Also, Iunno, I like the new continuity a lot. Ive always wanted to see a series start from before the war and address the political situation before actually getting into it, so i think the pacing's fine. Then again, that's probably coming from my weebness of preferring longer form story telling to just constant action issue to issue

 

That works for an episodic series, but this is not one

 

Which raises the question why these are being released as individual issues rather than as graphic novels.

I don’t mind slow burners but with the amount of issues the story has had MTMTE had been through Dark Cybertron.

Ongoing narrative is a good thing but there still needs to be satisfying payoff before people lose interest. It’s like getting a novel with two chapters a month

iunno,I guess I don't really mind stories that move at a glacial pace, honestly I kinda prefer it, though i can certainly appreciate more episodic stuff as well

Also I know for a fact that if i was doing a tf story, it would be pretty slow getting to the war as well, probably not til chapter 100, tho I would say it'd have more action going on then the current run has so far, but I still like it for what it is

 

Similar to Zodd from the anime "Berserk".

 

I feel like this would be so much more compelling if she wasn’t awkwardly expositing to herself. Just show her with the sparking damage looking up and contemplating before trying to fly. The dialogue in this book is so hand-holdy, it doesn’t feel natural or tone-driven.

Also, don’t bats walk on all fours when they’re not flying? That’d be a lot better than going to robot mode. Also I guess this Beast Wars doesn’t have the internal repairs thing with beast modes. Odd.

Not only can bats walk on all fours, they gallop. It's not as fast as flying, sure, but it'd be far quicker than walking. I guess I can justify it with her still getting used to the new techno-organic qualities of her body, but you're absolutely right, she should still be able to get around in beast mode while grounded.

The first Wednesday of each month, at any rate. Most of the titles have been seeing delays lately, so I can only wonder what's going on behind the scenes.

 

I almost feel like that lineart would work better in Shattered Glass colors; it's more warlike than I'm used to seeing this Optimus Prime.

 

Got a point there, now it's the Cybertron-esqe Optimus with the axe that came with the Siege Toy (dunno where the axe from mine went)

To further my point, a share of IDW stock is 3.72... less than cover price of a comic. That’s laughable and has everything to the inept “creative” teams and the mental echochamber engendered by fans (maybe like you) who cheer on this shit, yet buy nothing, and drive off the masses.

 

The sheer absurdity of prime playing basketball is more amusing than idw’s garbage.

 

So then they're selling the same amount as RID/MTMTE? And thus that means they're doing fine if that's right.

 

I think it plays into something important that often isn't present in other versions of Optimus Prime. Too often he's the grave and serious leader of the Autobots, who's all grave and serious, or he's secretly wracked with crippling guilt and self doubt. But well "Don't try to be tough. You are strong enough to be kind". It's the moments like the basketball spinning that make cartoon Optimus feel more relatable to me. Because hey, he's just messing with a Basketball like any normal guy would. And back when he was Orion Pax in the cartoon he was about as blue collar as you can get.

 

if the new book were to be summarised, it would feel like it would be an interesting book to read. But actually reading it, it’s a slow tedious chore. These are characters I’ve known all my life, and they’re boring me.

 

Surprised no one brought it up yet, but the previews for MLP/TF II #2 is out and it's already my favorite issue
