Well there is always that appeal to troop building that comes with repaints.

Another is well everyone has a favorite animal right? Cheetor and Tigatron can give us various other big cats: leopard, jaguar (Shadow Panther), snow leopard (Nightprowler), cougar, and lion (this one would be a retool). So if you want to collect some big cat transformers there you go.

Same with Airazor from her mold we can get various birds like an eagle (Skywarp/Silverbolt) or a crow (Filch).

Plus it'd be a good way for Hasbro to test how well BW sells by introducing new characters (or non-show guys like Buzz Saw and Lazorbeak) through repaints before moving on to completely new molds (which would cost more).

 

i'm 100% expecting them to happen next year, apparently they originally planned for tigatron to be a deluxe but wanted to do them properly as a voyager but in order to do that they had to shelf one of the planned voyagers and they went with polar claw

 

I don't know if that's a good example, i mean, dogs usually chase their own tails when you point a laser on it, or when they are overly bored or frustr...

This may not be strictly on point to what you're saying, but part of the appeal in the new Beast Wars figures for me is the sense that Hasbro is going all in--not just dropping a couple characters, but really fleshing out the series. It means I can start building a good set and get enough characters I like to fill it out. Repaints are part of that, and they can be enjoyable. If there's a mold I really enjoy, it can be fun to see it in another color scheme. Also, since I collect for my four kids to play with, too, repaints give me more options for them to play with. And for whatever reason, they love those repaints.

 

I love what's currently happening (Netflix, SG) but I wish we could get SOMETHING teased. Anything to make me actually believe they'll be UT characters after Kingdom. I still don't think I really believe it, tbh.

I got that Matrix Workshop Arcee M-34 weapon's pack for my Netflix Elita-1. It's pretty sweet.

Likewise, I'm very happy with Dr. Wu's Chatter (Beastbox & Squawktalk). I hope they do more; I can't wait on Hasbro to decide to get around to the lesser known cassettes.

 

I really want to see the Sweeps. Two of them as guardsmen for Scourge world look amazing on my shelf. The possible Bulkhead also has me pumped. I really hope that we learn more sooner than later

They said they want to "complete groups." What groups do they need to complete that they have already started (as of WFC)?

Reportedly 84 minibots are a "group" of themselves. But that would mean 85 minibots too, no?

And if they complete 84 in the next couple years, they should pretty much have 86 done through Selects.

With Astrotrain and Blitzwing, they pretty much have to do Octane as well at some point.

Does Springer alone necessitate the Autobot triple changers, or does he "group" more with the 86 movie bots? I mean if they added Sandstorm then you'd "need" Broadside, but it feels to me like they could get away with ignoring both.

Crosshairs would imply the need for Autobot targetmasters, especially since they've done the Decepticons. And speaking of, there's a number of targetmaster weapons that could use doing - a new box set ala the WFC spy cassettes would be nice.
