So far's we've seen the first cast with newbies Nyx & Skold.

But who else from the series to bring back? Those we've seen on the show and those we've seen only as toys.

We'll probably see Tigatron, Airazor, Blackarachnia & Inferno.

But would be nice to bring Polar Claw with his attack bat, B'Boom & Transquito being triplechangers and of course Iguanus! It'd be nice to see him get his Transmetal II soon.

Wolfang and Insecticon are both excellent picks, as they were intended to show up in the original cartoon but were ultimately scrapped-- Wolfang because it was just easier and cheaper to tweak Cheetor's animation model to make Tigatron, and I'd imagine similar budgetary concerns factored into Insecticon being cut.

Personally I'm hoping that we get a lot of the 1997 characters, primarily the Deluxes, because there were a lot of fantastic designs there. And yeah, in that number I include Retrax, widely considered to be the worst BW toy of all time. I feel like there'd be a lot of comedic value in making him the put-upon Long Haul type who hates his job and his colleagues and regularly fantasizes about leaving them all to die. Like you already said, B'Boom and Transquito would be great to see in action, especially if the triple-changing gimmick is kept intact (I love B'Boom's bonkers weapons platform configuration) and of course it would just make a great deal of sense from a marketing perspective to eventually throw the Fossilizers into the mix.

Maybe in the comics this time Wolfang & Insecticon can finally make an appearance.

Wonder if Buzz Saw can appear too, due to him and Waspinator's faces?

I like your thought on Retrax like Long Haul. It'd fit perfectly. Some of the Preds can hate their jobs. LOL

At least he's got the courage and durability to make up for his lack of nearly everything else!

Wonder how the Fuzors will appear?

We need more better beast combiners than just Magnaboss & Tripredicus.

It'd be awesome if other characters that never showed up in the show got to appear, like Wolfang, Bonecrusher, Jetstorm, Iguanus and so on.

    • Wolfang: ?
    • Razorbeast: ?
    • Polar Claw: ?
    • B'Boom: ?
    • Armordillo: ?

    Predacons:
    • Iguanus: ?
    • Insecticon: ?
    • Buzz Saw: ?
    • Transquito: ?
    • Retrax: ?

Well, using your examples and the BW Sourcebook (for all its faults) as rough bases in these instances...

Wolfang: Team sharpshooter, and effective team player. Like Tigatron he spends a lot of time out in the wild but appreciates the company of others, be they his fellow Maximals or genuine flesh and blood wolves.

Razorbeast: Tough, ornery, and stubborn, but dependable. Somewhat Brawn-esque with his propensity to lean towards machismo.

Polar Claw: A stickler for rules and regulation, can recite the entire Pax Cybertronia offhand. Adheres as closely to it as possible, expects his fellow Maximals to do the same, and it drives him up the wall when the others fail to live up to his standards. Not very well liked, but undeniably courageous and loyal.

B'Boom: Guerilla warfare expert. Heavily armed, and works best in dense foliage that can both conceal him and give him ample space to maneuver in Mandrill mode. His brusque demeanor can be offputting, especially in conjunction with his not-inconsiderable firepower, but he knows what side he's on. Tends to regard regulation and protocol loosely in contrast to Polar Claw, so the two don't get along very well.

Armordillo: A brilliant technician and honestly a straight-up nerd. Spends a lot of his time obsessively tinkering with a wide variety of booby traps for a hapless Predacon to stumble into. Eccentric, maybe a little absent-minded, but generally pretty agreeable.

Iguanus: A consummate professional and Predacon patriot through and through. Unlike other Predacons he doesn't bother trying to claim leadership for himself and is content to stick to the background. Fairly taciturn, though he does take a fair amount of pleasure in his work as a saboteur. Potentially his G1 counterpart after having undergone the Great Upgrade.

Insecticon: Security officer, and obsessive about it, one might even say downright neurotic. Keeps tabs on enemies and friends alike, and has a reputation for being a snitch and/or using the information he gathers for the purposes of blackmailing his compatriots. No one really likes him very much, save for his superiors who he does everything within his power to suck up to.

Buzz Saw: Cripplingly insecure and cowardly, covers it up with empty bluster. When the Predacons are winning he'll gladly claim all the credit for himself, but the instant things turn bad he's the first one to flee and shift the blame to somebody else.

Transquito: Obnoxious and powerful but also incredibly stupid. For all the firepower he commands, he's not a difficult 'bot to outwit. He takes a great deal of pleasure out of driving friend and foe alike up a wall, but when the tables turn on him he becomes incensed.

Retrax: Like I said before, Long Haul type. Digs the Predacons' underground tunnel network and is probably their chief technician next to Scorponok, but he gets no respect and consequently resents them all. He only sticks around because he likes the Maximals even less.

    And for two others--

Cybershark: A bit dumb, but incredibly enthusiastic and supportive. Prone to extreme displays of emotion. Filled with foolhardy, but nevertheless infectious bravado.

Manterror: Honestly I can't remember what Manterror's Sourcebook profile was, but I'm gonna go with the concept of him being the Predacon HR guy. Will gladly shuffle around the assignments of other Predacons just to screw them over. He's frightfully intelligent with a keen optic for resource allocation, and that makes him indispensable as an asset. Frightful on the battlefront, but arguably more intimidating behind a desk.

Wow! Nice personas for them! Including adding Cybershark & Manterror. But how dumb is Cybershark? A surfer?

I can imagine based on Aftermath, some of the Preds will die in the volcano's magma when some don't survive. Leaving Iguanus the only one of the norms who didn't get a Transmetal upgrade until TMII.

I hope those Maxies & Preds will make a comeback.

Beast Wars should add a double spy like Sideways in the mix, playing both sides. Can transform into a different beast and still go robot mode.

Well, if the Tripredacus Council are going to have a bigger role, they could easily send a double agent in the guise of a Maximal, in reality a Predacon that secretly joins Megatron's crew, while carrying out the Council's plans. I don't know who that would be, especially if we're to assume that Tarantulas is still their inside bot on Megatron's crew.

There are two incredibly viable options I could think of there, and both use the same mold: Shadow Panther (who expressly uses a mammalian beast mode to trick Maximals into thinking he's one of them) and Nightprowler (the unreleased Universe 2003 deco of the figure that was designated as a "Renegade Autobot.") In the case of Shadow Panther he's acting in line with Predacon virtues from day one, while Nightprowler could be acting either out of desperation or pure self-interest.

He's more dense than anything. He tends not to fully grasp analogies or symbolism, making him a rather literal 'bot. His exceptional friendliness makes him hard to stay mad at, but it can also make him easy to manipulate, especially if you were, say, one of the potential Maximal traitors listed above.

It would be nice to see Spittor again. I prefer Slapper for the Transmetal design and the colour scheme, and also for having way more exposure than Spittor... but a cool toad is a cool toad.

Actually Diver would be cool too.

In fact, give me all three. More toads the better.

Come to think of it. Spittor did transition from normal to Transmetal II.

    I JUST GOT AN IDEA!!!!

What if after the Quantum Surge, some of their comrades perished, leaving both Iguanus, Spittor, Blackarachnia & Inferno the only norms who aren't Transmetal?

With Megatron using a Transmetal unit to create Transmetal IIs, Iguanus and Spittor help him with the project, but scheme together in becoming more powerful after Dinobot II is created.

With Megatron distracted, they take advantage of the situation in becoming TMIIs themselves. It almost succeeds until Cheetor intervenes but the transformations were complete.

Which Transmetal IIs would you like to see make appearances in future BW comics? Other than Dinobot II?

Maximals: Optimus Minor, Ramulus, Nightglider, Jawbreaker, Prowl or Stinkbomb? We already got a bat on Nyx.

    Predacons: Scarem or Scourge?

Any one of the Maximals can be Cheetor’s teacher in mastering his new self. The first natural TMII!
