When I was buying wave 1 I don’t think Hasbro pulse was out in the UK and Kapow/ID didn’t have him or Blackarachnia. They’re a bit greedy I’ll agree on that.

Deluxes were $10 for more then a decade, and now have more than doubled in a decade (and gone up $6 over 2 years!), while the old inflation calculator (nor perfect, but a decent barometer) says that your 2000 $10 is worth $15.38 in 2021. So the inflation of TF prices has more then doubled while the size, quality, paint, build and accessories have all continued going down, down, down. but hey, ankle tilts!!!

Yes im hoping if price gets increased thats similar to how it was with the difference between wfc trilogy and the combiner wars trilogy with an increase in quality.

(The implication is that Hasbro's justifications for price increases are bullshit.)

My money is focused more on MP lines anyways.
There is too much shelf warming of figures and the not enough new ones.
I remembered the Beast Wars figures costing $5.40 with tax.
The figures they are selling near that price today are less articulate then the BW figures.
Also I'm a bit frustrated with the instructions at times, it is unclear or not necessary.
I'll welcome to pay more if they do better figures, but at this state, I'm glad I'm not a completist.

It is ok. I almost have everything I need anyways from them. There are only a few G1 characters left that need a good CHUG toy to milk some money out of me. After that what are they gonna do? As much as I love Transformers I feel we are almost at the point of unless they do something new what is even left?

Oh yikes. Well, on one hand, aside from QC in Earthrise, and I guess size if that’s an issue for you, there aren’t that many issues with transformers nowadays imo. However, I say this as someone who’s doing a lot of backcollecting, broke most of the time, and not really a line wide completionist anyways. Pair this with the fact that for the most part, I’m out of collecting for a bit, it doesn’t affect me as much. Then again, my stance is completely based on how much the increase will be. Whenever that comes out, my stance will shift, which way is unknown atm.

You also get less hollow toys with more articulation. So pick your poison.
The cheapest you can get 3P figures is legends since 3P CHUG is dead and that's still like 40-80 bucks.

I don't think a $3 increase will change things in the regard that much. Considering it already happened.

Oi, inflation isn't the sole reason for prices going up. Gas prices have been rising too. And guess what? Plastic comes from oil, like Gas! It has quite a bit to do with the resources not being as available/getting more expensive. And I mean, at least we don't have to deal with the craptastic stickers that were used during some parts of Prime Wars.
And articulation has never been better!

Articulation, proportions and screen accuracy have definitely been improved since earlier Generations, especially the low point of T30 being very hit-and-miss. Prime Wars had great gimmick integration but it hurt many figures of characters not of said gimmick.

So true. I just bough some Energon figures lately and man Downshift is a nice dense toy but then you have Earthrise Wheeljack who is awesome but just empty.

If I was a kid I would go for the less hallow over articulation. As an adult the articulation helps make it more accurate...

a lot of them arnt made of plastic. They’re made of something similar and let’s not compare 3p to official please. They’re apples and oranges. Some are charging commander class prices on a legends size figures with a couple accessories. Just an example but let’s really not go down that rabbit hole

It was only made because Hasbro got convinced on the fact they could reuse as much of the molds and engineering. Given it was Scramble City 2.0 I can't really be mad at it because things being interchangeable was the whole point. Now I'll admit a lot of later CW was quite lazy but the core combiner teams (Aerialbots, Protectobots, Stunticons and Combaticons) did fairly well. Only big complaint I'd give to CW, at the time, was the lack of the beast combiners which POTP and Legends/SELECT helped fill out. CW was good for what it did and I can't fault them for wanting to reuse, say, Swindle as Hound. The new combiners were kind of a bonus to the main focus of the line and that line delivered for the most part.

I'd say the only true fuckup of CW is how pathetic the Hasbro Computron was.
