This review shows a way to do Scarlet's bike mode without having to remove her hands! So for those of you who might be a little irked by that sort of thing, there is another option.

What's cool is the 3mm compatibility on some joints (which was also on Nicee), so there's plenty of customization option with Gunpla parts.

Cancelled my BBTS preorder to get it on ShowZ. But now the full set is sold out there. Still cheaper to get the individuals there than BBTS, but is there any chance that ShowZ would get more preorders in for the set?

 

Speculation here: The fact they're still selling them individually means they have "stock," (in quotes because I don't think they've actually been released to retailers yet) so maybe ShowZ has just decided to stop providing the discount bundle? In which case, "getting more in stock" would seem unlikely. The bundle, then, would basically amount to having been an early bird discount. Though maybe they had decided to sell a certain number of discounted bundles, which they've now reached, and when it comes time for people who've put their deposit on the bundle to pay the full price, when some percentage of people inevitably don't, maybe some bundles will be freed up for sale. But I would hardly count on that

Same, ordered from there back in October just before the release changed. Can't hardly believe how great they've turned out! Any day now though.

 

Huh, that's a lot more partsforming than I was expecting. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a bit of a letdown (especially how many parts you need to remove on Thunder for the powerup jacket, which don't seem to have a place to go? And the fact Scarlet needs an additional adaptor to connect for the regular 4-way combo is always going to be a little iffy as far as combining figures go), but the individual figures still seem really solid.

It's hard to say it lives up to the art when it comes to the combos though, Scarlet's head proportions specifically throw the standard combined mode off a lot in a way that's going to take a bit to get used to. I kind of wish they'd found a way to fit a smaller head inside of Scarlet's chibi one, but that's not to say it's bad, just something to get used to. And wishful thinking is just that, wishful thinking. Just need to abjust my expectations a bit now that we can actually see what they're going for.

Now just to wait for HLJ to get theirs in to fulfill my preorder

I'm glad I can ignore those sorts of things. With everything they've managed to pack into these figures, a little bit of inelegance is a small price to pay, to me.

I still find it hard to believe these exist. It's like a dream, but I never would've dreamed of so much. Mega Man Zero-tinged artstyle, mahou shoujo, robo musume, transforming, combining figures, with an anime, and with a comedic, more mature tone (if the comics are anything to go by). It's such a confluence of perfection.

 

I don't mind the partsforming since both combined forms do it. It's less here's perfect mode to here's another one (and given the dragon is numbered differently I'll hold out hope there will be others).

 

Yeah I would have much preferred no parts being removed. I don’t mind partsforming at all, but so long as they have a place to go. This doesn’t seem to be the case. I’m sure I’ll get over it once they’re in hand. Hopefully ShowZ gets them in and out quickly.

 

personally I always thought partsforming would be inevitable given that this is one part transformer to one part Super Sentai-esque Gattai. Those all had stuff taken apart and thrown to the side since the beginning.

I can't wait. This is like the best thing ever. And I love the look of these figures, so glad I caved on them because I need more unique figures like this in my life. There are only so many Bumblebees a man can take before he says ENOUGH IS ENOUGH Hasbro! Where's the new characters, the interesting ideas, the risk? This, is risky, and fun, and cute, and like several layers of fun. I hope they make more, so many more. Nicee's little cousins are coming soon, get ready for the onslaught folks. On that note, it may be worth listing all the characters we know of so far.
There's the beetle samurai they've been showing off colorless prototypes of lately.

Everyone's favorite (right?) black cat girl, who they've shown a little colored prototype figure work of, but nothing for awhile. It's also worth noting that she has been shown to function as part of the main combiner, though whether or not she has to replace one of the original 4 isn't clear to me.

Then there's the ones we've only seen illustrations of so far: The truck who hauls her own human form upgrade pack, the policewoman, and the fox.

Lastly, there's a couple characters who've only appeared in the comic strips; a snake girl and one I can't tell what she's supposed to be:

I think that's all of them. There's some other works Iceberg has posted in the same style, which haven't been stated to be part of the Magic Henshin brand, such as the Hatsune Miku racecar transformer, the genderswapped Optimus, and the Chinese zodiac-based new year celebration characters. It can be confusing, so be sure to check for a Magic Henshin or BFB tag on Iceberg's posts.

 

That kitsune one is so cute <3 Also it looks like she has a super mode as well.
