Any rumors or whispers on what the deal is with Earth Sideswipe's release? That Amazon listing showed Nightprowler instead of Grimlock...unless if there's more than one Sideswipe pack coming. Hmm...

 

It sucks cause personality wise besides the combaticons, they’re definitely the most fun combiner team, just sucks the original designs aren’t that great

I mean.... I never collected the city bots (except scorpinok and I guess some would count omega as one) because they were just honestly way too small. We’re never gonna get an in scale city bot because that’d be like six feet tall. Honestly CW combiners are technically at the right height but like I feel like the aerialbots and combaticons atleast should have been bigger, considering they are literal jets, tanks, and helicopters. Plus they were all around the height of omega if not a tad bit shorter

The Dinobot Kingdom mold lends itself to that, at best we can expect a Dinotron with a new robot head and beast sculpting, and a legs molding.

Are we looking at the same toy? The alt mode has so many gaps and the shoulder plates never seem to sit right. And his fast pack thing/battle sledge?/Shield? Other than a place to keep his helmet is pretty pointless, the Netflix show seemed to leave it out.

The scale chart gets ignored by the show more than it's followed, I've found maybe two scenes where Skyfire is any where near that size. Majority of the time he's head and shoulders over Prime and Megatron, or they come up to his chest, so if it's about show accuracy then following the scale chart isn't actually accurate.

Yes I know there are load of errors and odd animation choices like what you've put there but in re watching the show Skyfire is pretty consistently smaller than that scale chart says. If anyone else is re watching G1 and want to point me to scenes where Prime, Megatron, Soundwave and the seekers are shown as only being at Skyfire's crotch height regularly I'll concede the point but as I said most of the time they come up to his chest, so to me that's the size Skyfire should be.

 

I can only hope, but if the limb releases are being spread out, with a Commander Class torso, it's entirely possible the limbs will be Voyagers. I do hope you're right, tho. I want a new Bruticus.

I can understand that, but as I said, I only need a loose scale. Combiners about twice as tall as Prime and Megatron, with City Bots about twice that height is fine for me.

I think he means the black market. I recall that prior to the leaked images, leakers spoke of Galvatron's imminent availability on the black market.

 

Honestly, I highly doubt Hasbro's gonna dedicate 4 of maybe 6 Voyager molds in the line to one combiner team. Don't get your hopes up for anything larger than Deluxes.

I thought about it, and I don't see them being Voyagers. Think about how Commander Rodimus is more Leader sized with Optimus (which I guess is Voyager but also-- nevermind). I can see Motormaster being the size of Jetfire with Deluxe cars

 

Because we've gotten so many Sideswipe redecos in the past.

Pretty much every Sideswipe redeco in WFC has been a new interpretation of an existing character that used the G1 mold - Sideswipe, Red Alert, G2 Sideswipe, Tigertrack, Deep Cover. This is a nostalgia fueled line, and they will leave no nostalgia unturned. Probably didn't need to do Sideswipe and Red Alert for Netflix, but it was inevitable that at least one would end up there, and the dual Deep Covers baffle me but the rest are just giving fans what they want. Even Gigawatt is a toy fans have been requesting for at least 20 years, and this was a perfect mold for that vehicle. And despite the... 9?... current uses of this mold, fans have still been demanding Clampdown and Earth modes. No idea how well the mold is holding up after all this, but I am really curious to see if there will be demand for all the rest in the Earth mode as well.

Do injection mold plates actually wear out from normal, careful use? I would expect that the flow of melted plastic would be fluid enough and the source material free of abrasive impurities that it would last a very, very, very long time.

Yeah. I love my Siege Jetfire a lot (I don't have an FT Phoenix) but I agree his alt mode suffers from a few heavy shortcuts that his size would have allowed them to solve if they spent a little more money on him. But I am happy with the amount of equipment, the blast effects, the sculpt, paint, and the joints (except his feet, they suck sweaty goat dong).
