Goldbug, Starscream, Rodimus, and Jetfire have been rumored for this line, so one of your wishes might be granted.

 

Oh, I just assumed you'd rather have a Megatron that was already in G1 colors, because it sounded like you intended to paint over all the colors that set this one apart from G1 lol

I know that the first issue of a comic run, or issues with more pages can be about 1/3 more expensive than other issues. Perhaps something like that was taken into account with Blurr's price?

Why would he?

I mean, technically both stories could be fudged into the same continuity, I guess. He could be both a rebellious political activist as well as a conspiracy theorist math professor.

I don't think that would match stylistically with the other toys in the line. That's a whole different kind of greeble

I thought it might be possible that that'd happen for Megs but the art they've shown off does have a headsculpt that matches the siege figure except for the expression

 

His face look like a kind leader, and has difference with his chin. SG megatron's face is not an unmerciless boss like Megatron, the merciful decepticon leader's face. Siege's Megatron is a good one, but his face is very nasty.

 

I know Goldbug is one of the rumoured figures for the 5 we will be getting, but I really hope hes not a Minibot, in Shattered Glass hes supposed to be the Seeker Commander for the Autobots, and his original figure really reflects that in my opinion due to how tall he was, I'm personally hoping he will be a repaint of Earthrise Sunstreaker with a new head, if not Sunstreaker than maybe Siege Hound, purely because Hound was used to make a Siege version of Cybertron Hotshot, and the original SG Goldbug was a repaint of Cybertron Hotshot, I know the Hotshot made from the Hound mold is meant to represent his Cybertron Defence form from that series, but it would still be more fitting than being a Minibot.

Also, so far I feel like there are to many Autobots and not enough Decepticons, we already have Optimus and Ratchet with Blurr currently up for preorder, and then we have the rumoured Goldbug, and Jetfire, and then all that remains is Starscream for the Decepticons, so thats 5 Autobots and only 2 Decepticons, I really hope we get another 5 figures for next year, because I would honestly really love Sideswipe, Soundwave with Ravage, Cyclonus, and possibly Thundercracker, I think doing their own original take on SG Barricade would also be really cool as he is my favourite Decepticon, maybe have him in his Recon colours from the 2007 movie toyline? I still want new figures of Wheeljack, Jazz and Grimlock though among other Autobots, but hopefully if we get a second wave the Decepticons will get a bit more love.

Nothing wrong with the stock Siege head, but Miner Megs would've been a nice touch.

 

I liked this at first but the more i look at it, especially in jet mode, all i can see is Hunt For The Decepticons Seaspray

Your toy. You don’t have to stick with the new backstory they created. Go with your preference or make up your own. Considering all the continuities out there (G1 cartoon, G1 Marvel, IDW, and all that RID, Armada, Cyberverse, and everything else including the latest Netflix ) there’s no one continuity anyway. Everyone’s been remaking it as they go along.

I don’t mind them having the same basic head shape and facial features, but why does this noble version of the character have that evil smirk? I guess they just couldn’t be bothered resculpting that, but seems a shame as they made an effort to create new cockpit attachments, etc.

As for those who want this based on the new Galvatron mold, this is shattered glass Megatron, not SG Galvatron. While part of me wishes they’d done a bit more to refine it*, (Edit: although the more I see of it, the more I like it. Uh-oh....) I’m glad they kept things consistent with Siege or Earthrise. This is the original Megatron of that universe before the great unifying force of good SG lord Unicron remade him with new powers to spread peace throughout the universe.

Incidentally, I don’t know what the official stories behind SG Unicron and Galvatron are, if such characters even exist. I made that up using the twisting good/evil themes. See what I mean? Our toys, our stories.


*The other part of me is kind of glad they didn’t as I might have felt the need to buy it then, and I’m planning on cutting back now.

 

All these haters bashing on this figure. I think its awesome and I have no interest in the shattered glass figures ( this may force me to do otherwise). I skipped Optimus / ratchet and Blurr but one look at how they made this megs different and I was onboard. Color scheme does look great and I really do like how a couple add on bits produced a new alt mode. I preordered without hesitation.

 

This is really channeling a lot of Energon style. I dig that.

 

Oh man, I forgot about Aquarius. Remold of Earthrise Quintesson Judge please, Hasbro!

Rodimus isn't coming, least not in the capsule collection/SG subline. Maybe selects though?

Technically the subline itself is pretty even with 2 dedicated Autobots and 2 dedicated Decepticons and one that can swap factions.

 

I'd never said about HAPPY megatron. I said that his face doesn't fit to good sides leader one. His face looks like evil boss megatron. They have to change his head into art-like head.

The head should have been remolded. Lost the war and exiled or not, the scowl makes no sense on a figure that's supposed to be heroic. Optimism should be abound for a character who is the equivalent to Optimus Prime.

And while I appreciate the effort, Holy Jeebus I havent seen an alt mode that bad since Titans Returns Broadside's "Jet Mode"

Lost the war, lost his home, lost everything he knew and held dear and is probably getting dragged back into a conflict he would rather forget because he doesn't find himself worthy of being the leader anymore.

 

Very good point, it's easy to forget that the Optimus and Ratchet were released in Generations Selects and arent a part of this subline, I'm just thinking of the new SG collection as a whole though as opposed to what sublines the figures are split up into which is why for me the team's numbers feel a bit uneven, but I suppose there is always the chance down the line that they might release a SG Decepticon 2-pack under the Generations Selects line before doing another 5 figure wave, which would be nice, would be awesome to get Sideswipe and Soundwave with Ravage together, but possibly including one of the jet Micro-Masters as Sideswipes partner Whisper would be pretty cool too.

 

I can't understand why just hasbro's lazy head sculpture get meaning about exile out of shame. Hasbro have to make the good side megatron-toy, but toy doesn't look like good sides leader. In official art, megatron has a different chin, younger and great leader's face, but toy didn't use this head. Instead they just used a original siege's one. I think they are too obsessed with cost reduction

 

Fair. If you want some cheap cons to bulk up their side a bit, Dr Wu has a WFC compatible Squawkbox figure (cassettes even fit in WFC Soundwave) that is also getting released in SG colors. It's only $25 which is pretty good for a 3p figure. It's not much, but it's something and would at least even the numbers.

I'm sure this line is like anything else. If it does well, they'll likely find ways to introduce new figures down the road. Just my opinion though so take it for what it's worth.
