The Last Knight and my DOTM rewatches have pretty caused me to dislike the Wahlberg films a lot (I say this somewhat ironically given my username). The film ended with a nice neat bow on it: Megatron and pretty much every (familiar and marketable) Decepticon were dead, Cybertron was no more thus resulting in Earth becoming the permanent home of the Autobots, and Prime laments that he and the Autobots will “never fore sake earth and it’s people”. There are some things I don’t like: Ironhide getting shot in the back and never getting a fighting chance, Starscream getting killed by a human is absolutely lame, Bay’s misinformation campaign leading us to believe Shockwave was the main villain when he’s only got 5 minutes of screen time and his death just sucks, and, most of all, Carly’s scene with Megatron. I am aware of what happened behind the scenes and what led to Megan Fox’s firing, but that scene with Carly and Megatron was obviously intended for Mikaela. Everything she’d been through with Sam and Autobots had built up to her confronting the leader of the Decepticons. Somewhere, in a better universe, this happened. It’s such a fantastic film, though.

“Battle” is easily some of the best pieces of music to come from the films behind “Arrival to Earth”. I really hope they bring Steve Jablonsky back at some point.

I say that DOTM had a very intriguing build up to Sentinel's betrayal. They had to do it from the humans perspective to make it look like a mystery plot, although they could have the Autobots be more involved in the mystery solving like have Brains and Wheelie tag along with Sam to the Russians like in the comic.

It's been a month since I bought new figs which means it's time to buy new ones (again). I also got some leftover birthday cash to make use of. I have three choices I'm looking to buy. Help me decide which of them is the best:

    OSKO Jetfire

    SS Sentinel

    Roadbuster and Topspin (both together)

OSKO Jetfire. Doesn’t he light up or something? Also, he’s huge.

Sentinel’s really good too, but Jetfire seems like he’ll give you more bang for your buck.

Jetfire! His robot mode has so much character and Jet mode looks amazing.

    Goes great with Optimus.

Sentinel is also good but you really need to give him his missing shield to complete his look.

Roadbuster and Topspin are only worth it if you are going all in on the wreckers and even then I bought them so that Shockwave could have bots to fight other than Optimus.

I think the first film is still my absolute favourite of the bunch, but Dark of the Moon is a close second. I totally agree about the score, it's got some really great pieces on there. Such a shame it's not on Spotify (but the video game score is for some reason?)

Personally I prefer to enjoy DOTM as a stand-alone film rather than a sequel. It's just as enjoyable, but the continuity doesn't make you scratch your head anymore :lol

Definitely Jetfire, though be wary. I don't know about the OSKO, but on the official figure his spine has been known to break in a few cases, meaning you can't transform him properly AFAIK

    Thank you!
Thanks! And yes, I did @savio-prime 's mod for the backpack. I also added wrist articulation on the right arm and he has the Dr Wu sword/shield set. And of course I painted the heck out of him :)
Wow thanks dude! I'll post some more later from this sequence. I love the look that the LEDs give, but my current phone really isn't up to the task of getting quality low-light photos so I may have to use my girl's phone next time.
Yeah I rewatched it recently too. DotM, like all the bayverse films, needed to be WAY shorter and tighter. I'm hoping that @Shadow25 can take his editing cleaver to it at some point!

Yeah I like to watch the movies as their own things with very light continuity from the previous one.

It makes it much easier to digest once you take the movies lightly and enjoy the ride.

RotF is unironically my favorite of the bunch. I mean it's terrible, but it's got Jetfire, the forest fight, Megatron's resurrection, the Constructicons combining, Optimus airdrop against Demolishor, Dickbot the Blender Guy, a huge variety of kickass robot designs, and one man alone, betrayed by the country he loves.

That being said, it's been ages since I've seen any of these movies, and I'm not in the mood to revisit any of them anytime soon.

Started reworking dino, (don't worry - got another arriving monday) into a new character. Wanted mainly to do away with the faux chest. Using the abdomen from the aoe crosshairs repaint, (whoever that was), and a head from a junk ko of the red sideswipe repaint (whoever that was). He's got new hands, dont like dinos mitts, and he may get new feet, too. So far the only compromise is a head that will probably partsform. Got some nice peacock pearl paint on the way that i hope works for him.
    I may call him... Mirage...:p  20210424_155024.jpg

Why is rotf considered terrible? I see quite a few people say this, from the top of my head, it's a movie about decepticons trying to harvest energon (from the sun), Sam and his sidekicks team up with his galaxy brain to solve a mystery to "magically" revive optimus instead of using a medic (but you know... Human plot), and amazing fight scenes? Like, is transformers supposed to be anything else?

I haven't de-combined my Jetfire in a while, and I'm wondering if there would be any adverse affects to any of his modes if I were to remove a lot of material on the ankles so that he can have more ankle bend in the opposite direction for combined mode. Any insight would be appreciated! Also, here're another couple random shots from yesterday:

I'd put my money on Jetfire; its a great mold and at this scale the robot is perfect next to the old ROTF line and the jet scales well with studio series.

Great plastic quality and light up eyes also help to sell the guy! let me know if you need any comparisons to help convince you :p

Y'all are missing out if you haven't listened to the complete score. There's so much more to it than they released on the CD. Same for RotF. The complete score for RotF might be contender for my favorite of all of them. There's so much more use of the original Decepticon theme than you hear in the actual movie.

I used to think RotF was the worst of the bunch, but then came AoE and TLK. Even DotM I don't feel like held up well. But RotF seems better now in hindsight. It did a good job of keeping the same atmosphere as the first movie. DotM just straight up changed it altogether and got less fun and more serious.

Is rotf plot really as bad as people are saying it is? The Decepticons were tough, even killing Optimus (whereas I thought dotm made them pretty piss weak, I mean they didn't even let Shockwave and Starscream put up a fight). Unless rotf as a whole was more of a "cool factor" rather than having a good story?
