Amazon Exclusives. I'd sooner import a TakaraTomy release.
I just searched ebay for Transformers Greenlight & there are only 3 for sale. But there are a ton of Lancer's. So I think we need to be addressing the production numbers. I doubt people want Greenlight so much more than Lancer considering they are both limbs for the same combiner. And seeing how a lot of Amazon's exclusive have shot up in price, I'm thinking the production numbers are a lot lower than others like Generations Selects. Is there any way to find out the exact production numbers on each release? I mean it's obvious with Omega Supreme, Jetfire & the Paradron Medic set that Hasbro has to make second runs because they didn't produce enough in the first batch. Do you think they produced the same exact amount of Greenlights & Lancers? It seems like they make a ton more of the Generations Selects compared to Target or Amazon exclusives. And that really sucks. Amazon isn't a small store, they should get the same amount. But I'm just speculating. I don't have a clue what's really going on. All I know is it sucks! And yes, I ordered Greenlight immediately, but the whole situation still sucks.
I'm guessing Greenlight didn't sell well initially because people weren't as tuned in about something like Orthia until after Lancer was teased/revealed. So Greenlight was the odd third limb on a three member "team" with Elita-Infinite. At which point it was too late for Greenlight.
I just started to tackle my WFC backlog and have found almost every other exclusive I wanted for "reasonable" after market prices, but greenlight isn't even just a price thing, she's almost impossible to find anywhere. In the UK there are simply none for sale at all. The one US only ebay listing I can see is $900... I guess I'll just have to go without her until more people start to sell them later down the line / her market crashes at some point. No way I'm spending much over $100 (which is still big money) on a figure like that.
This is one of those cases where I completely missed the boat and it’s too late. I’ll be damned to pay 500% markup for a two year old figure. At this rate, I would just repaint a Lancer and a Lionizer and call it a day. As long as I don’t have to see her head mold my wife can have her Orthia.
There are three Amazon sets where people really have a right to be mad: Coneheads, Prowl/Ironhide, and Ratchet/Paradon Medic. Greenlight is nothing like any of them, she was available for months, everyone who bought one got it, and it was only after the set was no longer available that the aftermarket value went up. The current price is absurd, but there was no overselling on Amazon's part, no underproducing on Hasbro's, and no onslaught of scalpers buying them up to flip them. Just a toy that had an unexpected aftermarket jump.
While I hope they bring back Dominus Pursuit/Barricade, it’s my fault for missing them, as I was buying kingdom and 86 when it came out, and when I could finally get it, it was gone.
