With regards to the causal fans comment...yeah, I get what you mean but I've come across on other forums that G14 was a good film...even compared to G19 (KOM).

Stats were also brandied about that the G14 made more monies (don't know if its true) than G19 as further evidence? Sometimes, I don't know what to think because personally, I enjoyed G19 more than G14.

Godzilla sizing up rivals old and new.

You can appreciate how he acts against each opponent. Against his nemesis Ghidorah, there's less posturing, just bracing himself for the inevitable fight to the death. Against the new kid on the block, Godzilla is obviously threatening, telling the ape he better back off right now or he's gonna get hurt.

Oh wow, you're completely right, lol. All those wacky showa era moves are now possible in a Hollywood Godzilla film.

Thanks for the numbers! I'm curious too see how GvK will go but I think it just edge KSI or just miss its numbers.

...dude you have no idea how shocked I was when I first watched the the big G doing all the above actions...LOL!

Do you have a favorite version of Godzilla's theme or a favorite Godzilla them in general? My favorite is a toss up between the 1962 version and the 1964 version.

    EDIT: Also the 1975 version

Obviously nothing can beat Akira Ifukube's work, it's the epitome of iconic.

Personally though I think my favorites are 'Persecution of the Masses' and the dope remix of Blue Oyster Cult's Godzilla from King of the Monsters. KOTM also had really epic versions of all four of the main Kaiju's themes.

In terms of traditional Godzilla soundtracks, Monster Zero or Destroy All Monsters are pretty high up there. I love the military march that plays throughout DAM and also Rodan’s theme in both (which is technically Varan’s but reused for the later films).

Very unpopular opinion, but Hedorah’s soundtrack is actually really good (aside from maybe Godzilla’s theme). The way that Hedorah’s theme evolves and becomes more full as the movie goes on is a really neat touch, culminating in the music that plays when he appears at Mount Fuji.

All of the little intermission jingles and soundtracks are nice too.

To be honest I'm a fan of music in any kaiju movie like my motto says, "If it has a good beat to it I'll listen if not I pass." No matter if it's Godzilla's March from Ifukube to modern artists singing about monsters.
