would have been cool if it somehow had double jointed elbows to make the salute gesture.

Same for tf source. If that's the case I'll cancel my regular for the metallic

Done. Canceled the regular...pre ordered the metallic. The dark purple is too nice to pass up.

The grey shackwave is very tempting. I like the look, I like elements of the transformation and only being grey can Shockwave enter my dedicated legends collection.

Pricy, though. The regular costs about the same as IF Megatron and that one came with a shitload of parts to make four different versions -- and I thought that was already pricy since I've never used most of those parts.

i didn't mind the pricing when i had one but as i get more and more newage figures it feels hard to justify spending 50ish for these

Soo Magic Square's Shockwave is $42.99 and NewAge is $69.99 in USD. I'm liking the look of Magic Square's price but NewAge has much better quality in materials used, paint and overall engineering in my opinion. For sure sticking to the NewAge version for my collection even though my wallet won't be happy at least I will haha.

The EX dark purple one is more though and there’s no prices yet at Chinese retailers that I’ve seen.

    edit: Nevermind, 59.99 at ShowZ

Yeah I’m getting impatient with NA too. Glad the Galvatron repaints are done.

Is Cyclops even next in line? Didn’t their bee/cliff set get official photos first?

No comparison pictures of this guy to gauge his size with other cons?

So wait... is the "EX" version of this guy intended to be the "toy" version? He does look darker, and his transparent parts look more toy-based. But Show.Z has him listed as "Animation version." Does that mean we should expect an even dark specific "toy" version at some point?

Eh, it's far more "just different" than "toy colored". G1 Shockwave toy was a lot darker purple and it wasn't a metallic purple. The feet etc were metallic silver. (depends--some parts molded silver, some parts actual bare metal)

"Grey feet and metallic purple" is like the opposite of the G1 toy colors.

In this case I think that’s right. He was darker purple in the cartoon than the normal NA version. Galvatron’s EX wasn’t toy, it was movie. As to whether there will be a different “toy” version, I doubt it. They’ll put out all the repaints they’ve announced and move on to the next mold like they normally do is my guess.

Did NA ever announce the batteries needed for this guy? I hope it’s the same ones as Soundwave or Reflector. I just want them to stick to one battery type. It will be annoying if they go with a 3rd type for Shockwave.

Yeah, that's what I was initially figuring. But then you've also got Darius, whose EX version was metallic with an extra accessory, so I don't think they're super consistent.

Good points! Yeah, at this point I'm ordering all three existing color variants... but if a more accurate, dedicated "toy" version comes out, I'll probably consider selling one of the other purple ones. Then again, it's Shockwave, and you can never have too many Shockwaves.... :)

I feel like they're following the pattern of the MP release... where there's a richer, darker-purple "cartoon" version, no proper "toy" version, aaaaand.... this weird light lavender version that doesn't seem to have any significance other than being the first one released.

    Thanks for the replies, everyone!
