I'm never buying a CrazyDevy kit again. Bought a Predaking sword and the chrome plating was awful. Fortunately it was on sale / clearance. Edit: The cannon extension was also a complete joke and involved forcefully squeezing an oversized notched tube into the barrel. This doesn't look any better than the DNA kit and has worse color matching.
Man, they've stuck with their guns on overcharging. It'll be interesting to see if coming out of retirement was worth it for them.
It's cute that Crazy Devy still thinks they're relevant in this day and age. Not that they were ever particularly so, but they at least had an (overpriced) niche with the G1 stuff. This is just sad, when you can get the entire suite of parts in one go and for like, 1/10th the price from DNA.
Its actually 43,44,45,46,47,48,49,50....for 400 bucks for some small addons. This is the first ive seen of crazy devy...but are they out of their damned mind?
Well good to see that this leopard hasn't changed it's spots. Only when BBTS put a bunch of their stuff on clearance years ago did I pick up anything. Thankfully we have DNA Designs and others to get our upgrade fix.
As I alluded to earlier, when the 3P marketplace was fairly young several years ago, they used to have a niche business selling "upgrade" kits for G1 Combiners, giving them articulation and such. Their prices were always that nutty, but they were the only name in the game doing that, so they pulled in some business (although I suspect the majority of their units sold during clearance sales, so I dunno why BBTS et al continue to put up with their nonsense). Now the marketplace has changed dramatically. Articulation kits for G1 Combiners isn't as appealing anymore now that we have properly articulated renditions of those characters on the market. They seem to be stubbornly adhering to their old business model while adapting to the modern pace, but I can't see how that holds in the face of much stiffer competition with way better pricing schemes.
They sold out fairly quickly in my memory (actually, pretty sure they even did reruns for some sets). Seeing these guys back is almost a joke. But eh, good luck to them.
All these pieces added up cost more than SS Devastator and what they do is equal to what DNAs $60 kit does. It’s nice to see crazydevy can be a joke in the 2020s like they were in the 2010s
