Still don't have my maneuver suits yet, so I can't line up the walls of my base like the rest of you guys I should be getting soon though! It's on its way. For the interim, here's how my base looks like, have to be creative with what I have really: The Keiko crab looks off yellow in picture, but actually looks the same in the eye as the service cranes. Also I like how the diabattles' shoulder cannon options can be used as an antenna. With arrangement, the Landcruiser's ramp fits like the picture above! Can't wait for the grander pod extension and the console addons so that I can have a wider space for the base and items to work with! sorry for the lack of dianauts manning the base, but what can you expect from a Diaclone corps' fringe regiment? Supplies and reinforcements are scare here
Don't suppose anyone knows a matching yellow paint for V-Max? Standard Takara high end paint apps and its missing a load on one of the knees!
My other purchase from yahoo Japan turned up yesterday and I was very relieved to confirm that this one did have an actual figure inside and that I now officially own a Big Powered GV! I ended up settling for the original over destroyer or IMS due to being able to find it for not horrendous prices, but having it in hand I'm really tempted to swap the hands out for a less awkward looking pair, and maybe give him some bigger shoulder cannons.Would anyone have any suggestions for compatible hands/weapons that wouldn't be too hard to source? Thinking of something like the Kotobukia MSG kits since they have a big hand set but not sure how I'd fit them
You'd have to mod them, but the cannon in this set should be a decent size. Not much bigger than the gatlings but still. 30 Minutes Missions Option Weapon #7 Weapon 1 For Rabiot Accessory Set
Just so you are aware and aren't surprised, the Kotoubkia MSG "big hand" set you mention, if we are thinking the same set ( M.S.G Heavy Weapon Unit 16: Overed Manipulator ), are Generation Metroplex sized and would be way too large for Big Powered. They also don't hold together too well and tend to fall apart under articulation. Basically pose them and leave them. I have a pair on my Metro fitted with a 3d printed wrist. I think there is a Hexagear set that might work ( Heavy Weapon Unit 28 Act Knuckle A Type ). I have no idea if they would be a good size cause they aren't released yet. But the kit they go with is pretty decent sized so the hands might be similar to Big Powered. In the end, nothing is really going to substitute for the actual Destroyer/IMS hands. As for the shoulder guns, anything with a 4mm peg will fit. MSG sets are all 3mm but you can either build up the peg via many different techniques or use one of the many 3mm to 4mm adapters that come with many of the Diaclone sets. MSG stuff is all meant for 1/144 scale and can sometimes be passable for 1/100. So, they may come off a bit on the small side. I mostly use kits that are missile launchers or gun turrets and they look good. But the hand held stuff doesn't work too well in my opinion. Some of the larger 30 minuet missions stuff might also work. But again, you will have to build up the pins or use an adaptor. It might be difficult to find something that is larger than the cannons that come with any version of Big powered.
Thanks! I hadn't realised the msg hands were quite so big as that so good to know. Also didn't realize that the pegs on all that stuff were 3mm, twitter pics had led me to believe they were 4mm and thus easily diaclone compatible.
Battle Convoy Vmax arrived yesterday. My meager set-up with stuff out of the box. Yeah..gonna have to go for a dianauts pack just to not have the base skeleton crew haha.
Oh no! I saw complaints about that in the thread previously. Yours was missing paint out of the box? I don't have mine yet but this worries me.
Mines not terrible but yeah, either it was missing out the package or in the 2 mins I let my kid look at it, it got scratched off, either are possible. Guess I'll take it to Games Workshop or something to try to find a colour match.
That looks like the paint never truly adhered to the plastic. It's apparently chipped rather than scratched. Golden Yellow may do it, but with the plastic being dark, it may need a few hits before it matches.
Yeah definitely looks chipped, which sadly you come to expect from premium Takara products these days.
There are dozens and dozens of complaints/warnings on Twitter, etc. about the yellow paint chipping off the knees from the transformation.
Love those designs and thrilled to get more Powered Suits. Is the number designation official? Also, is that a new Dia-Naut design?
Er, yeah, what the hell has happened to that dianaut. I'm a bit burned out on powered suits but these look nicer then some of the ones they've churned out lately.
I love the placement of the hips on the new ones, I’ve always been bothered by how far back the old ones were. I think they just misedited it when making the background solid white.
These look nice enough but the whole retro angle seems a bit redundant. Weren't DA-02 and DA-03 homages to the same thing?
