update time. i'm still considering this as a "beta mod" because I've yet to do the full plan, but it could effectively be good as is. also, my area has finally been struck with the case of "winter" making my actual painting sessions canceled until further notice... aside from shapeways since the paint takes in regardless... without any further adooo…. I introduce to you, the queen of the dinobots, Strafe!!! utilizing the KO OS yellow strafe, modded to have titanmaster compatibility, and a Strafe face courtesy of @Trentulas and his shop!!! here's a closer look. not too proud of my mess-ups...it uses the titanmaster from twinferno, sicne I just found the lost one I replaced ages ago....so it wasn't wasted at least. but she still looks good from a distance. "but Marvel B, Strafe is supposed to have two heads! she only has one! SHE ISN'T STRAFE!!! WHY DO YOU LIE TO US?!?! BLOCK USERNAME"- hold on a bit.... because she DOES!!! utilizing trent's female grimlock face made ages ago, her second face is my pride and joy, because I didn't have the right shade of grey, and tried to blend black and a lighter grey, matching perfectly with a spare Quake head I had lying around as well, also blending in with the natural grey. as for the mod, the neck bit is screwed on, and all ii did was unscrew it, then took and exacto and spun it in the hole. and yes, dino mode isn't hindered at all, at least in my opinion. the reason she's still in beta is because I want to try and put the twinferno arms on her shoulders, makig her a three headed dino, and also, I found a way to implement both TMs at once, however... i'd need to remove the combiner joint completely by unscrewing and cutting the pole thing inside. I would also need to put some clear plastic on the side to increase tolerance (which I tested, but didn't perma-attach) and if I did everything, it won't hinder dinomode either. as for the backface, i'm sure that when the pink OS slash comes out with the hands (and adding another fembot slash to my ranks) that they'll work as a back cover. so that's strafe at the moment. let me know what you think, and enjoy!!!
Been ages since there was an update here, and I finally have the time to do it! Don't know if there will ever be another update but who knows....I might have 4 or 5 test projects in the works....but I'll never tell!!! Alright, first off is the most important one. I decided to alter Shell a bit. Her gold was fading quite a bit, so I got tired of it and redid her with some black. I also did some orange in her legs to keep that energy story bit accurate and some orange on her weapon shell. Lastly, I redid the head a bit with some parts unpainted and some better face paint with grey. Her Turtle mode is untouched. Next is a dino….thingy.... Original intentions is a bit convoluted involving Clobber and Crashbash's shell armor, so I am left with this. the yellow bits were from a dye session Next up, and another redo, is Skash from the Slash Pack. Just like Shell above, her gold was fading and I wanted to do another fix, but this time I simply partwapped with a cindersaur I had laying around, stripped the paint away and tada! Now her body fits a bit more closely with FOC Grimlock's chrome, with that weird green tint they both have (Got to remember to replace the chest emblem later) And lastly, the newest addition to the Slash Pack: Batora! (or more accurately, Butla) So weird story with this, Butla was originally a combat drone assigned to Skullsmasher in the Legends universe. One day, it was charged with holding Chromedome hostage by combining with him. A while passes and they get separated, with Butla growing a slight bound to its captive but gets denied to stay with him. Saddened, Butla heads to a bar where Grimlock happens to be and they quickly bond over a few drinks. Now with this version of Butla, Wheeljack, under Grimlock's "request", gifts Butla a more humanoid form, and adopting the name Batora. She then proceeds to remain at Grimlocks side, as a form of thanks to him. Now a member of the Dinobots, she does whatever she can to prove her worth, even to the dismay of her previous alliance with Skullsmasher. I stripped the paint of the robot head, chest and tail, then I tried to dye the head red, but got an orange. That aside, I proceeded to paint some black on her arms, the part of the tail where the head rests and her robot head in a similar manner to Skullsmasher, as a reminder of her original state. I happened to have an extra jaw and dino claw set in my junk so I used that, too. Lastly, a little trick I thought off... by swapping Batora's thighs, I can get a dino mode reminiscent of her drone form! Alright, that's all I got for now. I hope you guys have a great day and stay safe during these trying times!
Well, I was gonna save an update until I was finished with my current Dino project (which is juggling between a bunch of others) but the recent boost of posts tells me otherwise, lol. Still need to mess with other pieces so I'll just put in a few bits that are basically done and a pair of purple legs because why not? Yup. I still need to fill in those holes on the head though.....and add the Autobot logo to Skash. I probably could give it a try, but between Stone and getting a decently priced PCC Grimstone last year I don't really have a need to, so the odds aren't that good. And now you've reminded me to make an attempt at them.... *looks for PE Dino upgrades* Oh.... all gone....
Oops. Forgot to post these from earlier as well. I finished the two Dinobots I teased last time. Has some Technical difficulties along the way, but I made it work. First off, Is Dinobot Speeder and Cooldown. This one was surprising since her parts are all junker parts. The Dino head and Targetmaster are from TR Ptero and a shapeways conversion kit. Iirc, I superglued the dinohead's jaw, then drilled a whole through the dinoneck and used the pin to keep it attached. It can look up and down with no problems, but back storage is when the trouble is. I attached two Battlemaster gun barrels (Forgot who) that was once on the now Peacemaker onto her back flap to recreate some jet boosters/back cannons. Sad thing is, her back is completely hollow and I couldn't think of how to fill it logically. That's why I made Cooldown. Also serves as a neat homage to Dino Riders. I think I need to touch up on some paint on the thighs, but I love her. And next is SG Slash. I KNEW I needed to try this at some point, and I'm happy with the results. So in-canon, she'll be a horrible tracker, getting lost at every corner. in fact, that's how she joined my Dinobot Island. She got lost in SG and somehow made it here! She actually like the Slashpack since they don't bully her about getting lost she she decided to stay. I went with a Trypticon coloring, but decided her leg core color should be dark blue instead of blue to reference Godzilla's Blue flames....Also, I only have transparent in blue.... Well, once I get my current backlog of customs out of the way, I do intent to make more Dinobot customs at some point. That's it for now. have a great day everyone and stay safe!
In all honesty, she's just a stylized prehistoric chicken. I wonder if there IS a dino that fits the bill tho.
There is at least one known dinosaur that had a long beak. Nature's first known beak belonged to this dinosaur So there could be others.
They are Micro Machines. But sold separately in a mixed individual Power Ranger pack.. luckily found a used complete set.
Big fan of all things Dino! Not sure if you saw in the news about scientists discovering a 'monkeydactyl' but if you were able to customise something like this for your team.... ideal name would be - Simian
