I'm really sorry, but I have to be immature here :jawdropper: :lol :rolleyes2 :lolol
I mean don't tell me you didn't hold it like that on purpose or at least haven't noticed any similarities.

I know you won't believe me, but I never noticed "that" until you brought it up:rolleyes:  But I do find it funny in retrospect:lol

Hello everyone. I have returned with an update! And some cameos:)

So what did I do this time? Well, I worked more on the trailer. I'm not following any spefific patern on this project...

The first thing I wanted to solve was the inevitable problem that in exo mode the trailer would need to support ALOT of weight from the top and that the knee joints and new pin slides would have no way of doing that. My pre-emptive solution? Build supporting brackets!

    20210429_170754.jpg

I took 2 layers of thin styrene, drilled holes in them, mounted them on pins to verify my work, then cut out 4 of thicker styrene the same lenght and whith and glued then on the tops and bottoms to re-enforce them. It worked ot great!
    20210429_233627.jpg

Oh there is no parts-forming involved. The bottom pin that holds the bracket slides out a bit to permit the top of the bracket to unlacth and swivel for the transformation.
    16203299229111554478189712218411.jpg

The pins sticking out the sides are what connect the knees to the legs. That's what the brackets attach to. The pins also work as a slider to help with the transformation.
    16203301500204037128036626361922.jpg

But I also thought that the gap between the lower knee and the outer leg would also cause problems. I realized that the weight would make that buckle outwards. So I filled in that gap with thick styrene.
    20210429_231105.jpg
    20210429_234220.jpg
    20210429_234224.jpg
    20210429_234242.jpg

    20210429_232706.jpg

    And the result is:
    20210429_234008.jpg
Next up I wanted to make the backpack extend outwards more so that the arms, when attached, wouldn't clash with Pyro's shoulders. I also got 3d printed Combiner Wars port extenders to help with that and add even more height. So after splitting the trailer, which only required the removing of a few screws and 1 cut, I busted out some materials that I'd never used before:
    16203308358082286857189686231943.jpg
So after looking at what it looks like inside:
    20210430_003428.jpg

I got to work cutting, drilling and glueing brackerts and sliders so that the backpack would segment out as far as I wanted it too:
    20210430_001502.jpg
    20210430_004830.jpg
    20210430_173833.jpg
I also removed the inner lightbar to make room foe a mod latee down the line.

The result of all that was as follows:

    And to confirm it:

    20210430_175432.jpg
    20210430_175420.jpg 20210430_175506.jpg

So far so good, though I still need to build a mounting bracket. I did start BUT I need to refine my idea. What I have so far is that I took a leftover CW hand/foot gun that I'd already chopped up:
    20210430_170400.jpg

And just drilled a hole under the front of Pyro's cab:
    20210430_170057.jpg
That's all I have on that for now.

    Next, I wanted to test to see if the cannon I want to place in the middle would fit. The cannon is the entire inner torso assembly from the Energon Slugslinger I used for my Turbomaster Rotorstorm;
    20210430_194635.jpg
    20210430_194626.jpg

And it works. Next up I needed to find a way to covee it all up while still making it look like a firetruck's trailer. Luckly I still have the Road Rippers Firetruck that I took Pyre's ladder from:
    20210430_223312.jpg

Perfect! It pays to keep your stuff for future projects, doesn't it? So after some cutting, I got this:
    20210501_004223.jpg
    20210501_004231.jpg
    20210502_001404.jpg
    20210502_002049.jpg

Ah, this is working out nicely. Thought I have alot left to do. One of the crutial things I need to do is adjust for this buldge and free up the ladder rotation. 20210502_002147.jpg

So I did this for now:
    20210430_223254.jpg
All of this will be used.

Oh, let's check out if the mods I did for the legs worked. Does the backpack actually support any extra weight?
    20210506_002933.jpg

    20210506_003048.jpg
Ta-da! It works. However, I will need to compensate for Pyro's extra weight later down the line.

And as a final test, I'd like to show you an idea of what the trailer's base mode will look like:
    20210506_001056.jpg

Of course, this is not finished. Along with the WIP cameos in this picture. But I will leave it to you guys to guess who is who. Here are some hints though:

•One of them is the last member of the wreckers I don't have yet.

•One of them is the last member of one of my other multipart projects.

•Three of them are the begginings of a HUGE multipart project that I've been wanting to do for years. It also ends in "ers".

•Last hint, look at the colors of the WIPs.

And I will call this update to a close.

Hope you enjoy and see you next time.

Hello everyone. Update time. And thought this is another short one, what was accomplished is pretty important to the overall project.

Let's start with what I'm happiest about: the mid-section of the trailer/base/Exo-suit is finished(starts sobing in happiness):

Seeing as I want the middle to transform into a gun turret, I knew there where 2 priorities to sort which where to make a movable arm attachement and figure out a connecrion point that wouldn't interfere with rhe Exo-suit mode. So I did this:
    20210511_020017.jpg

I used the remaining arm balljoint and thighpiece from a broken CW scoutclass Groove. Then I used styrene to build a third slightly off center slider, again so that it doesn't get in the way of the trailer splitting:
    20210518_020258.jpg 20210518_222220.jpg
Next up are the panels that form the sides and roof:
I removed and saved the pin brackets from the Energon Slugsligner, the ones that held his arms on and added some thick styrene to help me with the gapping. I also cut up the casing from the Road Rippers into the apropriate pieces and puttied and glued some of them onto what where the hip pieces for E.SS:
    20210513_231121.jpg
    16213937152244518924049745917136.jpg
    20210514_021528.jpg
So far so good. Next I added more styrene to fill in the gaps from the wheelwells for the panels, drilled pin hole and I made adjustments nessecary for the transformation I have in mind for said panels: 20210516_024337.jpg
    20210516_024408.jpg

    20210516_024438.jpg
    20210518_020912.jpg
Both of the larger panels are attached by pins and can rotate.
Onto the roof panels. I found various leftover parts from DOTM Crankcase, TFP Beast Hunter Knockout and elbow parts from E.SS. I chopped Knockout's crotchpiece in half(yikes, bit he wasn't using it anymore anyways), glued it onto Inferno's legs, cobbled the other parts and panel pieces together with styrene and putty
    and voila!

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! I present to you all a box on wheels with a ladder!
    20210518_214404.jpg

I still need to re-attach a bunch of pieces and plan out there transformation scheme, along with more asthetic work and tightening up

But for now, the arguably hardest parts are done. And here is a mockup of what the trailer will look like in base mode.
    20210518_221950.jpg 20210518_221933.jpg
The idea is that the panels will act as armor platting and computer controls/terminals. The top of the ladder will also as a radar dish. But like I said, I still have a nice chunk of work to do.
Oh yes, you can also attach Pyro's weapons on the spot where E.SS's head went.
    20210518_222010.jpg
For the more evocative look, but also:
    20210518_222038.jpg

Which nicely segways me to to the next 2 little pieces. Those being Pyro's guns and an adaptor that I'm working on.

All I did with the guns was take POTP Inferno's guns, which are kindof evocative of G1 Pyro's guns already, made a small cut at the tip, added styrene and finished them with paint and stickers:
    20210518_225242.jpg
    Pyro A.JPG.jpg

And as for the adaptor, I took scraps from the Road Rippers fire truck, styrene, leftovers from a CW hand/foot gun thumbpiece, a dollarstore KO CW toy's gun and an Energon Superion Maximus's hand/foot gun and slapped it together to make this:
    20210518_225000.jpg
    20210518_225004.jpg
This is going store away on the trailer or as part of the connection hitch/explorer drone that I plan on making after the trailer itself is finished. It can also work as a pistol.

This leads us to the final part of tonight's presentation(or day if that's when you're reading this). The boss himself is finished!

    That's ri-igth! Let's turn up the heat, it's Pyro!
    20210519_010745.jpg

All that he needed where some finishing touches.

    Robot mode:

    20210518_225754.jpg
    20210518_225805.jpg

He is hand and spraypainted with:
    Citadel White Scar
    Citadel Yriel Yellow
    Citadel Abaddon Black
    Citadel Evil Sunz Scarlet
    Citadel Lothern Blue
    Citadel Kantor Blue
Mix of Citadel Wadakka Red and White Scar for pink for the windows
    Testors Metallic Silver
    Testors Metallic Gold
    Testors Gunmetal Bronze
    Tamaya Yellow Spray Paint
    Rust-Oleum Gloss Black
    Gundam Paint Marker Black
    Gundam Paint Marker Yellow
    Gundam Black Panel Lining Marker

The base mold is Generations Protectobots Evac Squad A Hotspot with Javaco's Flame-O parts 3d printed upgrade kit from Shapeways. The guns are POTP Inferno's gun modded with styrene.

The stickers and Reprolables are from POTP Inferno, POTP Pyro, Igear Weapon Specialist(Irongide), Classics Grapple, TFC Hydrant(Hot Spot), CW Smolder and Wreckers Sticker set.

    Vehicule mode:

    20210518_225058.jpg
    20210518_225355.jpg

I have to say, after working on him piecemeal for so many years, it's realy nice to see him finished. To bad the rest of his team isn't!

Oh, he can use the adaptor to use what is going to be the combined mode's main gun:
    20210518_230140.jpg
There, a tri-barreled beast. He can also plugs guns under his right arm where the original crane went:
    16213993023784235859650724444082.jpg

And here is what it looks like in vehicule mode:
    20210518_225140.jpg
Yeah. Fires don't stand a chance.

And that will do it for now! I still have alot of work to do, but that's just what it is. I will say that the reason this is going by so slowly is because I'm actually working on about 6 different projects all at once. I teased at least 3 last update.

What I'm trying to do is use all this spare time as much of the heavier prepwork done on as many pieces as I can before the lockdown lifts. This is mostly ALOT of spraypainting outside along with all the dismantaling, masking, waiting, etc that entails. And when I'm not doing that in the daytime with my other chores, there are 2 other projects I'm working on that are Heavy/Scratch mods that I try to work on at night along with this one(one of them is a reshell/re-engeneering and the other a total re-engeneering). So hopefully, by the time work starts up again(whenever that is), all I'll need to focus on is the smaller stuff like painting in details, stickers and light mods.

At least I'm having a blast doing this!

I hope you enjoy and see you next time!

Hello everyone. I checked my schedule and it seems I'm overdue for an update. But the good news is, I have one.

And a fairly important one. For you see I have cracked the trailer's code. MWAHAHAHAHA!

So first off, let's take a look at what I did to finish the back.

After examining what I had to work with and knowing that I wanted to use POTP Inferno's combiner torso panels, I decided to cobble them with leftover parts from ER Hoist's OG shoulders and a junker CW Alpha Bravo's legs and installed pins in Inferno's shoulder's pegholes to alow these parts to slide in and out for the different modes:
    20210523_192353.jpg
    20210524_232326 (1).jpg

One more important thing to note is that I turned the ladder's boom into a radar by drilling a pinhole in the attaching piece and chopping it off:
    20210524_231701 (1).jpg
    20210525_000411 (1).jpg

To fill in the back properly, I used the back panel from the same Road Rippers Fire Truck that I've been using for this project along with hip and leg parts from a junker Transformers Prime Cyberverse Bulkhead:
    20210525_015842.jpg
    20210529_193115.jpg
    20210529_211457.jpg

I also used styrene to fill in gaps between the panels:
    20210524_231707 (1).jpg

Next up, I used alot of styrene, a few pins , glue, putty and twist ties to build panels to cover up the origional door details that where on Inferno's sides and the joints that raise the new roof(sorry for the lack of pictures for the process):
    20210531_140802 (1).jpg
    20210531_170652 (1).jpg
    20210531_222054 (1).jpg
    Looks like a box, right?
    20210531_222059 (1).jpg
    20210531_222105 (1).jpg
    20210531_222115 (1).jpg
    20210531_222119 (1).jpg
    And this box unfolds:
    20210531_222727 (1).jpg
    20210531_222736 (1).jpg
    20210531_222742 (1).jpg
    20210531_222748 (1).jpg
But this is all missing something. Oh yeah! The ladder! And I figured out how to re-install it in a way to make it still turn.

As you may have noticed, I'd chopped it off. I decided to reenforce it a pin through the stem and I used a random piece of styrene to make it taller than the box part( but that random piece turned out EXTREMELY advantageous later):
    20210601_000915 (1).jpg
    20210601_003538 (1).jpg
    20210601_013435 (1).jpg 20210601_235124.jpg
Haha! Success! A fully functionnal ladder trailer!

But that's not all ladies and gentlemen because there is still the mod that is effectivally THE LINCHPIN of this entire project. The one moddification that makes or breaks this ENTIRE project: the connectors between Pyro and the trailer in exo-suit mode. And it has been done!

Now, in a previous update, I showed that I'd drilled a hole in Pyro's rearend to connect a modded piece of a CW hand/foot gun. Well, I still had to figure out to attach that to the trailer. And after I found this weird piece:
    20210601_223203.jpg
i immediatlly thought of a way to do it. I started by clearing space where Inferno's robot mode chest use to be for some styrene brackets I made:
    20210601_203020.jpg
    20210601_210207.jpg
    20210601_222833.jpg
Then I used tube styrene and threaded it through the brackets and the hole in the black stick thing after I attache the CW plug to it with putty:
    20210601_230832.jpg
And now it can slide into the middle in exo-suit mode and tuck underneath the trailer mode:
    20210601_233012.jpg
After that, I figures out a way to build an adjustable bracket to stabilize Pyro from the top. I used yet another CW hand/foot gun and a leftover bracket made from a Generations Trailcutter from another custom(not yet revealed) to build a bracket and used putty and styrene to connect it to the ladder extention I made:
    20210601_233350.jpg
I later replaced the attaching the bracket with a long pin so it can be adjusted for the trailer mode's transformation.
    20210601_234358.jpg

I then took a peghole piece from a junker DOTM Berserker's arm, adjusted it slightly, and glued it to the back of the panel where Pyro's head sits:
    20210601_035312 (1).jpg
With this, Pyro's truck mode's cab doesn't have a random hole in it. And the notch I made makes it so he can still look up:
    20210601_035340 (1).jpg

So with all these mods, how does the trailer ultimately look? Really good, actually:
    20210601_235221.jpg
    20210601_235241.jpg
    20210601_235342.jpg
    20210601_235233.jpg

BUT most importantly, does it work as a backpack? Will the connectting brackets hold?
    20210601_231912.jpg
    Yes..
    20210601_231900.jpg
    Yes...
    20210601_231941.jpg
YEEEEESSSSS! Regarless of whether or not is properly transformed(the legs, ladder and arm connectors aren't transformed and the base mode cannon isn't attached), the anwser is yes, they work! Granted, I haven't tested it fully combined yet and I know it's gonna be top heavy, but I'll figure that out along the way. The most important part is that the brackets can support Pyro and I suspect the addition of the base cannon(it will be the exo-mode's back) along with another mod I want to work on, will act as a counter-balance.

From this point on, there isn't to much left to do.(relatively speaking). I still need to:
    1. Finish the look of the trailer:Stickers, paint, etc.
    2. Build a trailer hitch that will also function as a drone/extra weapons/armor
3.Maybe build another drone that could work as extra weapons/armor?
    4. Finish modding and painting Digger-3
    5. Finish modding and painting Submarine-4

That's it really. But just as an FYI, I am back at work full time now, so there is a big possibility that, at least for the summer, updates are going to either few or far in between or both:p  And there is also another exiting project I want to share with you which I will reveal very soon.

And I will leave it at that for this update.

I hope you enjoy and I will see you next time!

Hello everyone. Despite being back at work, I return to you with a short update(and they will most likely be like this ALL summer until around October)

Consider this more of an adendum to my last post. Where last time I solved the trailer mode, this time I solve the remainder of the entire gimmick this entire project revolves around: the stability of the exosuit mode!

Last time, I showed that I'd figured out how to connect Pyro to the trailer. And though it was a smashing success, it also resulted in the exact side effects I'd prepicted: Pyro made the whole thing WAY too front heavy and though the original Inferno knee joints and pinslide mods are tought enough not to collapse in on themselves, they are too loose to prevent the whole thing from going forward when you hold the bottom down UNLESS I slightly tilted this beast backwards like so.

    20210610_151441.jpg
Picutered above I a pure balancing act. So I fixed that. First thing I did was take the cannon emplacement and cut out what was the lower crotchpiece from Energon Slugslinger where the balljoints for his legs where:
    20210610_235218.jpg
Then after gluing them where I wanted them, I used the existing holes as points of reference to drill holes into the new knees of the Exosuit mode and placed compatible rod styrene into them.
    20210611_002121.jpg 20210611_003755.jpg 20210611_003758.jpg
Now to make certain that this doesn't snap, I also glued another piece of thicker styrene on the opposite sides with a hole deilled in it to act as a brace. Now for transformation, the styrene "locking pin" can slide out to unlock the knee joint, permiting the knee to collapse, and needs to be put back in the locked position for trailer mode.
    16245899564605601951534479001621.jpg

Next up I wanted to stabilize the backpack made from the basemode cannon because it kept tilting forward. All I did was take a piece of thick styrene, drilled a few holes, added a pin to slot into the cannon mount and voilà:
    20210624_204845.jpg
    20210624_205109.jpg
    20210624_204930.jpg
Works so far, though I suspect I may need to find an alternative later down the line. We'll see if if it happens.

Next up, I wanted to figure out how to utilize the rooftop panels into the Exosuit mode properly. I didn't like how they just hung off the back. It felt lazy to me. And then I descovered that though my locking mechanisim worked for red portions of the knee joints, Pyro's weight was still affecting the unratcheted upper knees. So I solved 2 problems with 1 mode. I drilled holes into Pyro's calves and into the roof panels and used rod styrene to act as sliding connectors. So the roof panels now act as mechanicle and movable connection points. And seeing as this requires thighs to be turned 180°, this alows the inner thigh details to be shown and looks much better:
    20210624_210757.jpg 20210624_210924.jpg
    20210624_211803.jpg
And because of all the joints involved, it's fairly adjustable and stable. But of course still front heavy.

But as nice and functional as this might look and be, does it even work? Well...
    20210624_213532.jpg
Not sure. You tell me. For real though, I would have used the Submarine and Drill tank but they are still in pieces and unfinished. Plus I don't want to give away the the whole show yet. I still need to have something for the finally, right?

And here he is next to another custom I working on as a size comparison(just because it was on my desk at the time):
    20210624_213553.jpg
But this is still missing some parts(not the other custom). Last time I said I wanted to build drones that would act as extra armor and a hitch and S&R vehicules. I still need to make those. Also, these are not the proper feet that I want to use, but I misplaced those.

And I need to confess at this point that I'm honestly STUMPED as to what to do about the paint scheme for the trailer. I don't know if I want to leave the red color as it is OR repaint it by to match Pyro a bit better using Evil Sunz Scarlet(pretty certain that's the one that matches him closest). But I shall figure it out.

P.S: Since I'm back to work full time until at least October, I don't want to do anything overly time consuming mod or paint wise. That's why updates will be fairly short or few until then. And as you saw, I am also working on other customs and I've also returned to my backlog of Gunpla(yes I also do MSG model kits, but only 1/144 HG and RG) that I've accumulated over 1 1/2 years(somehow, I have almost 25 kits that I never got too and I have more on the way and I just dipped my toes into Advance of Z. And I need to touch up most of my currently built Gunplas, around 21 built, with paint apps and details now that I have more experience! Primus save me from my madness:banghead: :cry ) and video games.

But don't worry, the fun will continue. And I will leave it at that for the time being.

Until then, see you next time!

Thank you. The idea is that Pyro is using his trailer/base and his drones like an exosuit or external power armor as opposed to being a proper combiner. In my headcannon, this was done as a one and done experimental alternative to combiners or miniturized combiners à la Power Core Combiners, which is also in my headcannon, that didn't catch on because too few viable candidates existed.

Fire-1 is fantastic! Dig it. A lot. TBH I wished Has/Tak had retooled some CW bots to be these limbs for Prime. The base figure's Gestalt chest clearly homages the Energon Combiner, so they could have easily made a set.

Hello everyone. Guess what. I'm going to TFCON Toronto tomorrow foe the first time since 2016( so for the second time). I'm so excited!

But that doesn't mean I want to leave any of you in the dust. So I wish to give you an update with the custom I finished for the occasion.

It's Pyro's trailer! The linchpin of this ENTIRE project! It's done! It's finally done

Before I get to the main event, I wish to share with you all some production pictures.

To start with, I had to sort thru all this mess:
    20211204_235701.jpg

    20211204_235713.jpg

First of and the simplest of all, the wheels got done first:
    20211207_195829.jpg

    20211207_202215.jpg

Then I descided to finish the cannon and centre box:
    20211204_235747.jpg

    20211204_235801.jpg

    20211204_235816.jpg

    20211204_235906.jpg

    20211207_185337.jpg
You may not be able to see it well, but I continued the stripping patern on the top and bottom of the silver parts. The I added alot of reprolables and some paint details to finish off the gun turret look:
    20211207_175656.jpg

    20211207_175710.jpg

    20211207_180624.jpg

All I did to the back part was paint it straight yellow, touched up the lights and added a liscense plate reprolable ontop of the origional fire truck toy's existing blue striped sticker. That was a cool coincidence:
    20211204_235847.jpg

    20211207_202812.jpg

Afterwards, I just added paint details everywhere I saw fit. The ultimate aim was to match G1 Pyro's look as much as possible. I also used CW Pyro's reprolable set and I covered up the fists to make them less obvious:

    20211205_000204.jpg
    20211205_000222.jpg

    20211205_000254.jpg

    20211206_015410.jpg

    20211206_015433.jpg

    20211207_021030.jpg

    20211207_021114.jpg

    20211207_021126.jpg

    20211207_175525.jpg

    20211207_183444.jpg

    20211205_000228.jpg

I added extra details and reprolables to the silver panels that originaly hung off of the ladder and continued the stripping partern along the frame with paint and reprolables:
    20211204_235934.jpg

    20211207_194609.jpg

    20211207_185941.jpg

I then added some paint detail onto the top connector that attaches behind Pyro's head and painted the connection extenders:
    20211204_235950.jpg

    20211207_021152.jpg

    20211207_021148.jpg

    20211207_021605.jpg

The colors represent the individual bots of the team:
    Red: Pyro
    Orange: Pyre
    White: Flightpath
    Yellow: Seismic
    Blue: Submerger

In a cartoon or game, the appropriate color on the connector would glow with the coresponding bot connected to it.

I finnished every other major details with the CW Pyro reprolable kit. Really got a bang for my buck with this one.

And what is the end result of all this work?

Bang! I give to you Pyro's finnished and functional trailer!

    20211208_020948.jpg

    20211208_021127.jpg

    20211208_021218.jpg

    It was handpainted with:
    Citadel Yriel Yellow
    Citadel Abadon Black
    Citadel Lothern Blue
    Citadel Evil Sunz Scarlet
    Citadel Mechanicus Standard Grey
    Citadel White Scar
    Citadel Maccragge Blue
    Citadel Fire Dragon Bright
    Testors Flat Red
    Testors Metallic Gold
    Testors Metallic Silver
    Gundam Metallic Green Paint Marker

Base toy is CW Inferno. The extra parts are from Energon Slugslinger, a junker CW Slingshot, a junker Generations Thrilling 30 Trailblaizer, a junker DOTM Crankcase, multiple CW hand/foot guns, scratch built styrene parts and Shapeways CW connection port extenders.

Reprolables are from CW Pyro, CW Rook, TR Blaster, Bad Cube Trailbreaker, a Wreckers symbol set.

Let's take a look at it by comparison to what it looked like before:

    20211208_021953.jpg

And of course it has a base mode, though I did nees to take some liberties with this one:

    20211208_014843.jpg

    20211208_014954.jpg

    20211208_013854.jpg

    20211208_014727.jpg

It may not be exactly like G1 Pyro's base,
    300px-G1-toy-Pyro.jpg

But that's what updates are for, right?

And you can mount on either of Pyro's weapons onto the black platform:

    20211208_015251.jpg

    20211208_015335.jpg

    20211208_015521.jpg

    And that's pretty much it!

I'm not gonna lie nor do I want to sound arrogant, but I'm taken aback by how this turned out. When I had finnished putting the trailer back together after all the work was done, I couldn't believe that I had made that. It turned out so much better than I could have imagined considering that I had no specific plans for the paint scheme. Even the base mode looks better than I thought it would seeing as the bsse toys was not designed with something like this in mind.

Off course, this still combines like I showed in the last post, but seeing af the change is purely asthetic, there is not much point in showing that yet. I believe I should keep that for when Seismic and Submerger( Digger-3 and Submarine-4) are completed.

That's also why I didn't show Pyro in vehicule mode with the trailer. Seeing as I haven't begone what will be the connection point, which will be a drone vehicule, I didn't see much point yet.

All of this is to say that I still have ALOT of work to do on this project as a whole. But I do believe that this is a great place to this off for now. I've got some packing to do

I hope you ejoyed and I'll see you next time!

Tardy to the party here, but I'd scream if you actually kitted this custom out in Atlanta Fire Department colors.

Regardless, this is an extremely cool project and I hate that I just found out about it. Fantastic work all around.

(Part of me wants to suggest some kind of control yokes running from the exosuit to Pyro's arms for extra smashy-smashy effect, but this is such a massive undertaking as is that adding anything else is... well, it's a lot lol)

Hello everyone. I'm back with another update, though not the one I was planning on this time. The paints I need to complete the next Action master character have not arrived and I haven't finished planning their equipment's transformation yet. Bumer.

    So on too plan B!

I've continued to work on Digger-3, also known as Seismic. And it went further then I thought.

To begin with, I continued working a little bit on the paint job here and there:

    20211226_004451.jpg
    Though I'm nowhere near done.

No onto what took me the longest: converting the tank turret into a close facimaly of Digger-3's silhouette.

I knew I needed to extend where the cockpit sat. So I made a sliding bracket that it could sit on, move and still be removed:
    20211226_213531.jpg

Next up was filling out the back of the turret to be boxier:
    20211227_001637.jpg

    20211227_001645.jpg

    20211227_001702.jpg

This is what I had afterwards:
    20211228_000339.jpg
At this point, I wanted to just fill in the gaps, end it there and wait for an opportunity to spray paint it. Then I realized it wouldn't look good or accurated enough. So I decided to continue on and find the parts I needed to make it look accurate.

And after finding more CW hand/foot guns, the leftover feet from the Generations Protectobots Evac Squad Hot Spot that Pyro was made from, a grill from a 2 pack classics Optimus Prime, a random gastank piece from a KO transforming motorcycle toy, surpringly sturdy toothpicks(no really) and LOTS of styrene and super glue, I got to work.

So I built multy hinged brackets to permit the back panels to open up:

    20211227_230016.jpg

    20211227_234653.jpg

Then I drilled and carved a sliding path on the sides of the tank turret and hollowed out the inside of the CW hand/foot gun and split it:
    20220101_125828.jpg

    20220101_125842.jpg

    20220101_145535.jpg

    I used the existing pinholes.

    20220101_152018.jpg

Add alot of work later and:
    20220109_195120.jpg

    20220109_195128.jpg

    20220109_195139.jpg

Next up was the second "turret"(?). Basically, I took the 2 spare feet, the gas tank, lots of styrene and after some planning and no small amount of cutting, I managed to slap this together:
    20220109_195314.jpg

    20220109_195320.jpg

    20220109_195324.jpg

The last thing I did was finish the back. Very simple, I just cut up some styrene, slapped a grill on it and cut a little groove on the first roof for a pinhole to connect the turrets:
    20220109_195337.jpg

    20220109_195346.jpg

    20220109_195353.jpg

    20220109_200653.jpg

So here is what I got so far in vehicule mode:
    20220109_195828.jpg

    20220109_195839.jpg

    20220109_195845.jpg

And here is a preview of the turrets while in vehicule mode:
    20220109_201400.jpg

And what it will look like transformed into it's backpack configuration:
    20220109_201207.jpg

    20220109_201215.jpg

    20220109_201218.jpg

    Basicaly, it all collapses down.

I'm very much enjoying how this is turning out so far. Granted, I'm not done yet. I still need to finish tidying up the front end of the turret to make the vehicule mode coheesive and I want to intergrate the blue Energon hand/foot piece into the back. And I of course need to finish painting it.

And as a special bonus, I also did a microscopic amount of work on Submarine-4:
    20220103_160330.jpg

All I did was swap the head using a junker CW G2 Vortex head, added extra parts to the shoulders from leftover kneecaps of the POTP Jazz I used for my TurboRemastered Hurricane and used the leftover fist gun from the same Jazz and project to start finishing the backpack. But I will come back to this later down the line:

    20220103_160330.jpg

    20220109_233330.jpg

    20220109_233339.jpg

    20220109_233348.jpg

Lastly, I managed to find some parts to use for the 2 multypurpose drones I plan on making:

    20220109_233726.jpg

I have no real solid plan for the final designs but I'm happy I found these at least.

I will leave it at that for this update. The project is stiĺl going strong even though it's in my second tier of project priorities. Now hopfully I get those paints soon.

I hope you all enjoyed an I will see you in the next one.

Hello everyone. Since hammering away at my current ActionRemastered project pieces is taking forever and I'm also trying to balance some videogaming as well, I'm back with another update to what has so far been my longest running project. Or at the very least top 5. And this one marks yet another customizing first for me. But we'll get to it.

I did a little more work on the back end/back pack for Submarine-4.

Although I do like the back as is,
    16466253941421235760622912259225.jpg
compared to how much more accurate to their counterparts Pyre and Flightpath are and Seismic will be, Sub-Merger isn't gonna cut it at all.

So I started off by using what is left of a POTP fist that i'd cut up for my TurboRemastered Hurricaine an started adding styrene from there:
    20220109_233348.jpg

    20220111_153800.jpg
But as I was just starting, I got the urge to somehow utilize the existing slot for the primes somehow and after some tingkering, I found out that the junker Minicon Stormcloud the I have, whom was already missing a leg thus 1/4 his alt mode, fits in said slot:

    20220111_153750.jpg

So I finished up adding styrene to the backpack and created little slots to secure Stormcloud via the slidder tabs on his arms used to slide out his hands:
    20220111_170256.jpg

    16466249733944827067684646190088.jpg

    16466249894122330271091840950002.jpg

Then I got to the real work and the focal point of this post: replacing SC's missing leg and revamping his alt mode.

So first thing I had to do: make a ball joint. This is first time I've ever done this, but it did turn out in the end.

    20220112_005101.jpg

    20220112_005514.jpg

Firstly, I drilled a 5/32" hole in a piece of a thick styrene stick:
    20220112_005913.jpg

Then I made a smaller 9/64" hole in thin sheet styrene:
    20220112_005948.jpg

The smaller hole lets the ball joint have free movement but prevents it from popping out. Then I put the ball joint in and filled the other end with putty and let it harden into shape.

    20220112_005152.jpg

    20220112_005228.jpg

    20220112_005239.jpg

    20220112_005749.jpg

And I cut out a groove so it would move correctly.

Next thing I did was just cut off the other leg, which would no longer be needed:
    20220112_154442.jpg

And just went to town with styrene and pins to build new articulated legs that also served as the new front for the redone alt mode:
    20220112_180512.jpg

    20220112_180516.jpg

    20220112_165607.jpg

    20220112_180524.jpg

    20220112_180536.jpg

    20220112_180541.jpg

    20220114_013532.jpg

I traced the outline of the origional cockpit to fashion a futuristic/Cybertronien submarine silhouette for both leg and added tad points so they would stay together in alt mode along with giving him hinged heels:

    20220114_125608.jpg

    20220114_135320.jpg

Then I added fins to the hinges to act as the front of his feet:
    20220114_172709.jpg

And the end results so far are as thus:

    20220114_172512.jpg

    20220114_141939.jpg

And here is his new alt mode:
    20220114_173643.jpg

I'm not sure what the colours will be yet. But I do know he folds away:

I not sure about any of you, but I think this looks so much better in every way:

Obviously, I'm not finished just yet. I still need to finish the paint job and build the claw unit that will go underneath.

Oh, and I decided to quadruple down on the minicon partener thing. It wouldn't sit wright with me to have just 1 of these guys having a minicon partener. So I started working on fixing yet another junker minicon missing a leg. This time, it's oilslick:

Since his legs also work with ball joints, I just did the exact same thing and built a new ball joint piece with the same process:

The only extra step I did was carve the new into the proper shape:

    And the articulation is excellent.

But that's where my work on this project has stopped for now. My next objective will be to either replicate the origional leg exactly and preserving his OG alt mode or make him an El Camino. But we'll have to wait and see.

And don't worry, I'm plowing headstrong with my current ActionRemastered project. It's just taking longer then I though even though it's actually really simple in concept. ARG! But I'll leave it at that for now.

I hope you enjoy and I'll see you next time!
