And even funnier is that he was called wheeljack, and then in the next series we had a character that looked exactly like wheeljack but couldn’t be named because of that.

 

Ngl, while G1 updates are great and all, I'm hyped for the potential for other generations getting updates. I mean, outside of Skywarp, Sunstreaker, Hot Rod/Rodimus, Springer, Galvy, Scourge, and Cyclonus, there aren't many G1 guys that I feel the need to get my hands on.

But redoing UT designs, THAT would draw my interest. I'd probably go all out when it comes to the non-Megatron Armada Decepticons, and get a fair amount of the Autobots as well. An actually good Armada Hot Shot is HIGH on my want list, and Armada Prime is my all time favorite Optimus Design. I'm praying he'll be next year's Commander Class. And a Prime Knockout that's kinda geewunny and also a good toy? They'd have my money for sure lol.

And naturally, completing the Beast Wars cast is a major must lol. Long story short, I'm kinda hyped that Hasbro is gonna move on to other TF eras.

 

Sorry dude, this isn't quite true. The 84-86ers still have plenty of wants left, and the 88 line-up looks increasingly like it will never be revisited with a lot of what did come not really counting (eg POTP prentender Shells, Firecons).

 

I think the real issue here is that those are the toys that sell. Those are the toys that have connection to higher portion of the population. So long as companies like making money, those are the toys that they will make. Now, that does not mean that they can introduce new characters/iterations here and there. It seems as tho hasbro has been doing that to some extent.

 

I really have to agree with this sentiment, it's just more petty tribalism that leads to nothing but conflict and in-fighting. We all have our favorites, likes and wants but we get nowhere from antagonizing different 'sections' of the fandom for imagined slights.

 

Those are the names that sell. You can make all kinds of toys named Optimus and Megatron or whatever and people will enjoy them even if they aren't super accurate.

I still don't get how in less than a year we've completely forgotten that screen accurate updates of classic characters weren't a thing in Generations until Earthrise. But now it happened and suddenly that's the only acceptable thing ever?

They're also the only toys that are being sold. But now we see how well BW is selling, and we will now see how well Armada may sell with it even with it's reduced space, considering Armada is now the same age as G1 when the first Alternators and MP-01 came out.

 

I mainly want new Vehicons because I got MMC's Strika and Obsidian and am still salty about them not doing the other 3 haha

Honestly, watching UT and BW fans prove they're no better than G1 fans has been really entertaining for me.

 

It's less "fans prove they're no better than G1 fans" and more "why shouldn't our favourite iterations get updates like your favourite iterations?"

I don't care about those guys man. Give me the important characters of this franchise, like Kicker, Armada Optimus, and Armada Scavenger.
Those are the characters everyone wants to see.

 

Need a side burn and the other vipers (roulette and shadow striker). And if there’s room Team bullet train (need more train transformers), build team and ruination, also wouldn’t mind predecon field team (which can double as beast wars characters).

 

I wish they would do a prime/megatron set with proper cartoon deco. I know they did for siege, but that wasn't earth modes and had the added animation detailing

 

So, if Sideswipe is coming with Halloween Cheetor, (assuming he's still happening) is grimlock solo? A two pack? Cancelled?

 

....And there's literally NO reason both can't be on shelves at the same time.

 

Most original G1 fans are middle aged (40s and 50s) so we’ll be dead soon. so let us have that great cartoon influenced Powerglide and Skids figures before we go.
