May 19th. IDW keeps releasing all these solicitations but at this rate, I'll be dead by the time they get to this issue. To all my fellows in the comics section, Guess I'll see you all in 3032 as a zombie.
This is like the opposite of Optimus Prime #17 and #18 when people and sites tried to hide #18's preview.
ROFL, now instead of the traditional previews of "walking and talking" we've got holograms "standing and talking". These previews have practically become a meme at this point.
I don’t even need to say the line anymore. I’ve rallied the anti-walking/talking crowd of TFW2005 against the comic. I remember when comic books opened with action for the first few pages, a full page spread for the first or second page to really grab the readers attention. Then going to the story and set-up a few pages in after the opening action scene. An opening where the characters are talking to each other isn’t inherently bad by itself, but doing it too often just gets boring and does not grab the readers attention. Imagine being a G.I Joe fan reading a comic where the Joes and/or Cobra are just standing around talking to each other instead of shooting each other - with the writer seemingly avoiding and delaying getting to the full-on war storyline as long as they can -when the reader rightfully wants the war story. That’s what this feels like.
Megatron speaks of the future and the Cyberton he and his army will rule. While standing in the blasted ruins he made. This seems so very fitting for where they are going with him in this series so far. Also wow, we\'re already at issue 30.
Optimus Prime values all life, and a flower in a desolate wasteland is generally a good way of conveying that since WWI. I don't see the issue here at all. The art for the cover itself on the other hand. Ehh, I'd say meh at best.
(I thought it was all *sentient beings*) Either way, I remember a time when a transformers comic would have Optimus Prime on the cover, blasting his fellow autobots in the face, and those books sold millions. There is no excitement here. None. I feel your point is valid, but mine is well. IDW must go on hormone replacement of something for low T, because this shit is so boring that I’m seriously worried about my favorite franchise.
Don't worry we'll get that soon. As for the series it is still selling enough to be on issue 30 now, so really it's just to wait and see if it still is by the time of if reaches issue 50, since that was when MTMTE and not-RID relaunched to boost dropping sales. If it does then that means the run will relaunch and you'll hopefully fined better luck and enjoyment with the next run and/or writer. As for IDW itself losing the Transformers comics, I could see that happening if the Transformers comics themselves start underperforming drastically that Hasbro takes it to someone else, rather than say another Dreamwave happening anytime soon.
Pfft, I remember a time when the Cartoon would have Optimus randomly playing with a Basketball and was watched by millions more (assuming you weren't the UK with your weekly strips). So clearly we need an issue of Optimus playing with a basketball, while shooting flowers that are his fellow Autobots. Then everybody gets what they want.
