Apparently they changed plastic with some of the latest figs, switching from the more expensive flexible nylon to harder cheaper plastic. If you check out the dedicated thread there’s a bunch of photos of weak plastic and stress marks all over the toy. There is also a video review that speaks on some of that.

 

Well damn that’s unfortunate. Was looking forward to Motormaster. Looks like I’ll be saving some money.

Paid 86 for MM in the end. The quality drop is annoying, thanks to all those people who complained about nylon! /thumbsup

Glad to hear it. I'm hoping this is a plastic transition. Was playing with some bots earlier and the nylon really does have some unexpected give at times. We'd probably be more disappointed if the combiners couldn't hold in place.

 

The nylon plastic has it’s own number of problems.

They just need to work out the kinks with the new plastic, instead of switch back to nylon. Other companies don’t have these problems with ABS.

Hopefully they get on top of of it quick.

 

What was their first to switch from nylon to plastic? Was it the 2 Stunticons or another?

If I were going to do this, I would be waiting to get Motormaster so that it'd be easier to do test prints.

 

Are people reporting Motormaster has the stress cracks? I havent gotten mine yet - that makes me so sad considering his cost.

Wouldn't you do it based off the car modes not the leg? Or am I wrong?

 

I am so fucking excited for this guy! I for one vastly prefer the look of the plastic on the Stunticons over the nylon stuff MS used prior. It always put me off. Hope they stick with this material for their other combiners as well.

 

For the car parts, yeah, but they have to be able to link up with the Menasor frame that's made by Motormaster's trailer.

 

Stunticons seemed fine to me. Excited for MM.

 

I thought the original announcement stated we would get car shells for combiner mode. I might be confusing it with NOCV's excitement for accessories. Either way it doesn't seem to be happening. Too bad. Would buy them separately if MST wanted to start playing to their fans that have been with them from the beginning instead of dropping bug eyed dudes on us.

 

Finally I paid Motormaster, wish me luck.
