I finally got all of mine, Skullcruncher being my last. And damn are Skullcruncher's hips and feet terrible. I can NOT get him to stand even in an upright pose. It's a good thing I love his Gator mode so much. Also the hinge to fold the gator head onto his back was stupid tight and I can see where the plastic not only stressed, but actually started to crack. I'm not planning on transforming him out of beast mode any time soon though.

Weirdwolf is by far my favorite. Which scares me. His transformation is so much fun but I'm terrified about what will happen to the cockpit hinge if I mess with him too much. I may buy a second one and cut out the soft plastic hinges just to have a "display" figure, who's always in bot mode, and a "play" figure which I can freely transform.

I don't know why both of my Wal-marts decided not to stock this most recent wave of Reissues- they sold really well, but I don't even know if there is a spot for them anymore as I haven't seen any stocked since...last Xmas, I think? Anyway, I really wanted to get Highbrow- so I've been waiting and waiting for them to go online, but they never got lower than $33.
Well I got one from Amazon for $25 and it's going to be here today. Hoping to take pictures! I really like the alt mode for this figure and I've had a blast with the other 3 Headmasters I had gotten from these sets.

 

I passed on a few times…uh..maybe I shouldn’t have.

 

Opened up Highbrow and I think for this one, the alt mode really outshines the robot mode. Still fun regardless but I'm glad I didn't spend the $33 on it (My store wasn't carrying Headmasters anymore) and instead just $25 or so. I really enjoy this line more than I imagined I would so it's win!  

 

Man, it'd be something if we got TR Nautica and Metalhawk in this line, but they were never Nautica wasn't established until the 21st century and Metalhawk was never released in the States. And both of them have never been Headmasters.  

 

Those are pretty obscure characters. I'd be happy to see the Decepticon Targetmasters reissued though

 

Eh, true. Though at this point, I'll take a Generations Selects reissue of them. But yeah on the Decepticon Targetmasters. The tricky part is how could they marketed. The Takara Legends versions were basically 2-in-1s since they had both a headmaster head and a Targetmaster. (I wonder if the Targetmasters can get retooled to be compatible with WFC's blast effects...)

 

Hasbro made their own versions of Blowpipe, Aimless, and Caliburst as Battlemasters in Siege, so I don't think they have any intention of doing a release of the Takara Legends ones.

 

I'm hoping that the 'con Targetmasters get retooled to gut their Titanmaster gimmick and retool the Siege Battlemaster molds as pack-ins, their likenesses aren't accurate.

 

none of the other retro box figures feature any retooling. they're just using pre-existing alternate noggins.
the best one could hope for is re-issue of the takara versions with the fancy targetmasters.
the worst outcome would be straight repacks of the american toys with slightly spiffier paint.
middle ground might be tr deluxes with siege battlemasters packed in for a 5 dollar markup.

 

I'm not convinced that the retro line will necessarily be just repaints. Though it could, I feel like there'd be a lot of wasted potential there.
