I understand the concern, but I’d hardly say the quality has stayed the same or got worse with WFC. If anything they’re better quality than the previous series IMO.

I'm just saving up for the annual Titan-class figure now. I have other money-sucks I get more out of!

Nah, that's because the Shattered Glass subline comes with an exclusive pack-in comic. And that Megatron has a ton of extra bits added.
Or are you joking around? If that's the case, apologies for my denseness lol.

Then I dunno. Isn't SG Blurr going for $30? My best guess would be since they're of a set size class, maybe they plugged in the standard size class initially, and later changed them individually to account for the comic. It does make sense, but if I'm wrong then I'm wrong.

Rising prices have hit pretty much everything else...kinda surprised it’s taking toys this long to catch up. Fingers crossed for a good old fashioned global economic crash. Muahahahaha....

Smaller, more hollow figures. More fragile figures. Incomplete altmodes. And the trend of selling "Voyagers with extra crap in the box" Leaders and now with SS86 Hot Rod, "Deluxes with extra crap in the box" Voyagers. We're definitely getting less and paying more.

We do still get the occasional gem, but for every Kingdom Beast Megatron we also get Siege Astrotrain, Kingdom UM, Siege Shockwave (not terrible in itself but it's another Voyager sold as Leader).

Fun facts: The entire rant was on cards held by the family and he had to read it from one end to the other. Except for the Tylonol part. That was Chevy having a slight headache from his rant. And it was just *chef's kiss* the perfect ending.

More like “to meet year over year profits increase for Q3 and Q4 to impress share holders and CEO to make bonus” we need to raise prices. Shipping costs and cost of plastic goes up with inflation and they just increased it because of the following. So this press release is total bs.

I too prefer paying less for things than paying more.

But I swear to god, half the reactions here are as though they are being informed their insulin costs are going up. Have some perspective here, these are luxury items. No one needs these things. We want these things. Hasbro doesn't owe us these toys or have any ethical obligation to provide them. If raising the prices produces less customers and less money, that is for Hasbro to worry about. If it doesn't, then that *isn't* for Hasbro to worry about.

Treat this as the annoyance it is, not an outrage of justice.

No biggie for me, I don't buy the mainline stuff anymore anyways. My last purchases that weren't 3rd party were MPM Starscream, way too much for barely being painted. MPM Ratchet who I got on clearance for 60 bucks, which is pretty good and Unicron, who isn't really a mainline figure.

I feel for you guys that still collect the mainline figures though. I don't really miss trying to hunt down figures at stores.

That's weird, because everyone's been praising the recent run of WfC figures for how well they've captured both the bot and alt modes. To the point where they've often been labeled "mini-MPs" or "retail level MPs."

I understand people wringing their hands over price increases, because I've been seeing it at every price increase since Deluxes were $10. But, oddly enough, many of those same people are still around and also complaining about the paint apps and hollow spots on the new figures they've bought.

It's almost like Hasbro knows their customer base better than the customers know themselves.

Plastic is made from "big oil." Draw your own conclusions.

Concerning publicly traded companies, the board of directors is typically elected by the primary shareholders. Maybe that's what they meant?

Yeah, most of us stick around but imagine where prices would go if nobody complained. Last week, Hasbro reps explicitly said that they monitor the forums and community reactions. They are likely hearing this. I believe that many of us will indeed be scaling back as prices go up since many of us are already more or less maxed out as it is. We're not all just bitching to bitch.

Also, Takara Tomy seems to be aware of this price problem with the MP line. IIRC, they acknowledged this at an event in 2019 and now we're waiting on the new Skids mold that coincidentally is a lower price point item than anything they have offered in 5 years.

Having said all that, it is worth pondering the idea that if they are able to get the same spend from consumers while shipping less product, their margins may be significantly better. A $100 Commander figure is likely much more profitable than someone buying 10x Core class figures at $10each. So maybe they don't give a crap?

That’s some serious “big conspiracy” stuff right there.

My thoughts on this aren't reactive. I've known for years that I would eventually get priced out of collecting modern Transformers. I got priced out of collecting 25th Anniversary GI*JOE's, Masters of the Universe Classics, 3 3/4 Vintage Collection Star Wars figures, etc. It happened with other lines so I know it will happen with modern Transformers eventually.

I've already gotten more selective with my TF purchases. As prices increase, I will be even more selective.

One thing I'm not going to do is proclaim that I'll quit for good. Bottom line is I'll only buy what I'm willing to pay for. Even if most figures cost more than I'm willing to pay, I wouldn't rule out that some characters I'd shell out for. I'm a sucker for Japanese G1 so I'm sure I'll still pick up anything from Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory, and Zone.
