It's really really weird. I keep my office door closed lately because I'm terrified they would want to chew one/all of Unicron's spikey bits. They LOVE to rub up against him. They actually sit and stare at the closed door until I open it.

    F$&king finally.

Didn't get an email from Hasbro, but I do have a FedEx account, and the shipments were located in "Managing your deliveries."

I did a video on Instagram where I mention the Haslab Unicron parts from this thread here and here.

I'll be doing the eye mod next.

It's very possible that they are picking up on the scent of whatever release agent is used in the molds. They could just be curious of the bright colors or wanting attention you are showing something else. Like why they lay in the middle of what you are doing every chance they get.

Finally managed to move my Unicron from the dining room table into a display (Ikea Besta). Planet mode would not fit in any angle and that was without rings (I actually preferred the zeta Unicron which I wanted to display in robot form beside planet haslab).

Luckily, robot form with one wing removed from each side as well as the back leg of the stand allowed it to "just" fit.
That said, has anyone considered a neck extension mod for this guy. After trying to get a decent pose in the display, I finally got one but it would really look great if his neck could look down. Taking a straight on look, Unicron looks a bit like a "no-neck".

Here's two pictures of the head detached (it's just resting) front and back.

Mine indeed came in today, and whoo boy, it really cannot be said enough that pictures really do not encompass what it feels like to be in the presence of this toy. Even if he's only a few inches taller than the Titans, his shear enormity in all other dimensions absolutely crushes them.

The "my god, what have I gotten myself into?" feeling really kicks into high gear from the moment you feel that bowling ball in your own two hands, and just steadily ramps up as he blossoms into an absolute behemoth of a robot.

The few odd controversial colour applications aside (that honestly really never bothered me), the final toy looks exactly how I wanted it to, especially with the revised colours compared to the original hand-painted sample. The muted orange and grey-green colours are perfect, exactly as I remember him onscreen.

Also, a pleasant surprise on my end: for some reason, I was under the impression that he only came with enough screw covers to cover just the frontside holes. So it was to my delight to discover that he indeed came with a paired set of each, to fully clean him up nicely.

Just got the MGS4 Plat. Naked Big Boss run was fun. The remaining 6 playthroughs were not hahaha

also how’s everyone enjoying their unicron still? Buyer’s remorse hit me pretty hard so I sold it to a local guy. Glad someone is happy with it. :)

It's a good thing he wasn't a fan because if he were it would be torture that he didn't buy one for himself but had to deliver other people's

He is bigger in person than in pictures that is just the truth. Haven't transformed him yet but the wing rings alone are like wtf when you take them out. I don't appreciate how shitty the instructions are so far. As usual Hasbro shows a lack of coordination and a complete inability to fully deliver a professionally polished product despite what is obviously an overcharge for what we got in the end. To me this was their chance to show they can do what TakaraTomy does consistently - charge a premium price but really deliver a premium product and experience. Well they still can't, and fans should rightfully continue to be apprehensive about that going forward. If you want to whine about that feel free, but that's just the reality of the situation. Putting him on the stand should not have been an ordeal and you shouldn't have to look for outside help to make sure you are doing it right because you obviously don't want to mar your expensive, single-run toy. I don't appreciate what were some obvious last minute cost cutting measures and I still think the box is extremely underwhelming and a huge missed opportunity that seems to show how little interest they have in fully delivering and wowing their fans. It feels to a certain degree like "Unicron's big, what else matters?"

I rather like him overall so don't get me wrong. He just was not a good value for $600. I am humbled to be able to afford such luxury and I hope that everyone who wants this will get it someday.

I look forward to checking out the robot mode this weekend.

So, here's an aspect about Unicron I don't see talked about much, if at all:

I just transformed him back into planet mode for the first time, and I just realized the subtle brilliance of Unicron's panel design. With panels that big and that weighty, more rigid tab connections between plates would've been too fragile. Put a bit too much force along a panel break, and tabs/pegs would snap like a wafer. So instead, they went with that bevelled "zipper" design that provides sturdy arch support, but easily folds in on itself, with plenty of give, until it's properly braced during the point of final assembly. The bevelled trapezoidal shapes mean that there's no fine-tuning massaging needed: the tabs hook and channel themselves into their respective slots practically by themselves, once you've got them reasonably aligned. For the central "ring" that forms the poles and maw (and the robot backpack), all you need to do is string the panels together, and once you've tabbed the assemblies into the two locking points on the crotch and on the arms, they form a solid, self-supporting arch structure. And then for the remaining quadrant pieces, you just hook the perpendicular tabs in at the back of the planet, and then the whole assemblies practically guide themselves into place, where all you need to do is press in the straight tabs near the maw to complete the package.

It's absolute design perfection, as far as shell-forming can be concerned. Absolutely none of the fuss usually associated with that design ethos, and there's a remarkably smart use of force distribution and arch/dome mechanics in play that maximizes the structural stability during what could be a frustrating transformation step, and makes it utterly painless.

TLDR; the shell pieces are flexible and forgiving when maneuvering them into place, rock solid once you've tabbed them in, and are not fiddly in the slightest. Genius.

Minus points then, that such brilliant engineering is in rather stark contrast to that mildly worrying floating shoulder plate.
