Messed up, but people saying she should have her spine broken as punishment is also messed up.

Some folks just deserve a little eye for an eye, tooth for tooth kinda punishment. This is one of those cases IMHO.

Yeah I think any "eye for an eye" punishment is just petty revenge and makes any person clamoring for it a lesser human being.

Not to mention that proper "eye for an eye" punishment would actually just be humiliating her, since last time I checked, she didn't make him paralyzed.

She is gonna lose her job and possibly get a legal mark on her personal record. I am not sure it will be a felony or if it could be a felony.

People do bad things and should be held accountable but the idea but the concept of taking a single mistake and suing someone to dust is a bit much sometimes.

I agree, plus, despite his arm movement look at his modified wheelchair. It is a non-electric chair. If he had limited hand dexterity how could he move his chair? He'd have to depend on others all the time or have enough upper arm strength to move himself which is possible with quadriplegics.

A paraplegic is one who is paralyzed from the waist down. Being a quadriplegic can refer to someone who has paralysis above the lumbar region of the spine.

Likely not. She may lose her job but I'd be my bottom dollar she'd not be punitively punished. If at all, she may just be transferred to another police or sheriff's department somewhere else in the state. Cops protect cops, but hate dirty cops or if one cop testifies against another.

Maybe someone will end up going Boondock Saints on her ass.

Saw the interview on television this morning. It is rather apalling to see such a display of neglegence on the part of the deputy. The level of indifference is quite astonishing to see in our society, especially at a place where we depend on folks to protect us.

Wow. I heard about this on the radio this morning and couldn't believe it. Now I read it and see the video (sorta) and I'm sick to my stomach. That bitch needs to be fired, at least.

Personally, since she made an ass of herself on camera, the punishment should fit the crime. she should be forced to stand in either a busy intersection in Downtown or in a rough neighborhood in uniform with a sandwich board that proclaims:
"I am an abusive cop. I do not serve, nor do i protect. I beat up cripples, so I don't give a damn about you."

She should wear that from 6 a.m. till 6 p.m. every day for a month. then lose her job.

Now that's more like a punishment. Anybody that wants to see her paralyzed is a terrible person/

I stated he was the first shooter who actually aimed, therefor establishing that unlike other shooters, he REALLY wanted to make sure people died.

Regardless, admitting a positive skill about a negative person is nothing compared to wanting to see someone paralyzed for life. It's a good thing people didn't ignore every negative thing I said about the shooter and shooting, or else it would just make every look ignorant and childish. Oh wait.

I really hope she looses her job. I hate seeing shit like this. As a C/O it's really upsetting because of how bad a rep we already get.

    Ouch! This is brutal!
What's even more shocking to me was the fact that the other people that witnessed the situation showed complete indifference. A crippled was dumped on the floor and no one shows feelings?
Even if the guy was making harsh comments or mocking the woman, which i'm no saying he was, no officer of the law should behave like this.
    Unforgivable.

That's the really concerning part: that everyone else in the room handled it like it was totally routine. Again, nothing would be happening right now if the reporter hadn't investigated at the handicapped guy's request.

I worry that this was one of those things that was done regularly - and is only now facing public scrutiny and outcry. Makes me worry how many of these types of actions are still going on out there. :(
