Yes Crosshairs is much more human-like in his appearance but the car trench coat is such a unique idea that has never been done before Transformers have shown us hundreds of ways to turn a car into a robot and both Sideswipe and Crosshairs are unique ways of doing it.

A continuation of the Sunbow continuity. But still with Bayverse events/plots. Oh yes.

-Continuing off Rebirth eps, but with the Allspark
-Modern day, a few years afterward even
    -Sam Witwicky as Daniel's son
-Want Bumblebee to still have no voice? Take Goldbug's voice away
-Jazz could still be killed off, but not before he gets his Pretender shell(which isn't the wrong color this time)
-Starscream's ghost returns to randomly harass United States aircraft
-No idea what to do with Megatron/Galvatron, probably just the Bumblebee/Goldbug thing with Galvy taking Bayformer Megs' place

Yeah, I have no idea what I'm thinking here either.

Absolutely. Soundwave has nothing to do with a mercedez. A sport car!? Bruh. If it was a military car just like his RID2015 version
And that Megatron was really cool and he wasn't desproportionate, unlike rotf Megatron which was trash AF, but his alt mode was perfect. And they had a Decepticon army, all the 3 generals, among them the 2 waves who are supposed to be smart, AND COULDN'T THEY FIX MEGATRON AND MAKE HIM GREAT AGAIN? But imo his scene kicking Sentinel's ass was better than anything he did in rotf, even tho Sentinel treated him like a Starscream

Never! That one still has Camaro parts and he isn't that different of the old mod, it has the camaro front in the chest just like others, unlike Optimus who is 100% new bot. Bee legs, arms and characteristics are still similar

But the thing is: Stinger is an upgraded Bumblebee, so he already looks like Bumblebee, BB just adoted that design. And the thing is Stinger's transformation is the one that doesn't make sense. Bumblebee's is the same of always but just a little more complex.
And their chest is a little bit different, and in most models the most notable thing that changes in BB is the chest, bcs the rest of the body is still the same

Perhaps the most right answer would be - From the beginning. I could be completely wrong, but it seems the franchise has been on the slide around the early 2000s, and Hasbro was desperate to make a grandiose return to the top. This is why they went for visuals and action rather than better storytelling. I'm not suggesting that the decisions they took were intentional, but they could've stayed away from the big blockbuster format.

Are you telling me Transformers designs should be obvious and non creative? Like, the fucking entire front of a car in his chest, simple like this?
Sorry but let me tell ya something. Those guys are aliens, their tech is light years ahead of yours, they shouldn't be simple to the point you say. I like that, but the aoe things are a more logical concept. They don't compromise their alien design, they still look cool and complex with earth vehicles, what usually doesn't happen bcs they become too obvious

And why should he have the essence of a car? Look to bayverse cybertronian designs (from comics). You can't tell me if the mf transforms, what he transforms, nothing. As subtle as a complex being should be

    Exacly man!

And guys, the movies didn't become bad bcs of design. We know they are shitty since Rotf

AoE establishes that humans could take this stupid metal which shouldn't even be called a metal because it could replicate non-metallic substances like rubber, which is actually organic in the sense it comes from trees (plus a crapload of industrial chemicals), and have vastly more advanced transformations...than the actual aliens made of the stuff and exponentially older than all of human civilization.

Furthermore, the argument that they're so much more advanced really kind of throws the very point of transformation into question. Why the hell bother turning into vastly inferior pieces of technology for a disguise than, y'know, a cloaking package? Why don't they all just fly around with invisibility? Y'know, like Predators if they had jetpacks.

Because that's not what the appeal of this franchise is. It's because the whole appeal should be about transforming robots. So the designs need to play up the transformation angle.

...why? The vehicle is the disguise, not the robot. And what you're saying makes no sense. Why would a sophisticated alien race have transformation on such a stupid, energy-guzzling manner, when far simpler transformation by retaining chunks of the alt. mode in a visually interesting robot design would be much more efficient because they're not trying to hide the fact they are transformers in robot mode?

Additionally good Transformer design usually incorporates the essence of the vehicle into the robot. You wanna know why G1 Prime is such a timeless design when it's ultimately just a block core with block limbs folded behind it? It's because of the geometry. A semi truck of any flavor carries with it an inherent essence of strength and durability. Qualities that suit Optimus Prime very, very well, because it translates into his form and thus he embodies those traits.

Knight Prime does not do this. In addition to a far inferior looking alt. mode (the Peterbuilt was far more interesting than the Western Star in my opinion), any pretense of him being a truck or even transforming is thrown out the window. He looks like a reject from the movie Real Steel where all the robot boxers had outlandish theme armor very much like what Knight Prime has going on.

Its not even that interesting a knight design, which is in part due to the fact all of him is armor so it doesn't feel as promiment as the original which contasts the colored vehicle components with the internal mechanics. If anything, Knight Prime looks pathetically thin and not somebody who would be considered the bipedal incarnation of a semi truck Compare that to Reinhardt from Overwatch, who actually looks unique like a sci-fi knight would. Gratuitous shoulders, a freaking ROCKET ENGINE on his back, and overall somebody you do not want punching you in the face.

Plus, this whole franchise exists to sell toys. The design is as much part of the visual appeal as it is in terms of physically being able to be produced. And it's not just in the physics, because it was said in the leaks that AoE Galvatron can not happen in Studio Series, because the costs involved are simply too prohibitive to even attempt it. I grantee that the UT Nero, which btw is only being produced up to 1,500 units, has a very small profit margin and relies on engineering cheats that would render the toy unsellable on mass market as a toy to children which Hasbro is beholden to.

I mesmo, isn't exactly It what the original Transformers do?
And no, It doesn't turn into rubber. It may be a metal that looks like rubber, but they can't turn into rubber.

Those robots were literally made from the aliens. They are upgraded versions

It's just the design, they don't become inferiors like the vehicles
And in many TF medias any bot can't turn into in anything he wants. Like, Bumblebee can't turn into a plane. But I can't say that they have this limitation on movies. And for sure they have invisibility tech, but why would they use? IDK man

I'm not sure about that in Aoe

It's just you who are saying that. In those movies they could transform easily and practical just like in any other movie

And your last image didn't load. IDK why that is

And for sure, Knight Prime has nothing the other ones have, he's his own thing. I don't look to Bay Prime and others and say they are the same guy
And well, what I like in them is that they break a cliche, of cars always having the chest as the front of the vehicle (it doesnt happen with KOP), it's a totally new idea that I think it shouldn't be thrown away. Not a thing to be used forever, also

I feel like what they did with AoE Bee was the equivalent of making 07 Optimus use the Movie 1 Megatron design, with the only difference being that he'd be blue, despite the fact that Optimus is an earth truck and Megatron's a cybertronian jet.

Then you have no idea how tires work. Because the whole basic principle of how a car can drive itself is exerting force through the tries, which because they're rubber, allow the car to move forward through friction because its easier for the car to move forward than it is to force the tires to spin when acting upon a non-moving surface that is the ground.

More importantly, this also applies to braking, because braking stops the axle and so the rubber in the tires resisting motion is how a car stops.

You can't do that with metal wheels, I.E. look up how long it takes a train to come to a stop when emergency brakes are applied, because train wheels are all metal.

Then how can you say that Transformers are more advanced when you literally just said that the KSI knock-offs are upgraded from that? That would imply that humans by the mere existence of that feat would be more advanced. It makes no sense.

What you are saying is that an alien race millions, if not billions, of years old, and has achieved interstellar space travel...was outperformed by humans who haven't even gotten to Mars yet, in the span of less than half a decade, starting from scratch with nothing but a bunch of corpses.

    Looks inferior to me.

Then what according to you is the point of transformation?

It is in practice mimicry, to hide in plain sight. Invisibility would achieve the exact same objective.

Are you actually implying that the Autobots could be thirty-something feet tall alien robots standing around human civilization and the only problem with that is when they have visible car parts? As in, if they all looked like Gort from The Day The Earth Stood Still, nobody would notice?

Again, you seem to be completely ignoring the entire point of Transformation. Y'know, "robots in disguise"? They're hiding as vehicles, not as robots.

Its basic conservation of energy, things that are taught in school. The less shit that moves, the less energy required. The movies were completely inconsistent with how the energy factor was addressed because they kind of forgot Energon existed after DOTM.

...go look at AoE Drift. Or TLK Drift, because he has a car hood chest.

Then go look at IDW G1 Drift a.k.a. the original Drift, because he was created around 2008 whereas AoE Drift was 2014. G1 Drift has the car hood split and then fold back to form swept back shoulders.

Hell, the original Bumblebee does not have a car hood chest, like every single movie Bumblebee ever. G1 and Animated Bumblebee have the car hood be their feet.

It can be a metal who works exacly like rubber. It's science bro. What doesn't make sense is beings made only of metal create rubber. Now, if they can change the structure of the metal to make it get the characteristics of rubber makes way more sense. Remember Avengers AoU? They made Vision who almost looked like a person, he wasn't rigid like metal, but he was done of metal? Or Black Panther whose suit acts like it was made of fabric but it's metal?

Or inside Transformers. That rotf girl Decepticon? Who is supposed to be... what's that faction? Pretenders? Who could turn into people? They used like an armor in comics to do this. I don't remember. But she felt like a person but she was made of pure metal. Heck, cybertronians are non organic beings, they can't creat organic materials. When they needed camuflage of humans or animals in comics, they needed a different tech which their bodies didn't have. That armor I mentioned

You are saying if I copy the homework of my friend, but I change it a little, I'm more inteligent than my friend. What doesn't make sense, they just the entire transformers, studied them and found out a new way of making them transform. I mean, Bumblebee ripped the ass of Stinger, so...
Wtf. It makes no sense. If he was in robot, cybertronian form or anything he'd be teared apart in the same way
So tell that to Starscream, a F-22, who travels in space
    RCO022_1486020174.jpg
He also states they aren't limited by the limits of our vehicles (if it wasn't like this, getting a disguise would be shooting your own foot)

    Yes. Then? What's your point?

I never stated that. My thing is that in their cybertron modes they usually don't have obvious parts, or they aren't obvious bcs we don't know their vehicles. In anyway, most times when we compare a cybertronian design with one that turns into an earth vehicle, the earth one looks inferior and primitive. I mean, they have the entire front of the car in their chest, in the least chic way they could be. With the new designs, their design isn't limited or downgraded. See Crosshairs, Bumblebee aoe and Knight Prime. If they go on cybertron, it's not like their design is weird for those standards. See TLK Optimus in space, it doesn't look an earth truck in space. Now, imagine if it was his old design. Idk you, but earth modes on space/cybertron look awful for me. In tfp when they come back to Cybertron but they don't get cybertron forms, it kinda hurts my eyes idk why. I just think tlk designs look alien and complex enough, as I like them to be

The movies never cared to the use of energon tbh. And only bcs it moves more parts it doesn't mean it has a big spent of energy. I mean, I've never seen them having any trouble with transformation-energy thing. And they have to move pieces in the same way. See aoe OP transformation, it isn't much longer than TF1's or way more complex

You know I didn't mentioned Drift right? Maybe would it be bcs he clearly... follows the design line of the first movies? I mean, did I really have to explain he doesn't follow the design line of Crosshairs, Megatron, Optimus, Bumblebee and many others from aoe/tlk? He clearly isn't as complex as the others

I'm sorry to anyone that likes them (seeing as we're talking about AOE) but I think the AOE designs are some of the worse interpretations of the franchise.

The vast majority of them don't look like they transform at all, let alone new interpretations of old characters. Look at Optimus for example. The only way you could tell it could turn into a truck is because of the smokestacks. Take those off it just looks like an odd evolution of Action Master Optimus (a robot that doesn't change into anything).

Meanwhile take the original trilogy Optimus design. It is too me the perfect attempt at a reinterpretation in the Bay movies. It's its own thing while still being recognizable, it does many things new while still keeping elements of the old, and you can still tell it turns into a truck. I remember seeing this picture of him before we saw the BB design of Optimus for the first time and thought "yep, that is a good design for Optimus".
    wallpapersden.com_-bumblebee-movie-art_2560x1440 (2).png

I kind of wish that we could have seen how other reinterpretations of humanoid characters would have looked like if it followed more how 07 Optimus did it. Like what would Megatron look like if he was redesigned like Optimus.

Crosshairs is the result of someone mixing a steampunk, a school shooter, and a highlighter in a blender.
