This ought to be a blast from the past for some of you that have been around as long as I have, and longer. Back in the day, especially during the Alternator days, a lot of us customizers made customs of our namesakes here on the boards. Our own fan characters brought to life. I looked for pics of the original, created by Razerwire himself, but that thread is gone. I did however find his Animated version: Minor/Repaint: - Animated Razerwire And, I found fellow old school customizer SQ7’s take on the same: Minor/Repaint: - Alternators Razerwire and Redline (mod wars!) EDIT! Thanks to @roaddemon2001 for finding the original thread! The original Razerwire: Minor/Repaint: - I Got 99 Problems... Back then we were all a tight knit group. We were like long distant brothers, too many to name individually...the whole bunch of us. So I had this idea. I approached Razerwire with my idea, and with his permission, I present to you all: SS86 - RAZERWIRE Small swords are Drift. Large sword is 3rd party Drift. Decals are eBay. Paint is Rustoleum Ultra Flat Camo Black, Model Masters Silver, Gun Metal, and Semi Gloss black. Tamiya Flat Clearcoat. Crazy how it worked out too...just as with Alt. Razerwire, the way this dude is made, he conveniently has spaces to properly store his swords. CAR MODE: If things go as intended, this is the first of many...I have plans to make more. Hopefully, this stirred up some good ol memories for some of you guys. It surely does for me. Thanks for looking! Hope you enjoyed this blast from the past. See y’all at the next one!
Another one of your excellent customs. I love it when people make OCs and when people, with permission of course, do a "do-your-own-take" of the character.
Nice! Too new to understand fully what this represents, but what I’ve heard of that era of customizing is all good things. Really like how this turned out and the story behind it.
Mate, love it! Again, this is why I love OC's! I remember way back when -just after the 07 Movie was released- stumbling across the boards and discovering that kitbashing was a thing. I was "Holy crap, im not the only one who mods his toys!" It was like a whole new world was opened up to me. Making OC's of your namesakes was.... a totally mindblowing thing. The Plowking character stands out in my mind and seeing you guys do the things you did, got me into kitbashing transformers. Sorry, returning to topic, this is badass. I love the weathered grainy effect on the silver and the wear n tear on his alt mode. He looks like a racecar that gets raced, not garage jewellery and that's a plus to me. Keep it up mate. Cant wait to see the band back together.
Wow, just awesome. That was an interesting time back then. This really brings me back. I’ll have to try and figure out a namesake character for myself. I sure I got into customizing because of all the alternator customs here. So you’re partially to blame.
Reminds me to dig out my old Jaxius (my screenname everywhere but here) and finish it off as per usual amazing work you never fail to amaze
