A lot of my enjoyment of the Bay films comes from the fact that I can speculate on a lot of things and come up with a lot of headcanons. Now it's no denying that most of the "headcanons" that I and other people have likely serve the purpose of filling in things that should have been actually acknowledged by the writers. However, I still wanted to make the thread to know how you guys make sense of some of the inconsistencies. However, headcanons in this context would refer to ones that aren't big enough to necessitate a whole theory post to itself. That said, what are some of your personal headcanons for the movies? One of my personal headcanons is that Starscream’s voice changed in RotF and DotM because he was more authoritative when Megs wasn’t around, both when Megs was trapped in ice and when he died in Mission City. Then as Megatron became leader again, he used his “asskissing” voice to appease, which he eventually ended up using as his regular voice because Megatron beat and yelled at him so often. The only time where this doesn’t apply is the Hoover Dam scene but even then I chalk it up to Starscream’s ego being crushed after he “fails Megatron yet again” and that he’s been trying to make up ever since by complimenting everything he does and using his asskissing voice.
Starscream was one of the jets in the first movie that was shooting megatron. The launchpad in bumblebee is actually omega supreme Shatter was a student of bludgeon blitzwing is actually ramjet The events of the reign of starscream are actually canon.
Oh, that's an interesting one. I guess you could say he said it when he got half his face blown off in RotF too.
Starscream head was still active in TLK ,just like Megatrons in Aoe, and it was self repairing and thats why his head is in intact....similar and an homage to the immortal ghost of starscream
TLK was just a fever dream of Cayde's daughter whats-her-name, and also mine. Not only did it never happen in the continuity, but it doesn't exist in the real world.
Optimus might be great at fighting and be a champion of freedom, but he's horrible at coming up with action-hero one-liners. He keeps trying, though, thinking that he can get better with practice. But it ain't happening any time soon. Optimus thought that ripping off the Fallen's face would kill him - he got the shock of his life when the Fallen got up and rabbited. A version of the events of the Bumblebee movie occurred in the Bayverse timeline - Bumblebee would have sought shelter with Charlie, but he didn't want to endanger her like Sam. Sam and Carly died in the events leading up to Age of Extinction.
Cemetery Wind started offing known human collaborators who posed a threat to their activities, so they eliminated Sam Witwicky and his family in a suspicious accident, as they figured he was a known individual who could expose their activities thanks to his link with the Autobots. Leo was “suicided”. This is also why Simmons fled to Cuba. Disturbed by her former boyfriend’s passing, Mikaela Banes starts looking into his death herself- and when she gets too close, they attempt to silence her in an accident that gets her father killed and her presumed dead. She manages to survive thanks to her resourcefulness, and finds an injured Barricade- who strikes a deal with her. She repairs him, he helps get her revenge against the Agent who ordered the strike on her and her father. Queue an anti-hero adventure, with Banes similar in ability to her depiction in Furman’s Titan Comics. After their objective is reached, Barricade finds it hard to let go- Banes is resourceful, and he gets along with her that fills a void left by Frenzy. Both of them have nowhere left to go, so they take their continued alliance day by day, doing what they can to avoid detection by Cemetery Wind and strike back at the organization. But when Megatron returns, and cemetery wind is disbanded, Barricade is stuck in a crossroads- Banes no longer needs protection or assistance, and she would probably be safer with a normal life. It’s a difficult decision, but in the end they bitterly part their separate ways, with Banes disappointed and Barricade uneasy for reasons he doesn’t understand. (Banes repairs him akin to how Cade repaired Optimus- patch up the structural damage and actual pressing injuries, self repair system takes care of cosmetics- Barricade does what Optimus does and scans a new form to accelerate the cosmetic restoration process).
I remember someone said that it sounded like Sentinel said "oh... fuck" after Prime shot him in the head. Here at 7:19.
I remember seeing that comment aswell. Seeing how some PG+13 films only get one use of saying fuck before being moved to R, it's imaginable they'd slip it in there. But honestly I'm surprised DOTM didn't get rated R in general. There wasn't any gore but the humans getting shot instantly into skeleton bones was off putting. That one Chicago invasion scene too had a bunch of bodies piled up in a subway train.
