Hmm, how much room is in Sky Garry's back? If there's enough space you could have the head flip or slide down into a compartment in his back or have the head on a bunch of joints so it can be folded up and over the back. Other than that parts-forming might be the best option for a figure of this caliber unfortunately.

It finally looks good! I fiddled with the proportions of the feet the entire day

 

The issue isn't how it transforms in vehicle mode, the problem is how it transforms in combined mode. It's not the mechanism that I'm worried about but rather what makes an aesthetic choice for where the head should go. Partsforming is just a cheap cop out, a lazy method, and just a way to show that you've given up.

 

Oh, sorry. I probably should clarified that I was referring to the combined mode the whole time. The new parts look stellar so far  

 

That's about it for today. I'll work on it more tomorrow. Things are looking quite good, nothing functional as of yet (I've still yet to add an ankle tilt, but that needs to wait for my test model to be printed)
The arms barely need any measurements from Star Convoy. I'm quite thankful I designed this after minimal parts touching Star Convoy. The original plan was to have his arms be gauntlets like Godbomber but I now realize how much of a pain in the ass that would be.

If Hasbro and Takara can do that and get away with it, I’m sure one person with a 3D printer can too  . In my opinion, it’ll help it look a little more “official” too, standing with Star Convoy and having a similar design structure would help them match a little more
