Makes sense. The only exception I can think of is EX Galvatron which is the movie accurate bluish purple while regular is more season 3 purple. Then they have another toy accurate Galvatron that isn't labeled by EX.

 

He's talking about this. It's the character model sheet the animators used as a guide.They strayed pretty far from the coloring most of the time. Comic Shockwave remained pretty close to this color though.

 

yeesh these 3p legends class figures are getting really tempting, especially with the quality and wide selection of characters... and I try to only collect MP. The only thing that's keeping me on the fence on these is the price - 70 bucks for just one smol character is a bit luxurious. Not the first to say this, and definitely not the last     

 

Why would you want that?

 

I've yet to see good, bright light piping on a legends figure. Exception being the recent IF Ultra Magnus, but he's bigger than a deluxe figure. Legends are just too small to allow enough light in to make the gimmick worthwhile.

 

I too really dislike light piping, especially on legends figures.

 

I don’t like the back of the head and when you store it on the shelf it has a dead eye

Does anyone that owns the Newage Megatron and has attempted the hip kit upgrade know where you can get more of the screws required for his upgrade? Mine stripped and im clueless as to where to get more.

BBTS also has Redwing and AM Thundercracker for the same price. However, those two are like $64 on Asian sites. BBTS is always overpriced for Newage.

 

LOL! Yeah, I love NewAge stuff and am in on this figure, but the prices, even on Asian sites, are getting kind of out of hand. We're paying close to MP prices from the old days for legends scale figures now.

 

It's not just BBTS, NewAge's offerings are overpriced in all Western retailers. Heck, they are still overpriced even on Asian sites.

 

I am just glad I’ll be out after the G1 S1 Decepticons are done. I got into NA with Flipper (Bumblebee) and Lucifer (Starscream) which I thought were priced fairly. The pricing now is getting steep but the quality is improving. Compare Galvatron in terms of parts count, paint, and overall quality to their past offerings and it kinda makes sense.

 

This New Age Shockwave needs to be seen in person to see how well the eye really is, without computer effects. Maybe this one will be a rare case of working good.

I have only seen one good light piping in ALL the toys i ever owned, and that is the original Takara MP Shockwave, where the area of light was on top of the head and very large area (and not back of), and where it looked ok even without light on it but not super, as the eye was very big. If the light piping is done perfectly, then it will work good on the shelf, sure, when you turn on your LED light on top in the evening/night. But i personally still prefer metallic, which works great during the day and when playing with the figure.

 

ah man, only Q4 for Metallic paint.... damn that is long way ahead...
