Titans return was an epic line it's really hard to say I pretty much got a mould for every one, top for me was Six shot, Overlord, PM Optimus prime but the legends version Hasbros is half backed!

Trypticon, no doubt was a great figure. And my favorite Titan until Scorponok came out.

But overall, probably one of the best things about it was that even the legends toys could house the titan masters as passengers. The best were guys like Beachcomber and Brawn.

I think one of the best strenghts of TR was the selection of characters, mainly obscure or later G1, that has been mostly lost in mainline WFC. It also started the "master" price point with TMs and I think those ones are the most fun and interactive little guys. Every figure being capable of being piloted by the lil dudes was an awesome call back to the franchises origins in Diaclone.

I'm particularly fond of the second year of TR (wave 3 and up). I'm really fond of TR Hot Rod and having the diecast Rodimus TM was a nice bonus. Even if its outdated now, I really like the TR Megatron, especially its jet mode.

I also liked how it had a built in "pre Gen Selects" in characters like Quake, Sentinel Prime, Krok and the ones that came in the boxsets like Nautica and Metalhawk.

As others have said, most legends and Deluxes are really great.

Twin Twist and Top Spin are probably in my top ten favorite transformers figures ever made. I have multiples of each and they tend to be something I always have on display.

the decepticons jet trio is also really excellent.

anyways, the real answer is “Everything”

...and I’ve never even SEEN one :cry

I still kick myself for the Takara Legends releases I passed on, I should have at least got wave 4/5 deluxes when it became obvious they weren’t going to make it to retail

(I did get the 86 guys... Kup/Blurr/Hot Rod/Magnus, Blaster and a few others, but was buying less towards the end there...)

I think everything legends and above has already been accounted for but lets not forget the single release titan masters. Seriously the Crashbash/Clobber/Overboard mold is one of the best pocket fiddle toys around. There's also Shuffler, Fangry, Ramhorn(if you can find him), Apeface, and Not-Terribull(I forgot the name they rebranded him with).

    *raises hand*

Yeah I said F it and just went for the Legends. Pretty damn good decision since she comes with her sword and a bonus targetmaster. Personally I like her paint deco more then the TR version even if the differences are only minute.

Ya the multiples consist of the legends versions and the US versions. The legends ones go with my wreckers and the others are more for fidgeting.

I’m really hoping they get a rerelease for those of you who don’t have them. They really should be included with these retro packaged headmaster rereleases.

it does seem like the "rare' releases make 2 more obvious waves (Topspine/Twintwist/Perceptor/'con Target Masters)

irritatingly, I haven't seen those at retail either, because the Walmarts I have available are an absolute wasteland

As mentioned by multiple others, the deluxes really shine for this line, with Trypticon being the star from the other size classes.

My own top-tier faves from what I have: Brainstorm, Triggerhappy, Top Spin, Trypticon

Second tier: Rumble, Hardhead, Chromedome, Mindwipe, Sixshot, Overlord, Shuffler

Third tier: Skullsmasher, Slugslinger, Hot Rod, Astrotrain, Fortress Maximus, most of the other mini ones

Meh: Scourge, Blitzwing, Repugnus (the mini one)

Ones that I'd like more if not for QC/design issues: Weirdwolf, Octane

I don't think this can be overstated enough. The joy of TR was how many characters got updates for the first time (and for a lot of them possibly the only time they'll ever get done), despite still shoe-horning in Prime/Megatron/Soundwave/Bumblebee (hey, no Starscream ;)  but he got 2 releases in CW if you count Unite Warriors Ghost Starscream) I do suppose that technically that was the first Soundwave, the others being the horrible WFC game designs)

but for all my griping about rehashes (and rehashes of rehashes) of characters in WFC, I do give them credit: they have hit some delightful obscure, undone, or underdone characters like
Cog, Sixgun, Flywheels, Spinister, Omega Supreme, Micromaster bases, all the Diaclone homages they've done in selects, the first true Huffer and (and even though I hate it) Cliffjumper in CHUG (as in, not a red Bumblebee or Cliffjumper head stuck on another mold)

Blitzwing is pretty good (especially with the Legends color scheme, used to be easily available as a KO or unauthorized factory run but they seemed to be getting pretty scarce by the time I ordered mine) and holds up well with WFC figures. He might technically be a bit big but I like him that way. The tank mode is eh but the jet mode looks fantastic the robot mode is really cool and imposing. Given the rumors of him getting a new figure in 2022 I'd hold off on getting one though, that one will probably have better articulation if nothing else.

I loved Titans Return when it was released. I grew up on G1 but as a kid I really only remembered all of the 84-85 crew and some of 1986. I had fun learning more about later G1 characters that I knew nothing about like Misfire, Slugslinger, Triggerhappy, mindwipe, etc. I was 7 years old when the Transformers the movie came out. The movie traumatized me and I stopped watching Transformers after they killed off many of the main crew at the time.

I bought all of TR and it was cool and I found it so satisfying to diversify my collection out of the 1984-1985 cast. Titans Return gets a big thumbs up for me due to all the new characters that got new toys since their original toy release

Octane has QC issues? Recently got him second-hand, the only issues I've seen on him are that the joints are pretty tight, though it's likely that's just age (he was displayed in tanker mode, and the cab nose was pretty dusty). That, the wing connectors don't want to stay tabbed in in robot mode, and the cab's annoying to clip together. But otherwise, he's really solid, and he's likely going to stay as the definitive Octane until Hasbro redoes him in like 5 years.

My favorite: Legends G2 Megatron (Archforce) with a BW-Megatron Headmaster that has the armor to make him Savage, Noble, or a gun for Archforce!

This one figure spurred my imagination more than any other. It's like a backstory for BW-Megatron that's built-in to the figure.

Mine did. One half of the truck cab/shoulder pylons snapped off instead of bent during the first transformation. The amount of force it took to move it was more than the connector could take. I'm of the opinion that I got a pretty bad individual figure - I haven't heard of that happening for other people's Octanes. Nonetheless, it colored my impression of the figure. I really like it aside from that.

Just saying, if someone needs an Octane, I saw him on eBay yesterday for $30, with card and instructions.
