As many of you know, I had been designing and selling Transformers items through Shapeways for the past few years. I recently setup my own in-home print shop, and am doing all of my own production and selling through Etsy.

Through this new storefront, I'm launching a product line I've been quietly working on for a while, called "Epcessories". Epcessories is a line of Legends scale accessories, figures, and display pieces that are meticulously designed based on on-screen appearances, to give collectors accurate pieces to add to their collections. These items are great for displays, dioramas, photos, animations, and all the other ways you can imagine bringing your favorite on-screen moments to life. All items are 3d printed, and at minimum come in painted or unpainted options.

There will be a LOT to this line (9 items on deck and ready to go from the first episode of G1), and instead of creating new threads for each product release, I thought it better to have one single thread to announce, discuss, and request items in. This is it.

The first item in this line is Vector Sigma:

That is terrific news. I am really interested in that vector sigma and other thing you will propose.
One question though : is it difficult to make the vector sigma key ? Because I don't plan on getting the MST megatron (super happy with the If megatron).

    Thanks in advance

Edit : my bad you DID add the key as an option!

It's probably a case of me being super dumb with Etsy - I'll admit, I've only used it a couple of times - but should this help others... Is there a specific option to pick-up, in order to buy the complete and painted set, as it's presented in the photo? Light blue base + clear arm + yellow VS + golden key.

    Thanks in advance! ^_-

On the product page, in the Style dropdown, you just select the individual options that you want. So you'd want to add Painted Vector Sigma to your cart, and Painted Base to your cart. If you need a Key, you can add a painted or unpainted one of those too.

The photo in this thread uses an arm from a display stand set that a lot of collectors use. If you don't have any of those, then I also have a printed arm (Display Arm) that you can add as well.

With so many options, there just wasn't a simple way on Etsy to do Set A, Set B, etc, so that's why I have the individual components listed for buyers to pick from. Sorry for the confusion. There should only be a single shipping charge for your whole order, not each individual item.
Thanks! There's some great character designs in the series that have never gotten figures made of, and I'm pretty excited to make that happen.

I would make individual threads for the different products. Looks spiff though, I do find the infinity gauntlet amusing.

@NOCV I'm disappointed that your store is called Lockdown's trophy case and you haven't made a trophy case for Lockdown! Compatible with Studio Series Lockdown would be ideal but maybe something black or grey that any character could use. Like a weapon rack with 5mm port compatibility that'd be awesome!

I know, right? I need a proper Legends scale Lockdown to serve as a shop mascot. I'll just have to take care of that myself.
Thanks so much. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the support from you and other members of the community.

Here is an exposure test of the clear resin that I use. The exposure test helps to calibrate how long the material needs exposed to uv light in the printer in order to solidify the layer.

As you can see, it's near transparent.

I offer the clear VS option for anyone that wants to wire an LED into it. I have my painted prototype here on my desk, and it really would look awesome with an LED hooked up to a USB power supply. It's just something I haven't had the time to do yet.

I have a stupid question: how do you make this worth your while? I mean you've got a plain vector sigma for $3. If someone ordered that by itself, wouldn't it be a lot of trouble to print, pack, and ship just to get $3. I've done a little bit of selling but very very little because I just don't consider it worthwhile to do the printing, cleaning, curing, and packing for a price that is low enough that anybody would want to pay it.

I've had 26 sales so far and only one of those has been for an unpainted print, so the trend so far is that people want completed items. Also, I don't print one item at a time. My printer has a large print bed so I can print several items at a time, so it's not like I have to go through the whole process for one little thing.

Nice! Yeah, I figured people would be more interested in completed items. Between assembly and paint, the stuff I've done would be prohibitively expensive if I offered to sell them as complete items. It's a shame cuz I'd like for people to have access to them but there's just no way I'm putting in that kind of time for a price that anybody would be willing to pay. Glad your store is doing well.

Thanks. The response has been a nice surprise. Hopefully my stuff gets on @daimchoc 's radar at some point, because that would be some pretty big exposure.

On the topic of pricing, also remember that the $3 Vector Sigma is just for the sphere. Until you add on the other options, like the display base, display arm, and extra key, you're at almost $10 for an unpainted set. So, the lower cost helps sell the items, and making a set of them helps me pay off my pre-orders. :D

Are you going to sell your “bugs” here as well or is that dead?

I wish to offer my personal perspective on that.

I don't place @NOCV's work in the same league of, say, replacement parts or standard upgrade kits. Something you'd grab on the cheap because it's convenient and which you could further customize, in order to make it better.
I look at that Vector Sigma and I see a proper complement to my Legends collection, something that also comes out of both a unique vision and design process. With this premise - but no means to suggest my way is the right way - the 'finished, complete set' will always be my to go option, no matter we'll be talking about a complex diorama kit, minor characters, original accessories or simple upgrade parts.

I'm really looking forward to see what good folk NOCV will fill his store with, in the future.

Insecticons (Venom, Barrage, Chop Shop, Ransack, Firebomb/Beet Papil, and Black Arachnia) are definitely still happening. They will get their own release threads since they aren't Epcessories. I'm still working out kinks on the durability of ball joints in resin. It requires a special blend of materials, so that's why I'm starting with smaller stuff, so I have funds to trial and error that with. I don't want to sell anyone something that they're going to be disappointed with.

Several other transforming figures that have not gotten proper Legends treatment are planned as well. I just have to perfect the processes. ;)
    Thank you!
