I’d be up for that too. Megatronia is one of my favorite combiners.

 

I could see Elita getting a further retool as Slipstream and getting seeker limbs since Takara has stock Seeker limbs and Conehead limbs.

The Takara version is the clear winner here it's just Hungrrr who suffers a little from lack of detail in beast mode. I kinda prefer the style of the POTP hands though for the spiky knuckles? Shame they're not colour matched.
I might Frankenstein my Hungrrr dragon heads and tail to get the pink details carried over, the colours are slightly out but no too dissimilar. Or just need to match that pink paint colour.

Also exercise caution with Hungrrr when tabbing together for his combined mode, I've bust one of the tabs of the inside of one of the dragon heads where it pegs to the torso (I've never broke a transformer in my 35yrs of collecting),
There's enough other tabs to hold it all together that is hasn't really effected anything but still I recommend a quick file as those tabs are not quite as rounded off as the POTP version.

... Just noticed POTP Cutthroat's head has fallen off... again.

 

Improving stability for Abominus

GS Cutthroat isn't much better. I did fix GS Cutthroat's alt mode head problems but requires a little bit of modding skills.

 

Having the Hungrrr heads on the legs actually helps make the proportions look a little nicer, Takara should have considered making some of their own for the set.

 

Is the Selects version any better?

 

No. Likes to pop off very easily when being handled.

 

With the proper tools and some modding skills, the head is actually fixable. I put details in my review thread:

Actually the head hasn't popped off on the Selects version yet.
... But the stability is worse and I've already broken a tab on Hungrrr as they are not at rounded on the corners as the Hasbro one.
I have typically found the QC on the Takara variants is always a bit questionable.

I really like the look of this Abominus over the PotP version but definitely not enough to double dip. Now if Hasbro ever decided to release Hun-gurr separately with the new hands, feet, and shield accessory I would be all over it. Probably could say the same with Grimlock from the Takara Volcanicus set too.

 

I would like to see a mass Ross-TJMAXX release of both at Christmas. I’d buy the shiz out of both
