Then Hasbro hosed Walmart. But my explanation is likely very accurate based on the prices of G1 Reissues at TRU vs Walmart now.

Either way, the price in this case is not really a reflection of direct product cost.

I am of two minds for this.  I have the original, and I have it displayed.  But, I really like it in the box.  SOOOO.....what to do?  What to do?  LOL  I think the factor of price is an issue for me also.  Back when they were first release, these leader class figures were a hefty $20.  Now, they are 2 1/2 times that cost.  But I just might cave in.  ;-)

I do not own 1996 BW Optimus Primal or Kingdom Optimus Primal... so I ordered the Netflix Optimus Primal with Rattrap. In the long run I will be happier with the modern Primal with the MP colors.

I did have 1996 Megs and Primal pre-ordered, but ended up cancelling after much deliberation.

I know if I get 1996 Optimus Primal, I will need to get the other three, and that's like $146, and I won't open them so I wouldn't even enjoy them other than looking at $146 bricks on a shelf that I will just be holding MISB for the next collector.

I was a POS 6 year old. I remember I lit my Optimus Primal on fire and I repeatedly threw BW megs against the side of my house until it broke into tiny little pieces. I honestly have no clue why I did that but I've lived most of my life in regret. I truly loved those toys and my parents spent money they didn't have to get them for me.

I must repent now... by buying multiple copies of this rerelease and holding them till the day I die.
This crippling remorse may be the reason I became a MISB collector.

And we walked to Walmart, in the snow, and it was uphill both ways.

That two-pack (and the TFA verses pack of Earth Prime and Deluxe Megs) is like the perfect idea for the start of a new toyline. You get both leader characters, in fun, manageable sized toys, with accompanying fiction all it one convenient package. I wish more TF series offered those kinds of things.

I actually dig megs' black helm. Ofc it's not better than the og silver helm but it's also not bad. It fits to the "evolution" of megs concept. Reissue, kingdom, MP. More stock photos please!

I'm not so sure about that. Walmart have recently released a "flocked" version of MOTU Panthor and "Pixel Dan" (who's usually chipper for all things MOTU in his consistently positive reviews) called Walmart out on their markup:

I want a chance at this 2-pack mainly for Bat Primal. It's like having Optimus and Batman rolled into one.

It’s a different/cheaper formulation of plastic that has been used in recent years. It’s lighter and less durable than ABS too. I don’t know the chemistry involved. I’m just repeating the wisdom from @Protoman from the perpetually awesome Transformers Slag podcast.

I actually do walk to Walmart, it's literally ten minutes from my house on foot.

His arms are no longer extended, he has extra safety ropes across his chest and he no longer has walls on his sides or on his head and feet to prevent the figure from moving; in other words, the box has empty and unnecessary spaces.

I ask this with all due respect, but what exactly is the problem here?

EXTRA SAFETY ROPES? That's it, Hasbro just ruins everything!

All these people kink-shaming Primal because he asked for extra ties in his box...
