Just trying to clarify, this new Transformers movie has no connection to Bumblebee movie, correct?

 

Er, pretty sure it does have some connection to the Bee movie.

 

I wish these movie topics were better titled. I always forget which movie they're each referring to.

 

unless it is said otherwise i think it's safe to assume this is unique to it's own universe.

 

Hard to be certain though. Scriptwriters love to throw a wrench in the story to confuse and mess with their fans' heads.

Aside from Optimus and all their heads except Bumblebee, every bot has new designs.

Unless that's enough I don't think one would call it a G1 movie, G1 inspired maybe, especially when it doesn't take place in G1.
Besides you already have that.

 

Well I mean Scourge looks more like a combination of these two rather than G1 Scourge,


And Bumblebee looks like what he did at the end of BB, and we all already know Mirage at least will have a Porsche oriented look rather than an F1.


Plus since this doesn't take place in Sunbow or Marvel G1, it would be as much a G1 movie as IDW is a G1 continuity. As in it may use G1 designs as a base of inspiration before going to do it's own thing.

 

But this thread isn’t talking about ROTB, it’s talking about the the Angel Manuel Soto one.

 

Well he did say "you know good and well that an Animated Movie does not fill the void of Live Action" (which is wrong but ok) so I assumed we were then talking about ROTB now.

As for this movie I still highly doubt it will be a "G1 movie", more likely a G1 inspired one. As the creators will want to put in their own creative touch on it, especially with G1 still being available.

Cause this thread is for a movie that isn't live action.

 

Considering it's about Megatron and Optimus being friends that turn into enemies (rather than dudes built by someone else to fight) it very much isn't G1. Nor is it Live action.

 

This thread is about a live action movie though...Soto's movie is supposed to be live action.

The animated movie is directed by Josh Cooley.

 

So which one is the one that’s supposed to be directed by the Toy Story 4 guy?

 

I believe there are 3 movies in production that we know about.

1. Big budget live action Rise of the Beasts
2. Animated film that takes place on Cybertron by Josh Cooley (Toy Story 4 guy)
3. Smaller budget live action by Angel Manuel Soto (the one this thread is about)

 

I don't hate G1, nor did I say anything against G1. I simply stated this movie ain't it. Only one blinded by their love of a continuity is you.

 

Good to know everybody is as confused as I am about what this movie is about.

Enlighten us. What exactly would make this a "G1" movie. Like just the designs?

 

We're not supposed to know anything about this movie since it's in the very early stages. I doubt the script is finished. It may not even happen if ROTB bombs.
