I looked up that jb plastic weld, good stuff! I read the specs and have the exact stuff but under 3M and I can tell you that I used it on a newer sportbike airbox that came apart at the seam separating the top from bottom. That stuff cured so hard and solid that I could not crack or chip some of the excess that managed to drip. If you clean the areas of where any posts broke and can scuff the plastic, the bond will be insane! Because it is in a two part syringe you can always use just a drop to test it on something so you can see the results. If you have something that's broken and happens to come apart with plastic mounting posts inside, you can break them and do a full endurance test run so you know exactly what to do when it's time for bot surgery.

So i just opened up the left leg again, since every post broke in that one, and all the posts broke up at the top of the post right where the screws ended. There's a lot of post under it but the tops snapped free and still have the screws in the pieces that broke off. I also noticed a nice crack lower on one of the posts that I didn't notice before. I'm definitely going to need longer screws but IDK what kind to get, especially since i'm afraid they'll crack what's left. All I know is i'm gonna have to shore up those posts no matter whatever else I do.

Do you have a digital caliper? Since there is plenty of post left what I would do is 1. Use some epoxy and glue the tops back on and reinforce any cracks forming. 2. Use calipers to measure the shank of the existing screw to know what size and get longer with that self tapping edge like I pictured and mentioned earlier. 3. Get a drill bit the exact size of the shank of the screws to run in the posts to clear material if it's too thick in there. These posts are cracking because of too much pressure on every bit of surface area as they are being forced in when new.

No, no calipers but i've been planning on getting some very soon anyway because I need them for my 3d printer. But yeah, that sounds like a good plan. I saved the chart too. Thanks!

Is this the perfect edition? If so I might test stripping the paint off mine with Dettol.

The longer screws honestly are just for peace of mind the jb weld will hold fine ...my tip is this cut the screw posts if you want..what you want is enough on the piece the screw enters in to thread it through..you want as much as possible on the receiving side so it can thread in that side..you dont need the whole post..also do not put weld in the posts..hope that helps

Removing the silver off the Perfect Edition Constructor with Dettol.

It worked. After 16 hours of soaking the parts in undiluted Dettol, the paint turned dark grey and was relatively easy to remove with a tooth brush. HOWEVER DO NOT WASH THE PARTS UNTIL ALL PAINT IS SCRUBBED OFF. Water will turn the paint into a sticky sludge and it'll give you a lot of grief. Use a deep container so you can brush without fear of splatter, do it far away from things you don't want chemicals to get on, and wear gloves and ideally eye protection.

But I can confirm that it will work and the plastic under the paint is green that matches the rest of the figure.

A follow up to my previous post. Dettol works because the active ingredient is 4.8% Chloroxylenol. So if you find a product with the same main ingredient, you can use it over Dettol, I just happen to have access to it in an affordable way.

After seeing Arkines post I looked it up and apparently this is a very widespread method to stripping various paints and varnish from plastic models and does NOT harm the plastic so it's pretty amazing! Guys were praising it because using it allowed them to restore models without any of the molded detail being ruined. I've never heard of the stuff before and not readily sold at many stores from what I can see but lucky that a kitchen supply 2 miles from me has it so I will be picking some up.

I've soaked mine in it for a combined 20 hours so far and the plastic is unharmed. Be warned that you'll have to use a brush to get the paint off for this figure at least. I'll be soaking it again later since there are traces of silver in the nooks and cranies and using water will cause the paint to gunk up. I suspect its because its enamel.
I saw the warhammer people use it on pewter and plastic minis, which is why I went for it. I have a pair of yellow thighs I can paint green or silver if I messed up so I wasn't concerned.

But I can confirm without a doubt that the plastic is not brittler or discolored in any way after almost a full day of soaking.

@Arkine Just to be clear. You're talking about the orange antiseptic liquid Dettol, correct?

This stuff is the go to liquid

It can be confusing at first because it's a brand name and they make many products. I was temporarily thrown off when I looked further into this then many people specified this bottle.

While I was looking around about paint removal I also saw that Superclean and L.A.'s Totally Awesome are also effective at removing paint. I guess they're similar products but they apparently work pretty well on multiple kinds of paint. Plus you can get gallon containers fairly cheap compared to the Dettol.

I bought a 250ml (8 oz) of the Dettol stuff off of eBay for $10 to give it a shot, though. We'll see how that goes.

Oh wow, that's a little more expensive! The local store near me sells the 550ml bottle for $8.99. For a one time event it's no big deal with the price, but if this would be something to do more frequently, I would definitely like larger quantities at better prices.

Hello wonderful Community...I am new here and Nice to meet you all. I have a thought that I want to pass on to the Community.

I purchased a Cell Shade Constructor from ShowZ and when it arrived, it was missing all the Additional Deluxe parts. Cell shade Wheel Jack, Metal tracks and Additional Head. I have written ShowZ about the missing Parts only to get a response saying, "We will let Toyworld know." I still see ShowZ having the same item for sale 3 or 4 times after I bought mines. My Conclusion is that THEY may be selling the Non Deluxe set advertised as the Deluxe set and others like me are in the same boat waiting for missing Parts that Never did came with the Non Deluxe set. I'm really hoping this is Not the case for ShowZ has been very Reputable and on Point.
