Finally reassembled my guy, after welding every crack I found and drilling out all the pinholes. Took several days to ensure the welds had all cured, so hopefully that did the trick; I’m going to freaking cry if he breaks after all of that, especially because at this point, he’s technically in better shape than any replacement copy I would end up getting.

 

Now we just need to buy you a plane ticket to get to the factory and show ‘em how it’s done.

 

Might be able to use some thermal expansion tricks to our advantage. If you can keep the plastic warmer than the metal somehow that should make sure the hole stays at least a bit larger

Man, just caught up on all this feedback. I really wanted a transforming version of this Bumblebee but I'll just keep my DLX 3A one and hope they either fix this mold or someone else makes one.

 

So, the guys from Unique Toys who moved to Transcraft made a perfect Bumblebee, and they are gonna make the rest of the main cast!?

Guys, I've seen some jokes about the QC of this figure. Is it something anyone thinking about buying it should worry about?

Hey, guys. Good news on the disintegrating joints. I was one of the lucky unlucky few who missed the origional batch for my preorder so I'm currently waiting on the second batch. I emailed TF-Direct yesterday to ask when they thought the second batch would be shipped out but I also asked them if they would be fixing the joints everyone's been having problems with. Emily's response:

I really hope that she's right on this, as this looks to be one beautiful figure. I was initially upset that I'd missed out on the initial release. Turns out, it was a HUGE blessing in disguise. I do not know if TC will be doing anything about the products already shipped. Fingers crossed, maybe this is why the second batch is taking so long. Anyway, thought y'all would be happy to hear that.

 

Hmm after seeing this feedback, it makes me want to check mine out for cracks.
I actually mess with my bots a lot, if it can't handle that i might Be better off selling it before it breaks

 

Guys do you think this figure is dangerous, very fragile, and I shouldn't buy it? Or what?

 

id highly recommend, maybe i just got lucky cause i haven't run into any breakage issues and joints continue to be very sturdy after multiple transformations and posing. the one concern i would mention is paint chipping, the paint itself doesn't have chipping issues but the door wings and ankle joints move against sharp corners which can cause chipping, not very noticeable but is the only concern i've run into

 

I have a preorder in for the second batch. Seems like a decent chance this will be fixed. If not I'll just get replacement parts. The figure just looks so good and I've been waiting for that one BB movie Bee figure that hits the spot. This one does it, as long as it holds up.

 

I preordered this figure in March from TFSafari. It shipped a couple of weeks ago and I just received it. Transformed it once to vehicle and back without any real issues, then checked out this thread and realized it might be a disaster waiting to happen. Examining the joints on this figure, so far I do see hairline cracks on the small joint behind the knees used for transformation. I do like the figure a lot so it would be pretty disappointing if/when it breaks from transforming later on. Should I try applying some plastic weld or super glue to the hairline crack as preventive measure?

 

Was thinking about just selling mine off as all I did was put it on a shelf when I first got it, but going by the posts in here I may as well not bother if it's potentially gonna break, so I'm sure no one will want it now.  

 

Given that my shockwave's arms broke in LESS THAN 12 HOURS I think he's the winner. TC02 still alive and well so

 

My order from TF-Direct finally shipped. We'll see when it gets here if improvements have been made to the joints.
