I have nostalgia for a few older toys that I no longer own, but I have no problem admitting they're bad.

I’ve been aware of every TF line since I stopped buying them first time around and never once seen anything that tempted me to pick it up again until I started seeing 3P stuff and the T30 line. I came back on board properly with Combiner Wars but went back and picked up a bunch of T30 figures and I’m still convinced that they and parts of HFTD are the absolute pinnacle of design and aesthetic up until Earthrise.

Looking at other stuff I was into as a nipper I have to say that aside from Transformers, the line that impresses me most is Star Wars. They are a million times better than the original ones now. I don’t feel any nostalgia for the original figures at all.

I have mixed feelings about the 80s. I loved the toys, the comics, & the cartoons (and later D&D novels - I had noone to play it with so had to make do with those); all those things that helped me escape reality for a time. I think that's why they mean so much to me.

Oddly though, I don't just want nostalgia, I want the new too. I got back into collecting around RiD2001, and love there being new additions to everything. I like that Transformers is a living franchise, not just a dead-end nostalgia fest. The fact that I was going through one of thecp worst periods of my life at the time I got back into this probably helps too - I had new comforts that weren't just reliving my childhood.

Weirdly, I feel the opposite about MOTU Origins. I love the nostalgia there, probably because they feel like the first 'proper' update of the originals. I never wanted realistic reimaginings, I just want to see those weirdly proportioned designs again! That scratches an inch I didn't really know I had.

All three paragraphs here resonate hard with me!

I got back into TFs in the early 2000s when I was severely unhappy and looking back almost certainly had some undiagnosed mental health issues. I don't know why Transformers pulled me back as much as they did as they were just one of many franchises I loved as a kid. But pull they did and I got a great deal of comfort out of them (and still do).

Day off today and it's turned out to be a very sunny, pleasant day. So naturally I've been inside building a micromaster city.

    Hello.

Very much so. Have placed a number of orders with them and only last week ordered some upgrade kits.

You are welcome. Always nice to know others have used a company before to remove any concern that you may be stepping into the unknown using a company for the first time.

I’ve been very fortunate to have had all good experiences when dealing with TFSafari.

    ABK drops another instant classic...

Also seconding the affirmation of TFSafari, @Strafe28066, they've done fine by me so far.

Think I might have a duplicate of that one as well, and I already have the Decepticon Ark one. If I can find it I can send it to you? :)

“Coronation Starscream, this is bad comedy.”

Not been around these parts much lately. Had a couple of hellish weeks at work (in a rush of blood I told my boss he could have my notice which I may still come to regret) but at least it’s the long weekend now...

So my movie ML Deadpool figure arrived, was gonna take some time to decide on whether or not to paint him a brighter red, but when i managed to wiggle both of his glued-in guns out with no damage to gun or holster I took it as a sign.

So here he is halfway done...even better any sloppy paint just adds to the effect:

Thank you. I am very pleased with them. But it will take a while to populate the shelves!

Yep, still here...... Would you go back to the UK? We have had a total of 27 deaths here, all over 65, since the pandemic started.

I think that the display shelves are from a hair or beauty spa. Those places that sell overpriced product that needs to be well lit and locked away. They had six cabinets in total.... Have no space for more than two, but can you imagine a room with all these on the walls!

I too will give a yey to tfsafari. Used them for a few upgrade kits and got my mpm04 ko from them too. Responded to emails within a few days when I contacted them about a dead tracking link last year (turns out I was selecting the wrong courier. They put me right sharpish).
