hi folks, i dunno whether is this the correct forum to ask this question. since this is the oz' sightings thread might as well..ok here goes, I'm going on a holiday to australia (the gold coast) soon. where can i find toy shops in gold coast that sells not just TF toys but also SOC, MACROSS, BRAVES & other related japanese anime stuf & toys? Dat's all i need to know guys. any info or feedback is very much appreciated. Thank you.
Hey mate... I don't know the Gold Coast all that well...but I can recommend that you check out a shopping center there called Pacific Fair...its HUGE and I know it has a Toys R Us that you'll def find some Tfs in...and just check out any K-Mart or Target usually your best bet. Theres also some Toy Worlds around the place which sometimes have a good selection. For your Marcoss, Brave etc I'm not entirely sure...Maybe someone else can help you out on that.
Yeah there is the Pacific Fair shopping centre in the heart of the Gold Coast, the only other one worth checking out is the Robina shopping centre. Don't have your hopes up as they are all just normal brand name shops.
Macross stuff, it's real pricey, but A-Zone in Fortitude Valley is your best Queensland bet. That said, it's in Brisbane, about an hour's drive from the Gold Coast. But last I checked they still had a few G1-sized VF-1As and battle-armoured Valkyries there. And some TF stuff (couple of binaltech and classics, iirc). They mostly ship stuff in from Japan, China, SE Asia, so they are expensive, but a fun small store to browse if you're into that kind of thing. I'm so hoping they get the Encore Ratchet/Ironhides.
hey! thanx alot everybody . any information no matter how small is still good info. At least it'll give me a headstart on where to look or places to go.
Not a toy sighting but I picked up a copy of Madman's Transformers Masterforce today at JB Hi-Fi for $49.98.
Haven't been near a net connection since I bought them, but Landmine, Camshaft, Cliffjumper and Stockade are all out in Toyworlds that I've been to in Brisbane. Night Watch Prime as well, but no Incinerator yet -_-
Hi all, i would like to say thanks to aussie boardmembers- jarradtron21, soundwarp, misatokitty fo the info they've given me on the gold coast . I had a great time here in australia & also on the heads-up they provided me on the various places. i'll be flying off tomorrow to s'pore. Once again thanks guys! (even tho i didn't get to buy any TF or robot stufs but in Robina town centre there's a music/dvd shop JB-Hi Fi, wow they stock alot of japanese anime dvds dat i'm spoilt for choice.)
No worries mate pleasure to help . Ah yes you discovered the greatness of JB- Hi fi eh that place has taken ALOT of my money on Dvds....the girls behind the counter recognize me every time I'm in there now haha...
Big W Garden City still has a few Stockade's on the shelf - also found a Nightwatch Optimus (Leader) and all the premium deluxes with that dodgy allspark blue - Barricade, Jazz, Bumblebee and Brawl/Devastator....
The Toywold at Robina town center on the Gold Coast has a whole bunch of Cybertron Sounwaves, Galaxy Vector Primes and Quickmixes on the shelves for 40 bucks each, must have found some old stock (I picked up a Soundwave ^_^).
We-e-e-ell, I know it's a bit late now. Got back from Supanova this afternoon, having picked up Encore Skylynx and MP Skywarp. They were from the Titans Tower booth, and I believe from signage there, they have a store on the Gold Coast? Maybe at Pacific Fair. They also had a Star Convoy, another MP Skywarp, anime-recolour Galvatron... a few others. Maybe check the store if you want to see if they have any others?
Yeah dude they have a tiny little store beside "Australia Fair".......... Man i hope you read this soon, is Supanova worth going to?
Heh, I go every year Watching Catwoman sneak up on Batman and whip him while we were taking photos was pretty funny... and someone had a life-size remote control R2-D2 going around surprising kids and flirting with cute girls. I mostly go for the dealer section. While an anime fan, I tend not to go watch it, nor sit through the celebrity guest talks or get autographs, etc. I will say if you want to go next year, get your ticket in advance (ticketek) and get there early for the lines. The dealer area has some good things sometimes... hence my Sky Lynx and MP Skywarp... but also has a lot of what I would term crap. All the comic stores tend to have their stalls and have toys, etc, but there's a large anime focus on things, so if you're not interested in that or superheroes/comics, it may not be the best thing. Check out the website though... http://www.supanova.com.au
