Having owned the Terrorcons when I was a kid I was excited to see a 20 inch representation and was almost all in despite having so little info on the combined form and Hun-Grrr, but after seeing a thorough review that showed Astaroth in leg form being shorter than MP Skids, I had to nope out. The could still have some pretty cool partsforming that gives leg height to the figures tho, so I'm keeping an eye out as the figures look really good.

 

I was a bit disappointed too when I realised after I got Leviathan that it was going to probably be similar height to their Piranacon. Definitely won't be displaying the combined mode next to Cang's predaking when they are both finished, it'll look like a dwarf  

 

I hope TFC realise that there is a market for MP stylized bots.

So my S01 Astaroth some how went from being in stock and paid for in my stack at TFS to being "pre-ordered" and not paid for in my stack. If anyone is still ordering from TFS you might want to check your stacks.

isnt the whole problem with oversizing any of these older scale combiners is the weight and lack of stability? Look at the Jinbao OS Rex, and YES Model OS Guardia. Once this gets to a certain size, the larger scale sabatoges itself in combine mode.

 

There should be some design changes of course.

 

thats the funny thing with these 4th party OS companies, they go bigger and undercut the original figure by more than half of the original set and then you end up with bad joints. Maybe a few more bucks and some proper designed and toleranced ratchets would make these sets properly sorted out. I get it though its a KO of a 3P fig, so cant expect too much lol.

 

There are cases where this happens too. Jinbao's Warbotron replaced a lot of the friction joints with hard ratchets that make a world of difference. The OSKO bayverse constructicons have also gotten improved joints amongst other design changes. Ditto a lot of things made by the former Wei Jiang (RIP).

 

I guess weijiang was the exception to the rule, but their problem was KO'ing Hastak releases lol. Other than MP from Takara and the Titans from Hasbro, I dont collect main line or Bayverse stuff, so their whole release catalogue did not appeal to me.

At the end of the day, we want these smallish 3P combiners to be KO'd proper and have all issues sorted out that the original set couldnt figure out. First world plastic problems amirite? lol

 

Too true. lol. Best I could do is make thigh extensions for the leg bots similar to Generation Toys' approach with Gravity Builder.

Reputable, yes, but the Mascot group has quite a history of listing things as "in stock" or "ready to ship" way before they actually do. Still, while their information is somewhat misleading, it does offer a strong indication that sellers will very likely be getting stock pretty soon.

Also, that listing you linked specifically says they do not have it now, but will ship it once they do.

Yeah, I can see Lucifer getting released at the end of the month. We'll probably get some shots of Hun Gurr then.

 

Idk I think Piranacon and Abominus being short is fine. I like my combiners in a ton of different size ranges not all the exact same height. Height doesn't equal strength.

 

Ironically, i'd prefer the monstrous combiner not to be a monstrous size. The FT stunticons are amazing, but i have to have them on their own shelf, same with the CANG bots.
