Hi! I made this custom awhile back, but decided to finally post it on here. This is my custom AOE Evasion Mode Optimus Prime! I used SS05 Optimus as the base since I thought it was a good version of the mold to use. I removed pieces from the figure itself to make most of the back detail, used and cut up the front grill section to make the chest look he had with the front headlights. Also used the front wheels to and glued them to the side of his outer legs. The back was a little tricky to figure out but I eventually used the gas tanks, the 2 red flaps that flipped down on his legs, the square pieces with the flames and I used cardboard to finish off the rest to complete the look. For the rust effect. For the paint, I used the Apple Barrel brand. How I painted it, I used dark red/maroon and white mixing then together for the first layer on the grey plastic and edges. I let it dry for a couple minutes. Then for the second layer, I used the same red/maroon paint and yellow to make the second layer making the rust more noticeable and apparent. For the hole in the chest (put it on the wrong side) I just used a heated knife, twisting it around to make the broken chest windshield.
This is awesome! I’m hoping we get an official Studio Series Evasion Prime but this custom is on another level
