The only justification to the possible $25 price point is that they start to do more solid figures with less hollow parts, more detail and more paint maybe.

Exactly this, just checked with my friend on the brand, this is only regarding the price jump to make $20 figures $23. Nothing else is going up and this is just an oddly late article, now can everybody calm down now?

Not often you see someone pin down the root of the problem on this stuff. It’s not about “politics”, at least not in the sensational, right or left way. This is across every political divide. Monetary policy is on an unstustainable trajectory. Frankly, the only way I think supporters of this system hope to save it is to buy time long enough for automation to completely reshuffle the deck and shoot labor costs through the absolute floor.

Not quite yet but if Walmart ever reduces its bulk orders, I think that’s possible in the long run

To the people who are suprised about this...really? The pandemic has hit literally everywhere, Plastic, Cardboard and wood shortages are ripe right now. Did we all think this wouldn\'t happen?

Tbh with the Kingdom line, the figure have slightly increased anyway, so maybe this is the price increase they were on about and we are just being told now? And honestly, Barring some normal QC, Kingdom has been knocking it of the park, i\'ll happilly pay a bit more so long as the quality remains.

To those moaning, literally read the god damn news once in a while, It\'s not only Hasbro doing this, Literally EVERYWHERE is doing this.

Know what, you may be right. Now it stands to question why they didn't change the shin details if they were redoing that part anyway.

    Wouldn't be surprised...

The thing is, is that this time last year I had about 25 new figures while this year it's only 12 between Kingdom (4), SS86 (5) and some last minute ER's....

So why should I care if the price goes up if they're not making anything I want but more SIEGE Megatron repaints and OP's anyway?

Mind you there's over 100 more G1 characters that deserve new quality figures and none of them are SG. So why justify or complain about future price hikes if Blaster, Blitzwing, Deathsaurus, Starsaber, Thunderclash, Straxus, Bludgeon, Thunderwing, Strika, Slipstream, Grindcore, Jhiaxus and Crankcase (just to name some) don't appear to be part of that future anyway?

I was talking about the Megatron for the second part of my sentence. They did remold the head on Blurr though.

Good news! 3P & MP prices have also gone up.

Guess what happens when Hasbro raises? YES! 3P & MP prices rise again! :(

I was tempted to start with some Kingdom figures that looked decent but meh, I'll stick to buying 3p and KO.

Good thing TFW are not made of wood. That is two to four times higher at my local Home Depot.

all materials costs and shipping have gone up. I don’t blame hasbro for this.

As more families spend more time and money on Hasbro products because of the pandemic, they naturally must raise their prices.

Lol okay then, get bent Hasbro. At least WFC is going out with a bang and with just a few more figs to add to my collection I was gonna stop collecting soon anyway.

We've already seen Hasbro flirting w price hikes.

    ML & Deluxe figs @ $23.

Aside from testing price hike tolerance, I think Hasbro is also tightening supply to make new prices stick.

When u go to TFW2005's deal thread, u may b surprised to see "deals" of paying MSRP for figures. That's because scalpers swoop in to triple prices of all the new releases. Stories of guys waiting outside of Ollie's to buy entire shipments of discounted figures. It's messed up.

So no, dont think "no biggie, I'll wait for sale/discount" because odds r that those figures sell out to scalpers at full price. I could blame Covid, but I think kids r not collecting, and hence we dont see massive gluts of product like we used to. With customer base dwindling, prices will skyrocket. It's retail destiny, sadly.

I really hope you’re right. It’ll suck for Nerf and board game fans though.

Boy, I remember when I thought 17 bucks was too much.
I knew this day was coming, but it still hurts to see it happen.
I guess that will be the end of me collecting figures. Time to find some other hobbies.
Maybe someday they will go back down in price, but I don't think that has ever happened before.
