Just like 2012-2013 all over again. Things got so bad so fast it put me out of collecting for about 5 years. Prices didn't go down but at least the toys got good again. Given where the economy seems to be heading, I've already been worried about consistency and quality of the lines I'm invested in. I really don't want Studio Series to devolve into FOC-tier stuff.

Only things I badly want would be Star Saber and Deathsaurus. Kingdom I've hesitated buying due to the hard times despite being a massive BW fan. I'm waiting to see more of the line to decide my plan, with one of them simply buying figures of the characters I don't already have the '90 toys of or at least not their season 1 designs (or in some cases, the toy broke despite my best care). However lack of Tarantulas and Terrorsaur have somewhat screwed with those plans. I'm hesitating because this might just be like Siege all over again and next year we see Transmetals.

Nothing brings out the children in adults like being told they have to pay more for their toys. I get it, I love transformers too, and I also like money and wish I could have both.

But let's go ahead and avoid temper tantrums. Learn to express your frustration in healthy ways, please.

We are definitely getting Terrorsaur, strong rumours for Tarantulas.

If true, then Transformers are going to end up becoming a rather high-end toy, at least the fully featured ones (with the more limited ones filling the cheaper slots as seen with Cyberverse), much like how those fancy LEGO collector sets are astronomically high priced, almost 10 cents for a single plastic brick last I checked.

Honestly this is probably why I've moved more and more to both Gunpla, which is rapidly becoming similarly priced to Transformers with the added factor of having to build the figures yourself (which is part of the appeal of Gunpla) and my model train layout since with more disposable income, things with my model trains can simply be upgraded in any way I choose as opposed to Transformers where you have to keep buying the same character every few years. That last fact is largely why I haven't bothered touching much of the new figures as I'm perfectly happy with my older Classics 2006/Universe/Generations figures, I don't need a fully accurate Sunstreaker when the 2008 one does its job perfectly well to this day.

And they say this after showing off another reuse of the Siege Megatron mold that has extensive retooling with new parts and is from a subline not everyone one asked for.

Oh. Lovely, this hobby becomes even more expensive for me. Sooner or later it\'s going to be 30+ dollars for a deluxe. -_-

Um. Didn't they JUST raise prices? Like, a couple of months ago? At least with Deluxes; from $19.99 to $22.99. I'm thrilled for those of you who can keep affording this hobby, but I was already half out the door after they went from ~$10 to $20 in only a few years (or at least what seems like a few years...I'm old). I wouldn't mind so much if the quality was there, but I'm old enough to remember a time when hollow areas were rare, as were stress marks. I've been buying more 3rd party figures over Hasbro in recent years because, while more expensive, I generally feel like I'm getting more. And that's not even taking into account $30 Deluxe+ figures like Hotrod and $20 Deluxe- figures like Cliffjumper.

We don't even know how much the price increase is and people are already acting like it's the end of the world.

Yeah the just-a-step-above-sweatshop labor that most companies in the US employ makes their excuse even more ascinine.

Because for a lot of us, the LAST price increase, only a few months back, WAS a big deal. Not all of us can afford to be nickel-and-dimed to death for this hobby.

Probably shouldn’t have made this public the same day they reveal their world-killing monopoly money scheme.

Once Hasbro starts asking $25 for a deluxe the size of Studio Series BB, I'm out.

Can't help feel that the 30 dollar deluxe that was the most recent Hot Rod was them testing the waters to see if people would actually shell out the money for a deluxe figure in that price range.

They used this argument a few years ago when oil spiked to like 100$ a barrel. Then it crashed and the prices remained the same.

I'm already cherry picking marvel legends. I'm cherry picking kingdom and not buying any beast war toys

I'll cherry pick harder and just continue on my minicon quest more and more.

All we have here is hasbro using lame excuses to make more money from us.

I remember when I said these toys quality was getting worse and people laughed. Yet here we are..

So glad I stopped collecting Transformers toys when I did. I'm better off.

I was thinking that to. It reminds me back in 2011 or so when the Toys R Us near me suddenly jacked Deluxes up from $11.99 to $17.99 (War For Cybertron Cliffjumper). And then a year or so later, that became the new normal for them everywhere.
