I have Reximus (the original release from 3+ years ago) and it scales well with Gigapower but is way too tall for the FT dinos.
I had Grinder and found that Reximus towers over him and all the FT dinos.
I ended up selling all my FT dinos and have Gigas as my MP dinobot team and Reximus as their leader.
Reximus is upscaled MP-08 so if you're familiar with MP-08 then everything is intuitive.
I prefer Reximus because of the proportions (head, chest, waist) and didn't find a need to pick up Giga Grimlock.
In addition, I picked up the black KFC Delta Magnus hands and adapter which gives Rex the hand articulation that it is missing.
    Hope this helps!

He’s ok. Nowhere near the build of Fanstoys or Giga, but good bang for the buck. I have ft for my season 1 display, and reximus for my season 3 display. He sizes really well next to MP Ultra Magnus.

Reximus is good, and as been said he scales with Giga. I have all Gigas and the more I looked at Reximus the more it didn't fit interms of aesthetics. The styling is similar but the colours didn't 100% blend so I sold it and got Superator. So nothing wrong with Reximus, it's a KO and can have some slight looseness (as can any 3rd party) but the finish also wasn't to the standard of Giga

I've owned both, and prefer Grinder to Reximus.

While Grinder blends better with the rest of the FT dinos, I still prefer the Takara style alt mode as FT's Dino head is too bulbous (g1 head, the default one is even worse).

A bit of a tangent, but I was recently trying to decide on whether I should buy Reximus, Superator, or Grinder and I couldn't for the life of me find a single review on youtube that compares the 3. At most it's a mixture of 2. Made it hard for me to decide, so I went with Beast Wars Megatron instead.

I really think a review channel dedicated more on helping people find the right figure if multiple version exist is a good idea.

The difficulty is that that relies on the reviewer to own or have access to all three, which is easier said than done. They're usually not made of money any more than your or I, and they've made their choice.

Good luck with that. Unless the person is getting the toys for free in exchange for the review, I doubt anyone is going to bother recording a video, doing a comparison and editing the video.

I have a ton of flashlights that people are always wanting comparisons of and there is no incentive for me to record a video review.

Also keep in mind that the figures are released at different times.

From memory (I could be wrong), Reximus was released 2+ years before Grinder. Superator was released 2 years after Grinder. That is a long time to hold on to a figure for a comparison if the Reviewer doesnt intend on keeping them all. Additionally, age of the mold often reduces the resale value.

Superator in the center. Left is FT? And right is Reximus?

I have Reximus and absolutely love him. I put mine in Dino mode, with my MP G-1 86' Movie cast. Looks great with MP Hot Rod.

    correct

It's a great figure. My MP Grimlock journey has gone:

TT - was good, sold it when i got the original Reximus release
Reximus - very good. Better size for GP or even FT dinos than the TT. Currently in dino mode in my 86 movie display
FT - very good. Currently in bot mode with my other FT dinobots in my G1 display
GP - very good. Currently in bot mode in a standalone GP dino display, waiting for the throne that will likely never happen :(

These days...i would take a reasonably priced Reximus to go with either GP or FT dinobots, if i was just getting in on them. I think it's not quite right but close enough for either set of bots.

Reximus isnt worth it. Shoulder joints are too high, no finger artoculation on one hand. Robot has some weird gimmick that nobody needs. If grimlock is one of the main characters in your collection avoid reximus or the official mp grimlock.

That's one area where Takara is lacking compared to 3P. Takara refuses to give their bigger bots fully articulated hands.

Yup and they could easily have gotten rid with any of the lightup gimmicks and the figure would have been great for its time.

The light-up gimmick is pretty lame.

I want to see how Cang toys tackle Grimlock in their Volcanicus. All the current Grimlocks are also a little lacking in articulation one way or another.
