A low point?? It literally saved and resurrected the Transformers Franchise. You can thank everything we have today to what Beast Wars did.

I assume it's because of his loyalty.

Megatron didn't really surround himself with his physical equals...Dinobot was the closest, yet he was still somewhat smaller and weaker (and he got kicked off the team as soon as he challenged Megatron, unlike Terrorsaur, whose treachery was tolerated due to the ease with which Megatron could physically dominate him)...and that was probably by design. Megatron is an egomaniac who wants to be in complete control.

I feel the same way about Bubmblebee, Cyberverse, RID15, BotBots, Titans Return, and anything else post-Transformers Prime.

This Scorponok looks better than any crap from those lines.

Why is Scorponok on wave 3 but Airrazor on wave 2? :(

(Not hating on Airrazor, I bought her too. But if Scorponok was on wave 2, it means I can get him faster :D  )

I thought Titans Return looked ugly too - so I mostly went with the Takara Legends repaints which looked a whole lot better.

Something cool about Beast Wars was it was the second computer animated cartoon ever made, and maybe was the most popular with that animation technology/style.

Second computer animated cartoon made by Mainframe maybe, but as for second ever made... I think you might need to look up Insektors. I totally agree it was the best though ;)

I should've specified "visually." I loved the Mainframe ReBoot cartoon to death. I still quote it, and so does my son, who has no idea what it is, because I quote it so much. But that show had the advantage of the subject matter meshing with what our conception of what the inside of a computer should look like in the 90's, haha. Not to date myself.

I like show-accuracy, which this obviously has, but I guess the design for Scorponok just doesn't have the presence or... "je ne sais quoi"? that say, BW Megatron exudes.

It has better graphics than some shows that came later. The first season was rough but the later seasons looked decent.

There are three post-G1 tent posts that have saved the franchise. It’s sad that we needed them, but they’ve been confirmed by various Hasbro people at various Botcons.

Beast Wars (Transformers was basically dead and they shunted it to the Kenner folks to try to save it and it succeeded beyond expedition)

Armada (After the dismal failure of BM toys, Hasbro wasn’t sure they could handle another failure with Transtech, so they then worked out a deal with Takara to make a new series using the resources of both companies. It was hugely successful as we know)

Transformers 2007 movie (This didn’t save the franchise as much as the other two, but it infused a HUGE amount of revenue of the likes never seen before)

Missing the secret formula of RID 2001 which sold gangbusters even if it was just releases of past molds with a new deco

RID01 was just filler until Armada was ready. They didn’t have enough CarRobots toys to fill the entire gap, so they started making more repaints and other figures to fill in the remaining time.

given the extensive paint jobs on the RiD’01 toys, I’m happy with how things turned out. Sky-Byte would have been a premium figure by today’s standards.

I have my issues with a lot of the Kingdom toys (including this one) but if you can't look at the original Beast Wars toys and not think they're really damn fun, with the massively improved articulation, firing missiles, spring-loaded animal helpers (Cyber-Bees or Batscouts) firing discs, motorized Cyber-Slash Tail Weapons, and more than a few robot mode heads that clearly kept the classic Transformers design aesthetic (the ones that had Mutant Heads, at least...) I don't know what to tell you.

    They're good toys.

That actually does make good sense. Then you look at Primal's team, and he's got several guys bigger than him. Very interesting.

Selling the Movies short. While I think they were trashy for the most part, I think it did more than save it. Transformers 2007 TRANSFORMED the franchise in a very real way. It introduced the world to Transformers and elevated it to one of the most powerful toy brands in the world.

Yeah, I'd say Beast Wars and Armada saved the franchise (each on their own) and the movies launched it to new heights, putting it out of harm's reach for the foreseeable future.
