he is, but Rattrap is the height of Blackarachnia. i love these kingdom figures, but they're definitely not aiming for accurate scaling.
Uh yeah, and? I'm not talking about his original toy, and he wasn't a full head shorter than Blackarachnia and Cheetor in the show. Not a huge deal and he still looks great (and as Dachande and others have noted, him being small doesn't feel off).
With so much product out there this year and nothing but rehashed characters in updated forms being put out for Kingdom, I'm being more picky in what I'm purchasing. Unfortunately, this guy isn't making the cut (nice review by the way). The hype and excitement I had for him has now been replaced by garish colors (the cartoon was way more muted), too much visible robot leg kibble in beast mode for my taste, and just an overall cheap vibe. I'm cancelling my pre-order. Still waiting patiently for some original characters/storylines to come down the pipeline
I feel it's not his size, but how his torso is designed that bugs me. Instead of going from a wide torso, to a thinning abdomen, into his crotch, the abdomen is gone and he just goes from chonk to groin, which just looks off to me. Anyway, what really bothers me is his beast mode leg storage. Way too haphazard. Definitely hope a 3P kit fixes that. Regardless, I still plan on grabbing one. Looks nice otherwise.
Kinda wish that purple was more of a blue/grey. Otherwise I will be looking forward to getting this. I sure also someone is going to be making thigh extensions.
There seems to be some kind of confusion. From what I've gathered, it's true that he's sponsored by a UK distributor (store?), Zavvi.com. But it's got nothing to do with Hasbro. These figures, he's getting from somewhere else. How do I know? I went down the rabbit hole and returned with the figures to prove it: FUN FACT: Voyager Class figures are handled by a different factory, that's why you almost never see early reviews of those. Primal, Dinobot, Inferno... No reviews until they were officially released.
It's always the purples! My kingdom for more blue-hue purples! Liking the look of this fig, though - no major gripes from me. Of all the Beasties we've seen/received in Kingdom so far, Cheetor's the only one that I really wish had been given a second pass before release.
He looks good but wiw there's a lot of hollowness there. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't cover him with so many massive holes. I don't normally complain about this but it seems egregious on this figure. Still, he's well done aside from that and I do plan on picking him up eventually.
Well that would explain things. Black Arachnia is probably too big. I wish Hasbro would have done more of these in Core Class size. It's looking like Rattrap is going to be the lone little guy. I'll still get Scorponok because he is cool. I always liked him. I was surprised how big Airazor was when I got her. She's taller than Cheetor.
EZ Pass for me. Looks like Airazor is the last BW figure that I'll be getting from this line unless her and Blackarachnia get some decent repaints that are troop worthy. Once again, this right here would be an epic retool:
His torso sculpting does seem to have a bit of taper to it, but the lower hinges sticking out ruins the effect. Makes it look more like a square torso sitting on top of his hips. Either pulling off the taper better, or making him a bit taller (ideally both) would've helped tremendously. Still, he looks good enough for my purposes. He always felt like a bumbling doofus trying to act tough on the show, and the awkward proportions don't really hurt this view of him.
